The Teenage Mates

Prologue : It’s time. I knew sooner or later it would happen. We are in the middle of a war with the Red River pack the war is getting worse and now it’s even getting closer to home than what we expected. it’s currently three in the morning I’m still in my pajamas and dad just woke me up “it’s time my little bunny” he says with a small smile I know it’s forced but I give him one back with a small nod and I can’t help but throw my arms around my father’s shoulder and hug him as tightly as I can “I love you daddy” I say with unshed tears. I put on my favorite hoodie this is my favorite for one reason only because it’s dad’s. I grab three of my siblings Cory, John, and Lilly and put them in my car while mom puts Emma, Lizzy, and Rey in hers. I take one final look at my home my life as I knew it ; before I pulled out of the drive way and sped off behind mom into the night to our new life at Black Moon pack. CHAPTER 1 I knew from the moment I woke up that today was gonna be not just a bad day but a horrible one not just because we fled our pack during the height of the war between our pack no my old pack my pack that I have known sense I was little girl the pack where all my friends are where my father still is fighting still at my old home in crescent water pack; but because today is the first day at my new school and today also happens to be my birthday great. I got ready as quickly as I could not caring what I wore I’m not here to impress anyone as I tied the laces to my hightop black converse and threw a black sweater over my black tshirt. I went to the bathroom that adjoined to my room as I did my morning routine and did my hair and makeup. I gave Emma, Lizzy, Cory and John a ride to school sense they were ready and as usual Lilly and Rey weren’t even close to being ready at least some things are staying the same. on our way I took the kids to a coffee shop that we saw with a big sign that said “Grand Opening!” In big red letters we could all use a coffee I thought and something to eat it wasn’t just my first day but everyone’s first day and we were all nervous so I’m sure I’m not the only one who hardly got any sleep last night we all looked like we could of used some extra sleep and some caffeine ; a large vanilla iced coffee with a double shot of espresso sounds just about perfect right this moment and the kids need a pick me up. After we ordered and waited at a table for our order we sat in silence probably thinking what the other was “what’s it gonna be like?” It was then that Emma voiced that exact question out loud we all looked at each other not noticing that mom, Rey, and Lilly were behind us and responded “ Your gonna have a great day all of you are “ it was then that our order was called I mentally thanked myself for ordering something for the three of them. We ate happily but mostly drank our caffeine. I took the the triplets and John to school while mom followed with the “twins” behind me. it always scared me how alike they were even though Lilly and John are actually twins but Rey and Lilly are so alike it’s scary thank goodness I’m not a twin or triplet I thought again to myself mentally laughing. After dropping them off I drove the three and half blocks to the high school looking for the student parking lot which was still farely empty thank goodness the goddess must be on my side today I smiled. As I was walking up the steps to the school my cell phone went off as I was reaching for my phone in my back pocket I was pushed down ripping my jeans “just great” I mumbled to myself all of a sudden there was a hand extended out to me. As I looked up to take the hand of a very handsome muscular boy with bright piercing green eyes stood in front of me. As I took his hand to stand up he asked “are you ok beautiful?” I nodded once said “thank you “ and kept going up the steps as he yelled “hey beautiful wait a minute “ ugh what is up with this guy I’m no damsel in distress I got pushed on my first day so what I can pick my self up by myself. Irritated I looked back as he caught up “yes?” “You’re new here aren’t ya? “ with a sigh I nodded and replied “ yes now I do need to go thank you for helping me up” as I walked up the steps I soon felt the mystery boy walking beside me as I gave him a questioning look he raised his hands in defense and said “I’m just taking you to the office this is the most confusing building out of all of them reason why none of the classes are in here but 1 “ I nodded again well at least he’s very helpful I guess at least that’s all I hope it is he walked me to the office said his goodbyes and kept walking “FINALLY!!!!” I thought as I pulled my phone out to see a text from dad “ HAPPY BIRTHDAY MY LITTLE BUNNY! I HOPE YOU HAVE A WONDERFUL 17th BIRTHDAY MISS YOU EVERYDAY LOVE DAD” a smile formed on my face oh how I miss him I put