Unknown destiny

Anne I am so excited for today. I just wish I didn’t have to go to school today since it’s my birthday I’m turning 17. Mom says that today is going to be a great day. And that we’re going, to get to spend it together after I get back from school which we usually don’t get to do because she usually hast to work late but because of the special day she got to take off work. OK not thinking about today trying to get up and get ready for it. I get up and get dressed put on my jeans, my boots and my white sweater with stripes I start to head down the stairs and I smell something amazing smells like chocolate chip pancakes, my favorite I guess mom made it for breakfast for me and there she is in the kitchen at the stove, flipping pancakes she turns around and says happy birthday my little girls all grown up sweetheart I made these for you and she hands me a plate of chocolate chip pancakes with syrup . We both sit down and start eating and mom says OK so here’s the plan for the day you’re going to go to school I’m gonna go to work and then after works over I’m gonna come by the school and pick you up we’re gonna come home we’re going to eat dinner and celebrate with some cake and presents. I say OK I wonder what she got me she’s been acting so strange lately all jumpy and a little irritable and every time I ask her about it she pretends like nothings wrong but I can tell that it is because she’s got dark circles in her eyes like she hasn’t been sleeping I thought it was just stress from all the work she’s been doing but the time I ask her about it she won’t talk about it and change the subject super fast. Oh well I’m sure it’s nothing to worry about. I’ll ask her about it after my birthday is over for now. I just wanna enjoy time with her I guess during all my thinking she finished eating and got up and cleaned up the dishes because she turned around and said all right let’s go we’re gonna be late, so we got up got her stuff together and went out to the car but on the way to the car I could’ve sworn I felt somebody watching me from across the street which is funny because we live in a farmhouse style house out in the middle of a forest so there shouldn’t be anyone around but I swear I felt tingles on the back of my neck. I know it was in my hair because I put it up in a bun today so I look around and I don’t see anyone and it’s light out so but there’s no one there that’s odd so I get in the car and we start driving. Mom turns on the radio and start singing along. It’s our favorite song so I start singing along with her so far today feels like it’s going to be a great day . Mom pulled up to the school. I looked over at her and said bye she said have a great day and happy birthday. Thanks mom see you later I shut the door and started walking towards the school. I looked around. I didn’t see Jenny anywhere. Jenny is my best friend. I wonder where she is usually she would be one of the first people to tell me happy birthday probably with some crazy surprise birthday present Jenny’s like that she’s very spontaneous. I guess I’ll see you later. I better get to my locker and get my stuff out before class starts. I walk through the doors and head to my locker and there at my locker. It’s covered in birthday decorations and there’s Jenny standing right beside it with a big grin on her face, hey Anna, happy birthday Besty and she has a cupcake. Of course she has a cupcake for me. She is the best. Thank you Jenny. What flavor is it red velvet of course your favorite. Yay it looks amazing. OK you hold it while out of my locker and get my stuff for math class I put in the combination I open the locker, avoiding knocking off the decorations that she put there and inside is a a birthday card and a black wooden box. I look at Jenny and say, did you put this in here she says, no you must have a secret admirer, I just laugh and look at her like she’s crazy and say I do not have a secret admirer. although I’m kind of getting worried now that I look at it because I’m like who would give this to me I don’t really ever talk to anyone I just talk to Jenny. It’s just me and her it’s always just been me and her, I guess I better open it and find out I pick it up It’s smooth and cold Also my fingers kind of tingle when I touch it which is really strange, i set the card to the side and open it inside is another white card so but this one’s kind of like a business card, but with one sentence on it, it says very cryptically. Are you ready for your story to begin , well this is very strange and a very odd birthday gift. I guess it’s a prank but I don’t think anyone else knew it was my birthday, but Jenny and Mom no it wasn’t my dad because I don’t know who my dad is. I’ve never met him and I’ve never heard from him and Mom doesn’t talk about him so that’s not an option on the table Jenny looked over my shoulder and she says, that’s really weird oh wait look the other card is still there what does it say. Oh yeah, I