Chapter 12

"Ravana has taken their bodies away to use them against us!" "They would descend back in Nazirites with Ravana alive, but then, they must have turned into monsters like Ravana." Kath pointed out. "Anyone with a suggestion on what to do? Cause, I alone can't deal with this!" The king said beginning to get discouraged already. There was a moment of stillness. Known of the people of Nazirites has an idea on what to stop the disheartening problem. Any moment from now, Ravana would be back! He will descend in Nazirites with his monsters and they knew his second return will be more worst than his first. But then, the fact that they had no idea of what to do was even more... discouraging. "Give the injured soldiers an herbal medicine. You can find a lot of them in the upper room. Go get some and treat them with it." The king instructed and a messenger nodded his head alongside a slight bow before heading to the room. "The only thing I know I can be of help with is, bringing in more fighting tools. That's the only thing I can think of right now." The king said. Kath could remember how confident they were before Ravana descended. Not that they were hundred percent confident, but at least, they were more confident than now: in fact, multiple times confident than now. Now, their confidence seems to have gone down the drain. Bringing in more fighting tools wasn't the problem nor the solution. But, what can they do, when they had no other solution to the current situation. Three Days Later! It's been three days already after Ravana descended. Thankfully enough, they haven't seen any monsters descending yet. Though they have been living in fear, grieve, and anxiety, but, they were at least grateful that Ravana was giving them enough time to prepare their minds; just like he has said. Though it's been three days but their minds weren't fully prepared yet to accommodate what will happen next. Though it's been three days, they still haven't gotten a solution to the disheartening problem. Though it's been three days, they still can't find peace. Every day, the king has been thinking deeply. Cracking his brain and of course, having sleepless nights. To him, he felt he has failed as a king; he couldn't protect his people, nor could he offer a solution to the current situation: what makes him a king and a ruler then? The King sat down on his deck chair. It had his gaze fixed at the book with, "Descendants of the black Moon," boldly written on it. After the great Akiko has died, they haven't been a great fortune-teller as his. Typically, they haven't been another fortune teller to take over his position. According to what the king's dad has said to him before the great Akiko died, he ensured them that, if they were no other fortune teller to take over his position, then they should believe in the book, that the book comprises so many answers, but on one condition would these answers be known, if only the chosen one read It. He died afterward with the little hope he gave them which now seems fruitless to the king. After thinking all day, the king decides to check on this book all over again today. He's been staring at these plain books till eternity, his gaze hadn't left the book all day. Today, the king has locked himself up in his room and has vowed to check this book still he gets the answers. But he has been staring at this book for close to two hours already but still hasn't gotten his requested answers. He was beginning to get frustrated; no, he was frustrated already. Again, the thought came to him if he should pass this book on to his daughter but on second thought, if however, the gods of their ancestors want to appoint the chosen one, then it should be a ruler; specifically, a ruler like him. He was willing, he knew he was willing to bear the consequences, if the gods of their ancestors would make him the chosen one; he would be willing. After the last gathering they had, the king ensured them that, once he has gotten a solution, he would call for another gathering. He knew his people would be expecting a call of another gathering from him but, his fruitless head won't come up with a solution. By now, he knew Ravana and his descendants will be preparing hard for their second return. By now, they would be in hell having intense training and empowering themselves. But, what has the king and his people have been doing all this while? Nothing, but living in fear. To top it all, the people haven't been training; the same way the king has been ineffective, the same way the people have been ineffective. What is the essence of training when, even after training, Ravana still defeated them? To think that one monster has done those things to them was frightening and discouraging. How one earth would they cope with so many monsters attacking them at once? Just, How would they? The people of Nazirites have been residing in the palace all this while. At least, the first time Ravana descended in Nazirites, the gods of their ancestors were kind enough to tell them the exact day they would descend, but now, the reverse was the case. The gods of their ancestors haven't been kind to them and maybe must have forgotten that there is a place called, "Nazirites," and also, they had no idea of Ravana and his monster's second return. So, they were in the dark! The King stuck the books in his garment and leaned his back on his armless wooden chair. He closes his eyes to take a quick nap, but then the unexpected happened. It came to him like a flash but, he saw it… he saw a monster; he was positive he did see a monster staring at him; precisely a hairy-faced monster. He has two sharp incisors bugging out from his upper lips and a tiny nose with one nostril. On his head were two curly long dark horns. Immediately the king closed his eyes, he saw this bewildering creature staring at him. Due to the shock, his eyes flared up as he panted heavily. It felt so real! It felt like the creature was there; right where he was seated. "What the hell is that?!" The king thought almost panicking. What exactly was this creature staring down at him. "Ever since your ancestors sold this land to Have this in mind, I have been watching; my eyes are always around you!" Those words rang in his mind down to his soul. His heart hammered inside his ribcage when the realization hit him like a bomb that, what he just saw now was like a… would he call that a… vision? Does this mean that Ravana wanted to show him that he is still watching them? Besides, was that Ravana's true self? The time he descended in Nazirites, he used the body of Stephen to carry out his evil act, which means, they haven't seen what Ravana looks like. What he just saw now, does that mean Ravana has been watching them, and even watching him presently, even where he is seated?