my phone on silent and put it back in my back pocket. As I walked into the office I saw three blond middle aged women what seemed to be gossiping “I can’t believe our alpha let that family come here for refuge in the height of a war with Red River Pack’s Alpha the one with a snarky look on her face commented “and he will hear about their refuge and come here and start a war with us not to mention that girl the girl who looks nothing like her family and from what I have heard the only reason there at war is because they want her” hearing what the one closest was saying struck a fire in me a raging fire a fire that wanted me to shift and tear there heads off from where they stood. I quickly composed myself as they saw me and gasped as they realized I heard them but instead I played it off in a cheery voice “ Good morning ladies my name is Rose Marie Night and I’m here to pick up my schedule today is my first day” I said with a smile, after a delayed composure the woman dared talk to me after what she had just said about me “ ah yes good morning dear we been expecting you here’s your schedule and also I need all your teachers to sign this and bring it back at the end of the day “ all I could do was nod as I took the papers from her as I walked out the door I could have sworn I heard her say something about telling Red River’s alpha about me being here but I couldn’t be for sure as I looked back at her through the window in the door as she lost all color to her tan skin looking like she was meeting death in the face. Period 1: geometry - Mr. Alfred Sir John (9:30am- 10am) Period 2 : AP English Comp - Mr. John Catwerk (10:10am -10:40am) Period 3 : Physics - Dr. Ellis McNight ( 10:50am - 11:20am) Period 4 : AVID - Ms. Lisa Ann Wright (11:30am - 12pm) Lunch (12:10pm - 12:40pm) Period 5: advisory in the library - Mrs. Joan Ann McKnight (12:50pm - 1:20pm) Period 6: home economics - Mr. Randy J. Edwards (1:30pm - 2pm) Period 7: advisory in the library - Mrs. Joan Ann McKnight ( 2:10pm - 2:40pm) Period 8: P.E - Coach James E Tuffin (2:50 pm - 3:20 pm) Dismissal - 3:20 pm As I looked at my schedule I saw my first class had to be my worst subject math. Just great. I knew today was gonna be a bad day. As I sighed I asked the first person I saw if she knew where Mr.Sir John’s 1st period is she smiled at me and said all the subjects are sorted threw building so the math building is in building 4 which she so happens she’s going to thank the goddess. she was quiet mostly and showed me to my class I thanked her as she left for her classroom. As I walked in I handed Mr. Sir John my paper I needed him to sign and introduced myself unlike the office staff he had a better time composing his face quicker and let me know to just call him Mr.John and find a seat as I turned around most of the seats were filled already but 1 in the back of the class from the handsome boy from this morning; sigh guess I have no choice in this matter. I went to my seat put my phone in my front pocket and i vaguely noticed I had a text message I’ll have to check it at lunch I thought to myself not realizing the handsome boy was talking to me. “Huh” was all I could say he laughed at me “I was asking for your name beautiful “ “Oh it’s Rose Marie Night , what’s yours? “ I asked to be polite. With a cheeky side smile he replied “Ryan James Astford” I nodded at him. Astford Astford why does that name sound familiar I mused but I couldn’t think long as class was beginning to start. As I took as many notes as I could and follow the best I could which wasn’t much there was a note passed to me from Ryan I looked at him questioningly and read the note “what class do you have next beautiful ? “ I quickly replied as he was just making nice “AP English Comp - Mr. John Catwerk” I passed it back to him. I wasn’t even finished with writing my sentence in my notes as he passed it back to me “ Same here mind if I walk with you to next period?” I looked at Ryan and nodded my head and went back to paying attention. After class was over and I gathered my things and Ryan was already waiting “Ready beautiful “ I nodded. “ you know my name why do you keep calling me beautiful?” I asked Ryan he looks at me like I have 2 heads then pulls me quickly to him as some guy runs quickly and yells sorry as he runs past us and two other guys run after him he looks down at me “isn’t it obvious it’s because you are beautiful Rose“ i get out of his arms and started to walk away when he grabs my wrist and says our building is the other way. We walk quietly till we get to our English class I hand Mr.Catwerk my paper as he hands it back he welcomes me and tells me to call him John and winks at me I swore I heard a growl from behind me and as I turn I see Ryan not far from me waiting and sit next to me again this period hmmm what’s with this guy. I took notes