~Unexpected Encounter Pt.3~

Kelvin still keeping a calm expression while being attacked, moved his neck out of the shadow hound's jaw and gave it a strong kick released with a small burst of [aura] sending it across the room into the wall.

While still growling ferociously, though it was hurt from the kick. Kelvin was rather disappointed at how the shadow hound showed it's appreciation to the one person that saved its life, but in the end it was to be expected.

"Hey! Is this how you treat your savior?!" Kelvin asked, but it's not like the shadow hound could understand him anyways

"Grrrr!" it growled louder as kelvin approached it, not showing any sign of calming down, Kelvin decides on what to do next.

As he moved towards the shadow hound, the atmosphere around him changed. With a strong pressure around him, the shadow hound was forced to submit, under such pressure it couldn't even raise its head, talk less of growling at him.

Raising his hand towards it, he released an intense killing intent enough to make the shadow hound, who stood his ground against three dire wolves twice as powerful as it is, to tremble in fear.

As he was about to touch it, the pressure around him stopped, including the killing intent, the atmosphere around him went back to normal. Kelvin decided to stop after it showed no sign of hostility, leaving the shadow hound on the ground exhausted.

As he was leaving, he turned and looked at it.

"Come out, I hunted enough for two" he said, talking about the pile of ground boar corpse outside.

Though it didn't understand human speech, kelvin felt it could understand his thoughts. Still it wasn't all that responsive to him, denying to eat kelvin just kept its portion outside where it could get it later. Hours passed by, with no presence in sight, the shadow hound approached the corpse of the ground boar left by kelvin, dragging it into the cave it stayed.

Looking at it from afar, kelvin watched as it finally decided to eat after a while. He knew that it won't be easy for such a proud beast to just submit to him by just saving it and providing food for it. He was prepared to wait for the shadow hound to open up and submit it to him, because is intuition is telling him that this mysterious beast will bring him way more than he could ever expect. With a smile he left it and went to sleep.

Welcoming the next day with noises from beasts in the forest, kelvin woke up, looking at the area where the shadow hound stayed first, after confirming that its wounds where healing well he then prepared his breakfast and did other morning rituals, then left for his hunt. He came back, leaving some food from his hunt outside the small cave where the shadow hound stays.

Kelvin repeated that for days, after a week he noticed the shadow hound didn't wait till he left before it carried its food in. he was relieved to find out it was opening up to him.

Days passed after that and the wolf was completely healed, kelvin thought it would leave once it as completely recovered, but his surprise he found it still there in its cave when he came back from his hunt.

He then drop its food as usual but something unusual happened, it came out to take its food but instead of it taking it back in, he eat it there where kelvin was without putting his guard up or anything.

Kelvin didn't know when it happen but he already became attached to it, so at the sight of it finally opening up to him, made him happy.

He has been staying alone in an unfamiliar place for up to a month now, on guard at every second not knowing when or where danger will appear from. Having someone or something that could be consider a company was a really relieving.

After that day, it followed kelvins hunt regularly. Kelvin was shocked at first when it joined. For such a weak monster it had a very smart way of hunting, its movements weren't slower than those dire wolves by any means, though its strength couldn't compare to them and it doesn't have any special ability, but its intelligence was unrivalled.

A week passed, a lot of things have changed since then, the wolf grew extremely big, twice as big as the dire wolves and kelvin became even stronger. He also had almost completed his quota for low-tier monster.

As kelvin was hunting down two low-tier beast with the shadow hound, he noticed something about the shadow hound again, every time the shadow hound is in front its enemy, its releases a kind of domineering pressure that intimidates them, it did it with kelvin to the first time they met with those dire wolves.

"I wonder if it as something to do with that crown mark on its forehead and why it doesn't use any shadow move, when it's a shadow type" kelvin plundered, what mystery does it hold?, he progressed into asking it why it didn't use any shadow move, but to his surprise it suddenly jumped into kelvins shadow vanishing.

Jumping back out from his shadow, kelvin understood, it wasn't that it couldn't use any shadow skill, it just didn't see any reason to and it seems to exhaust it.

Kelvin became curious of the shadow hound, he then tried to see if he could see more details on it by using his [observation] skill but was denied by the system, it seems the skill hasn't reached the recommended rank to show more information on the target.

"Just how do you expect me to rank up this skill, stopped going up ever since I arrived here"

"Really?! Just how do I get the authorization then?"

"My class rank uhn? It was on my stats wasn't it? So then what rank is 'sufficient' enough"

"…why do I even bother? Argh!... just forget it, lets just go… what's that?!" he said as he suddenly felt a strong presence in the air, the atmosphere suddenly filled smell of blood and an intense killing intent.

Kelvin rushed towards the direction of the presence with shadow hound, as he got closer the pressure was stronger and the killing intent was more intense. Just what kind of monster is this to produce such a presence? He decided to slow down because even shadow hound couldn't take the pressure.

But as he stopped, he suddenly felt something, suddenly jumping down, also pushing shadow wolf with him. As they jumped down a large wave slashed through them cutting down the forest around them. Barely dodging that attack, kelvin stood up, looking around him as the surroundings around him was destroyed. Suddenly he felt a strong presence behind him and shadow hound was growling towards his back.

Turning slowing as he looked back, he saw a giant monster two… no three times the size of shadow hound.

"ROOOAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

The loud roar from the beast alone pushed kelvin and shadow hound backwards.

Kelvin looked at it, noticing it had some characteristics from all the dire wolves he had seen, but it had a grey colored skin with three eyes on its fore head.

"a monster this strong shouldn't be here, just what kind of monster his this"

Kelvin thought has he stood in front the beast
