AURORA VLAD
A group attacks me, and I defend myself the way my father taught me. I don't want to hurt anyone, but I'm the princess of the blood throne, and I need to protect my people. I need to protect the vampires.
Furthermore, I'm still far from the castle gates, and I need to get inside quickly to find my family. I didn't know the humans were creating a rebellion, and it was a bad idea to be outside the castle tonight.
Someone touches my shoulder, and I quickly turn around, ready to attack again, but I relax when I see Mason behind me.
"Get down, princess.", he shouts, and I duck down to see him throw a dagger at a human standing next to me.
"Are you all right?", He touches my shoulder, and I nod before running with him to the castle gates. I see that many humans have managed to enter our castle, and that scares me.
"We have to get inside and make you safe now, Princess Aurora!", he shouts to the other castle guards, and seconds later, many vampires are protecting me.
More groups of humans try to attack us, and the smell of blood gets more and more intense here.
I see Mason fighting quite skillfully with his great sword, like the good warrior he is.
"Mason!", I shout his name, looking at the castle.
"Keep protecting the princess! Protect our princess!", he shouts to the guards, and I'm taken to the stairs that lead up to the castle road.
I push open the two doors, and I see a lot of blood and dead bodies on the ground. I look at the stairs and start to run, feeling the fear rising more and more inside me.
Likewise, I know that something very bad has happened here. Furthermore, I'm running into the castle when I hear Mason calling me. I see more humans, and I fight them all, at this point, I don't care about their lives anymore.
"Mason, where's my family?", I shout, looking at him, and he tries to hold me back.
"Princess Aurora, this is no longer a safe place; we need to get out of here now and keep you safe; the crown needs you.", he says, and I frown when I hear the last part.
I keep looking at Mason, he's the strongest warrior in our entire kingdom, and he's responsible for our safety, but the castle was completely overrun by humans that night.
"Where's my family, Mason?", I ask, and before he can answer my question, I see a guard running towards us.
"It's all over, the king and the royal family are dead. I'm sorry, my princess...", he whispers, bending down in front of me, and before Mason can grab me again, I'm running through the castle corridors.
I stop running when I'm in front of my father's room. Furthermore, I see many guards looking at the closed doors, and they're all looking at me with sad expressions on their faces.
This can't be true; they can't be dead.
"Princess Aurora!", Mason shouts, holding my body, but this time I push him away and see his body flying through the air.
I look at the double doors in front of me, smelling the intense scent of blood, and as I approach the doors, I see all the guards kneeling on the ground holding their swords in their hands with their heads bowed, and I know what that means.
"Long live our queen!", they shout, raising their swords towards me, and I feel the tears of blood wetting my face at that moment.
I ignore everything and push the door of the room hard, and I scream, falling to my knees on the floor, when I see the horrible scene in front of me.
I close my eyes, screaming like I've never screamed before. Likewise, I keep screaming and crying non-stop when I see the bodies of my dead family on the floor.
"No, please don't!", I scream, opening my eyes and touching the face of my dead mother on the floor next to my little brother.
"NO, PLEASE!", I scream when I see my father dead next to them.
I touched his dead body, letting the tears of blood overwhelm me at that moment. This can't be happening.
I see a silver dagger inside his heart, and I remove the knife before putting his head in my lap and crying like I've never cried before.
"You can't die, please! Come back to me!", I say, rocking his body.
My whole family is dead, the humans managed to take everything from me in just one night, and I realize that I should be dead too if I wasn't in the forest that night.
"This can't be happening!"
I feel someone pull me close, and seconds later I feel Mason hugging me tightly. I dropped the dagger to the ground before crying on his shoulder.
"Mason, they can't be dead!", I scream against his body, feeling his hands touch my hair.
"I'm so sorry, my queen...", he whispers, and I cry harder when I hear it.
I open my eyes, and at that moment I see the dagger that was in my hands on the floor of the room, and I scream more when I see the symbol on the dagger.
It's the symbol of my family, we all wear a necklace like this, and it usually keeps vampires away from our necks.
I hug Mason tighter. I never thought vampires could feel this kind of pain, but I feel a great pain inside my chest, and it's too unbearable.
Furthermore, I take the dagger in my hands, still feeling the tears of blood wetting my face as I touch the same symbol that was on the necklace of that human in the forest.
They did this to me, they all did this to me.
I feel the anger growing inside me as I remember every detail and how I felt when I was inside that lake with that human man.
He did this to me, he knew that the humans were going to attack the castle that night, and he did this to me.
I feel betrayed. I feel like such an i***t right now. My parents were always right when they told me that humans are horrible, weak creatures.
They were always right, and I never wanted to believe it, but they were right.
"I want every guard in this castle to be ready, Mason.", I say, stepping away from him while still holding the dagger in my hands.
I bend down and kiss the faces of my dead family. Vampires are strong creatures and shouldn't feel feelings, but I've never felt pain as strong as this.