for class again and nothing exciting happened this period. As Ryan and I were walking out of class he grabs my wrist “who’s your next class “ he asks rigidly “ uhhh um physics with McNight” I stammered. “I’m going to the same buildings I walk you to the right classroom. I nod as we walked I had to ask “are you ok Ryan” he sighed “not really but I was hoping you wouldn’t notice. Don’t think I didn’t notice Mr.Catwerk hitting on you” did I notice Mr.Catwerk hitting on me ya but I shrugged it off what I didn’t notice right away was how it affected Ryan or why it did when we just met “ hey “ I nudged him he looked down at me “ don’t worry about some creep of a teacher ok handsome “ I winked at him he smiled a thousand watt smile at me and finished walking me to my class he nodded at me once as he walked away and I walked into my third period physics with Dr.McNight I handed her my paper to sign and she handed it back and I went to sit down at a table in front. Class finished but I noticed to many eyes on me as I was gathering my things I noticed to many female eyes and male eyes I just need to get to get to my next period without any problems I sighed. As I was about to walk out Dr.McNight came up to me “ Rose Marie correct ?” I look up “yes ma’am” I say what could have I done I groan mentally “mind if I walk you to your next class while we talk “ I nod not trusting my voice as we walk out I notice Ryan and she looks pointedly at him as we walk away “ avid with Ms.Wright correct” I nod we walk a ways when she finally says “ I can’t imagine the stress you must be feeling these days escaping a war with six siblings and your mother and not so long ago your brother ….” I went upon death ears at the mention of my brother my best friend or so I though “ I don’t talk about him Dr.McNight” I said a little to roughly she smiled sweetly still as we stopped at the door to the side “ I completely understand more than you think if you ever need someone to talk to outside of family I’m here now let’s get you to class sense it started already “ I looked stunned she opened the door and introduced me to Ms.Wright and when she saw me anger lit her face as she grabbed my paper and pushed me out of the class “if you stay out of my class I’ll pass you now get out of my class she spat “ and slammed the door to shocked to know what to do Dr.McNight marched me to the office “no no no not on my first day” I thought. Dr.McNight told Mrs. Reyes what happened and aloud me to have a free period which I agreed to do in Dr.McNights class and work on homework but today sense class was almost over I went to my car. As I got to my car I looked at my phone fifteen text messages from all my younger siblings and twenty-two phone calls. I do the one thing I could think of I do a group text “ guys I’m barely gonna go to lunch is everything ok ? If I don’t get a response by the time I have to go to class I’m gonna guess all is well love Rosey “ well that gives them a little more than half an hour to text me back as I was eating my sandwich listing to music when a tap on my window scared the living hell out of me I swear I felt my wolf almost take over thank the goddess I shifted early and have control of her as I looked to see who it was I saw Ryan through my cobalt blue eyes return to their normal sky blue I roll down my window “care if I join you for lunch? “ Ryan asks I nod and unlock the doors as he walks around to the passenger side to get in as I finish the food in my mouth I can’t help but ask “you don’t have friends you usually eat with” he smiles “ I can’t figure out why but I’m having trouble staying away from you plus I now know what you are same as me and a lot of us here “ his piercing fern green eyes go to emerald green and go back. I smiled slightly wait did he just say he can’t stay away from me ? why?? Then we got to talking favorite colors birthday he just about lost it when I said my birthday was today asking why I wasn’t at home ditching I couldn’t help but giggle ohh if he only knew how much I enjoy school he would laugh then he asked when I first shifted if I could of taken a picture of his reaction to me telling him thirteen I can’t imagine what he would say to the fact that three out of my six siblings have shifted already and their only thirteen and fourteen as well. we talked music about our favorite sit coms not once did he ask about my brother or running away from home because of the war. When lunch finally was almost over I locked up my car and checked my phone nothing from the 6 of them so I guess it was ok. I walked back up with Ryan to advisory with Mrs.McKnight which so happened Ryan had too but when we got there their was a sign on the library door “All afternoon classes with Mrs.McKnight are canceled today” - Mrs.Reyes Principal huh I thought. “That’s off “Ryan said “wanna go hang out