World strongest hunter

~Unexpected Encounter Pt.2~

After acquiring weapons and gaining a new skill, Kelvin was stronger than ever, with confidence in his new found strength, kelvin hunted day in and day out for a week, slaying monsters without rest.

After a few battles he changed, he found a kind of thrill in them, going through life and death battles, defeating strong beasts.

A feeling close to the one he had in his past life from countless battles and experiences, but in a way, very different. He still had his emotions intact, not just an empty shell who kills without remorse, but a sort of glory, like those of knights after a glorious battle.

As kelvin opened his eye, he welcomed another day in the dungeon.

"I guess it's another day for more hunting uh"

Half way through his hunt already, he headed out, going towards an area where he felt a presence of some monsters, he saw some figures up ahead as he got closer.

"hm? There's a strange presence among them" Kelvin thought

As he moved closer, he realized they were dire wolves.

Walking closer to them, he noticed from the aura they had that two of the wolves were the same he saw when he arrived at the dungeon.

All the emotions kelvin felt when they approached him at the beginning when he was still weak and powerless rushed through him as he was looking at them again, all the fear, pain, powerlessness he felt then turned into a burning hate and frustration.

But he wasn't who he was then, he was stronger, way stronger.

Calming himself, kelvin looked further at the situation and he noticed something weird, with what he knows, the low-tier monsters in this dungeon weren't friendly with each other rather they were more hostile with, especially for the ones of different types. So what he was looking out shouldn't be possible

Two red dire wolfs are working together with a blue one to attack another monster.

"What's going on?" Kelvin was baffled.

He quickly moved closer to see exactly what was going on and he was shocked as he saw the monster they were attacking.

"Oh? Now that's strange" Kelvin said

It was also resembling a wolf, in fact it had more of a resemblance, with white fur covering its entire body, small stature with blue eyes and a crown like mark on its forehead, unlike the other wolf like monster's with their large furless body filled with spikes and mouths with countless teeth's and a split jaw as it opens its mouth.

"What kind of monster is that? Is it some kind of dire wolf?" he asked himself as he used his [observation] skill to check its details.

"Hm? That's a new one, shadow hound and it is a shadow type uh?, wait, a non-tiered?!... Like the ground boar? Isn't that meant to be weak for a low-tier monster? Why are they taking so long to finish it off?"

Kelvin was not sure what was going on, for a weak monster to make this three low-tier monster into working together, regardless of their types, just what was this shadow hound exactly.

Kelvin was curious, he wanted to know more about the shadow wolf, but if he kept on watching he would never get the chance.

As the three dire wolves were closing in on it, the injured shadow hound was pushed into a dead end, with no chance of its survival, the shadow hound could be considered dead. But the eyes on it wasn't that of one that was soon to be dead, rather it was of one with a burning sense of survival.

"What's this?!... Those eyes!" kelvin said mesmerized

He was shocked, shocked at the sight of a beast at deaths door, with eyes brimming with intense resolve, a resolve to live.

The shadow hound even though it had no way to survive this still had confidence and that left a great impression on kelvin.

One of the three dire wolves, the blue one which I think was supposedly a type that induces a kind of sleep effect on its prey, making them weak and low on energy, was about to attack the shadow hound, it used three of its tails with spikes at the end to attack the shadow hound, barely dodging the first two attacks it was hit with the third one, it could have dodged that one too, but it seems like the dire wolf released a kind of scent which made the shadow hound sluggish.

It was in a deadly situation as it was badly injured and was under effects of the blue dire wolf.

As they were slowly moving closer to it, kelvin threw two of his throwing knife induced in [Aura] at the throat of the two red wolves first, so they won't be able to use their paralyzing ability they used before with the ground boar.

"Okay! A direct hit, now they won't be able to use that annoying ability. Next I need to stop that blue one in the front from using its sleep scent"

As the wolves were attacked by kelvin and they were in a confused state, the blue one stilled didn't avert its attention from the shadow hound, "you guys really don't care about each other do you?", since the blue dire wolf was still focused on the shadow wolf, kelvin had to act fast, attacking the blue one first kelvin jumped into the air from where he was, using [air step] he moved swiftly through the air to where the blue dire wolf was without being noticed, in mid-air he shot two [aura] shot at the blue dire wolf. Jumping out of the smoke caused by the attack, the dire wolf came out after dodging the attack, giving some distance between it and the shadow hound.

Though kelvin missed, he achieved what he wanted, after making distance between the shadow hound and it, kelvin could fight it more seriously without worrying about hitting the shadow hound.

After that attack the other dire wolfs were alerted and regrouped with the blue one.

"oh? Three against one uh?" he said calmly with a low tone, "that's just isn't fair, now is it? You should at least call more of your friends if you want to stand a chance" he said confidently with a grin at the end.

Charging towards him ferociously, the three dire wolfs attacked together. Kelvin holding the two poison daggers in his hand looked at them with a calm face, before releasing a huge amount of [aura], which intimidated them, slowing their charge and then swiftly cutting through them in a blink of an eye. In mere seconds he sliced through three dire wolfs with a skinned tougher than iron, though the poison daggers from the spikes of the poison dire wolf helped, it still was something amazing.

Kelvin was currently not who he used to be, he was strong and still getting stronger.

After it was concluded he faced the shadow hound.

"GRRRRR!!" the shadow hound growled at kelvin as he approached him.

"What a strong willed beast" kelvin said, "you don't need to be on guard, im not going to hurt you"

"Grrr!" it growled once more as kelvin moved closer.

"Ah ah…, I guess you won't just let down your guard right away"

The shadow hound though it was barely standing still let out a fierce look, kelvin suddenly felt a kind of domineering aura from it.

"Hm? Interesting" he said, kelvin became even more interested in the shadow hound, just what mystery does this beast hold, that's all he could think of.

As it kept on growling at kelvin, its condition became worse, as its injury hasn't recovered, eventually passing out in front of kelvin.

After the wolf fell unconscious, Kelvin picked the wolf up and took it over to his base to treat it. The next day, Kelvin went out to hunt, while leaving the injured wolf to heal at his base, on his arrival back he went to check on the shadow wolf, he noticed something out of place.

He headed towards where he left the shadow hound, he was attacked by it immediately he entered, pouncing on him, the wolf aim its jaws at kelvins neck, ready to bite away.
