CHAPTER 2

1051 Words
AURORA VLAD We're different, and we shouldn't be doing this. I'm a vampire princess, and I was raised to hate humans. For a moment, I wished I wasn't the princess of Dracoria, I just wished I was a woman having an adventure with an unknown man in the middle of a forest at night. My hands touch his body, they seem curious because they've never touched a warm body before. "Aren't you still scared?", I whispered, opening my eyes after our kiss. "Why do you want me to be afraid of you so much?" "Because fear dominates humans, fear controls this world..." He falls silent, and I frown when I feel him pull my hand towards the lake. "Can't vampires swim?", he teases once more, and I smile again, understanding what he's proposing at the moment. I look at the surrounding forest, and there's no one here. If someone were here, I could see and hear them, but there's no one here, we're alone. My conscience screams at me not to do this, but my hands are already removing my cloak from my shoulders, and seconds later I'm taking off the black and red silk dress that covers my body. "Vampires can do a lot of things...", I whisper before jumping into the lake with him completely naked. My parents would leave me locked in my room without drinking blood for days if they knew what I was doing right now, but I couldn't stop. I don't know his name, but I think it's better this way. We're in the lake, and I feel his hands touching my body again. My eyes fixate on a necklace around his neck. I frown and touch the small, shiny object with a symbol of two crossed swords. "What's this?", I ask, touching the small object and quickly pulling away when I feel pain in my fingers. Silver. I see my fingers regenerating quickly, and I raise my head to find him looking at me. "It's the symbol of my family; we all wear a necklace like that; it usually keeps vampires away from our necks.", he says, and I smile, understanding perfectly what he's telling me. He comes up to me and kisses me again. We're in the lake, and I can feel his warm body against my skin. "You're the vampire princess, and I'm just a human, do whatever you want with me, Aurora...", he whispers, touching my breasts, and seconds later I kiss him. I never thought I'd have the best night of my life with a human. We had s*x, and it was wonderful. My father is the king, my mother is the queen, and my younger brother is the prince of this kingdom. I grew up hearing that we should treat humans like slaves because that's what they are, but right now I don't believe it. After the intense s*x, we're lying on the grass in the forest, looking at the moon. I live at night because vampires can't go out in the daylight, so I've always been fascinated by the night. I'm about to close my eyes and relax next to the unknown human when I smell smoke. Fire. I quickly sit down on the floor before putting on my clothes and draping my cloak over my shoulders when I look around and see smoke. "The castle.", I whisper before walking to my horse, but the human man holds my arm. "Are you leaving?", he asks, and I nod. "Actually, I shouldn't be here, and this should never have happened." I don't expect any answer from him before I mount my horse and ride quickly to the castle. I don't have a heart beating inside my chest, but I know there's something very wrong going on. "Faster, Artax.", I shout, feeling the horse run faster. I look back to see the human man standing there, watching me walk away. I had a good night with the first person who wasn't afraid of me, and now I'm going back to being the princess who will rule it all one day. Furthermore, I close my eyes, holding the reins of the horse as I continue riding through the long forest. I should never have left the castle, and now I'm wishing this night would never end. But I need to go back to my normal life now, I need to go back to being Princess Aurora Vlad, the princess everyone is afraid of. I open my eyes, feeling the smell of smoke getting more intense. Nothing is normal now because I know something is happening in Dracoria. "We need to go faster, Artax!", I shout at the horse, feeling the wind blow my cloak through the air. I look to the side and see fire. Fire on Dracoria. "NO!", I shout, continuing to ride faster this time. I see the kingdom burning and people screaming, this can't be happening right now. I look at the scene in front of me with wide eyes. Everything seems to be on fire, my eyes fixate on our big, tall castle, and for the first time in my life, I feel afraid. I pass the gates to the castle, and I see many people around me. I'm completely confused, and I fall to the ground when an arrow flies towards me. A silver arrow. I look around me, and I see that the human people are fighting and creating a rebellion against the vampires. I see houses burning and a very strong smell of blood. Furthermore, I see a group of humans running towards me, and I don't react. I know how to fight, I grew up fighting with my father, but I still can't believe that humans are doing this. I look over to see the castle guards killing all the humans who were trying to kill them. More arrows fly towards me, and I quickly dodge. A screaming man runs towards me holding a knife, and I quickly kick his body. I'm stronger, and the man quickly falls to the ground. I'm surrounded by humans who are trying to kill me right now. Only silver in the heart can kill a vampire, and I see that all the humans are using weapons made of silver. This is a war against humans and vampires.