forgot about the card that came with it although they already put a card in the box so I don’t really know what the point of putting a card in an envelope and then giving me a box with a card in it is but I guess I better open it and find out. I guess I’m a little bit nervous because my hands are shaking just a little bit. I’m opening up this envelope. I pull out the card from inside and it says. Dearest Anna, today is your birthday, and from this day on things will start to change for you when these changes start to happen, do not panic it will all makes sense soon. As I finished reading that very cryptic note the second one of the day I tensed when all the sudden I heard this voice say an so it begins. I look up and look at Jenny . Did you hear that? No what are you talking about? Nothing I just I thought I heard some thing I guess not let’s get to class I shoved everything back in my locker and we headed to math class. Grayson My day started off normal. I got up put on my training clothes and headed down to eat breakfast with my parents. On my way. I passed a couple guards and a few castle staff everyone bowed their head slightly and said, good morning, your highness. I arrived at the great wood doors that lead into the dining room, where my parents sat. My father king Edmund said at the head of the table and my mother queen Fallon set to the right of him. They seem to be in deep conversation while eating breakfast and as I arrived at my side of the table on the left of my father I said, good morning mother father good morning Grayson they both said, what are you two talking about that seems to be so important, oh nothing darling me and your father were just discussing things I said mother, you do realize how vague, that sounds she smirked. My father gave me a pointed look that said, watch it I just laughed and sat down. as I waited for the servants to bring my food, I sat and listen to my mother and father talking an all the sudden the conversation changed, and they ask what my plans were for the day I started to tell them I’m an all of the sudden I started to feel extremely happy and thought I smelled chocolate chip pancakes. Also, what is a chocolate chip pancake and why do I think I smell it. I also felt a tingle go up my arm and back and the side of my neck and while all this is happening I stopped paying attention to what my parents were saying. They were talking to me, but I couldn’t hear a word. I was just trying to look at my arm and see if there were some thing on it when all of the sudden, the start of what looks to be like a dragon with flowers and vines, slithering all up my arm outlining the dragon. I’m not sure what kind of dragon it was or what clan it is from it looked different from anything I had never seen it before. I didn’t know what was happening, and then it clicked my mate must’ve come of age because these are my markings, and all of the sudden there was dead silence. I looked up from my arm to mother and father, who were staring at me in shock. I could hear my mother saying that that. Is that what I think it is I looked back down at, it and I said I’m pretty sure but the thing is I don’t know who she was. I looked at my mother and father again and I said. Does this mean that I’m going to meet her today? Father said we don’t know you never know it could be today. It could be days from now, but this means it will happen soon. Finally mother got up from around the table and started walking over to look at my arm, she picked up my arm and examined it and said to no one in particular, I’ve never seen a dragon or flowers like these, and look at the aura surrounding the dragon and the flowers. It’s lavender and emerald green and violet, all mixed together and separate at the same time, . I looked down and saw that that was also true an I looked back at my parents and I said, what does this mean? Do I finally get to know what the mate signs are we don’t get to know until we get the mate mark because it’s not important until then to know What they are because you have not met your mate yet, so you don’t get to know about them yet. Both my parents looked at each other and said I guess it’s time . My mother had tears in her eyes. She said I guess this means I’m getting a daughter-in-law and she smiled at me. I’m so excited I’m Barkley bouncing in my seat but I don’t do that. I compose myself and look at them both and ask OK so what all do I need to know? They looked at my arm and look at each other and then turned back to me and said we don’t know we’ve never seen anything like it before But it’s best that you just go about your day like it hasn’t happened and continue with your normal routine which means you need to go to training and attend the meetings that are scheduled for today and be on the lookout in case you run into her and be prepared for changes and strange things to happen that’s normal I thought to myself oh great this should be interesting but I was also very