near your next class “ I smile “ I have home eco “ he smiled back “ same here let me guess you have advisory then p.e right “ I nod “so we almost have all our classes together but two “ he comments I can’t help but smile we went to an abandoned corridor near the home eco building which smelt mouth watering and I somehow ended up in Ryan’s arms I try to slyly move out of his arms but he grabbed me more securely to his chest and whispered in my ear “ please don’t beautiful you put my wolf at ease “ at that I leaned back into him as he breathed in my scent we knew it we both did I just hope I’m right but I won’t know for two months and Ryan might already know but he can’t even tell me or the connection will break. Neither one of us says a word we just connect with each other but some time during this I fell asleep in his arms I didn’t realize till Ryan gently nudged me “time to wake up beautiful “ I smile sweetly at him as I stand up and hold my hand out to him to stand and he takes it and pulls me into a hug “please tell me i didn’t snore during our time “ he chuckled “no my beauty you didn’t “ he breathes in my scent before letting me go as I breathe in his we walk into home eco just in time as I introduce myself to Mr.Edwards as he signs my paper and hands it back to me; Ryan isn’t far from me as we go sit at one of the station together. “Alright today class I’m feeling sweet really sweet so sweet I’m wanting a chocolate cake with a strawberry filling. start “ we grab our aprons and I try and not giggle at the sight of Ryan in an apron I start with the cake as I look at the recipe Ryan wrote down but edited it a smidge on the proportions put the cakes in the oven and worked on the icing and the filling and pored a little juice into the icing. Once the cakes were finished cooking I put them in freeze blasters and then filled the cake then and finished icing as Ryan went to go get Mr.Edwards. He cut into the cake and placed a slice on a plate and moaned so loudly that everyone stopped and looked at us “ best cake I have tasted all day take a piece for your selves and y’all are free for the rest of the period here’s your passes” as he goes happily with his cake we grab ours and I was about to wash our mess before we left until Mr.Edwards tells me to go on and leave it. I grab my slice and go to the football field with Ryan and eat our cake as he moans just as loudly “ woman I’m gonna gain ten pounds with this cake “ I couldn’t help but giggle. The period ended and we went under the bleachers where Ryan held me again running his nose against my jaw as I leaned into him. Who is this guy I’m not this kind of girl especially on the first day. We spend the whole period like this and head to the gym I go change into a sports bra a thin workout top and shorts just like the rest of the girls except most had a crop top or just their sports bra on. I walk out with my paper for Coach Tuffin to sign and he holds onto it for me. “ ok ladies and gentlemen so today we are doing one hundred meter dash whichever boy and girl finish first get to sit out on tomorrow’s fun “ all the guys groan and Ryan stands next to me “run as fast as you can don’t hold back we’re all wolves this period” he whispers I nod but keep looking forward. We all have about ten minutes to do whatever before the run I go off by myself and start stretching I stretch my legs apart and lean forward trying not to fall as I stretch and a familiar voice comes up behind” want some help “I look back and see Ryan and a growl comes out not a threatening one but a s****l one that answers to my core I stand up straight “don’t you have your own stretching to get to “ “I can always learn a new stretch from you beautiful “ he says with a smile he stretches his legs out and bends forward like I was I step back a little to do the same and tell him to pull my arms he looks like I lost all my senses as I say this but when I pull too he yelps out and I giggle and he gives up after a few minutes and go back to more traditional stretching as he keeps an eye on me oh sweet Ryan if you only knew. Coach Tuffin finally blew his whistle for the guys to line up and blew his whistle and after a few more stretches he blew the whistle for us girls to do the same ; after a bit of time I had finally caught up with the guys and another fifteen minutes the coach yelled time for me and looked at me surprised I looked at him “time ?” twenty-five point two ” hmm slower than usual I nodded and Ryan came jogging up to me “your done?” He asked surprised I nod than three whistles later and a megaphone “it’s the end of the day Ryan and Rose finished first good day everyone see you tomorrow” I go grab my stuff and my paper from Coach Tuffin and go back to the office to give them the paper and as I walk with Ryan to my car what I saw next sent me into a fit of rage.
