I had not wanted to bring Cassie in amongst the other clans so soon, but I felt I had no other option. At first, I considered telling her to stay in the toom and I would have Flora bring her food, but I quickly realised that meant leaving Cassie alone again, and I was not willing to take any more risks with her safety. I contemplated staying in the room with her for breakfast, but it could lose me the respect of the other dragons if it seemed like I was avoiding spending time with them. It left me no alternative but to bring her with me.