excited to meter my other half the person who is going to complete me and who I will complete and be the other half to my soul I finished eating breakfast and then got up from the table to go to training and then meetings I guess we’ll have to wait and see what the day brings. Anne me and Jenny made it to math class and we took our seats. Jenny and I like to sit in the middle of the class so we can here but also not be at the front and not be in the back with all the people who aren’t even paying attention so we take our seats . Jenny sits next to me. The teacher hasn’t started teaching yet so Jenny and I just sit and talk. So Anne what are your plans for tonight? Oh nothing just me and mom eating dinner and then eating cake for dessert and opening gifts I say . Jenny looked at me like I’m crazy and she says dude it’s your 17th birthday. You’re gonna go home and just eat then open gifts . Yep what else am I supposed to do. Go out an party? She says I don’t know something fun. I look at Jenny and say this is fun. Mom is always working. I get to spend time with her I tell Jenny she replies with an exasperated look I know, but we should also plan a day where we just get to go out and do stuff together for your birthday. I say OK fine just not tonight tonight I’m spending my birthday with my mom you know I like to do that every year, considering how much time I don’t get to spend with her on normal days she has to work to support us and I can’t complain about it I look at Jenny pointedly after saying. Jenny looked at me and held up her hand and saying I surrender OK I get it. But we are going to do some thing fun for your birthday. I don’t know what yet but I’m gonna figure it out and it’s gonna be great. I replied by saying OK sounds good before we can say anything else. The teachers are just talking and letting us know class is starting, he tells us to get our books out and open and I do as I’m looking for the page she told us to go to start to get a strange feeling my arms tingling. I looked down to see if there’s anything on it there isn’t anything there, which is strange, because it feels like there is I guess it’s just in my head I just pretend like it didn’t happen and go back to looking for the page he told us to go to . Uh what is that all the sudden there is a burning in my chest I can feel it rising up my throat and then to my embarrassment I burp up a small puff gray smoke into my hand ok did that really just happen I look up to see if anyone saw. Nope they just heard me burp. The whole class just heard me. Burp but didn’t see the smoke great Jenny looks at me like I lost my mind. I just know my cheeks are so red right now probably cherry tomato red out loud I say excuse me, and then look back down at my book it’s official I think I’m going crazy smoke grey smoke just came out of me what is happening I silently yell in my head and then to add to everything else. Class is still going on around me when I hear a deep, smooth, silky voice in my head say Hello. OK everybody else is sitting listening to the teacher talk about math and nobody is looking around to see who said that except for me so not only do I look like a crazy person and I’m pretty sure I’m going crazy. Now I’m hearing voices on top of everything OK OK everything’s fine. I’m not hearing crazy voices. I’m just gonna respond back who is there and nobody’s gonna respond to me because I didn’t really hear a voice in my head. I’m not going crazy I am I sane normal person. It’s my birthday. It’s going to be a great day today it’s supposed to be a good day! OK I take a deep breath. Breathe in and out a couple of times. OK now hello is anyone there? I say in my head I wait a couple minutes. Dead silence no response OK good and then all of a sudden I hear a deep male voice say ITS YOU ITS REALLY YOU. Crap I really did hear a voice in my head. Nope, I’m not doing this today. Nope nope. Nope nooo !!! I look around the room and no one is looking at me they are all paying attention to the teacher so ok this is happening I am either going crazy or this is really happening . Hello who’s there silence I don’t hear anything. OK I’m just gonna go about my day when I finish out school, I’m gonna go home and pretend this never happened . Grayson I heard her voice in my head finally it was so shocking I was not expecting it she must be very far away it was hard to get a foothold in her mind and the connection was so iffy but it was still her . She sounded so different then what I thought she would sound like it didn’t sound like she understood what was happening she sounded completely confused and scared I wonder why she does not need to fear me I would never hurt my mate surely must know that i will figure out what is wrong when I find her and comfort her and it will be fine. GRAYSON !! Someone yelled it startled me and I jumped back in to the conversation going on around me . Wow she is loud. That actually hurts a little bit. It makes me wince
