CHAPTER 17: Terry –––––––– Terry had to be dreaming. No, he was having a nightmare because through his door came Maggie and her kids. Everything he feared was walking straight toward him. Beast, the traitor, trotted over to them, tail wagging. Peter ran to the couch. “Mister Terry, are you sick? Mommy says you’re sick.” “I am and I want to sleep. Tell your mommy to take you home.” The little boy dropped down on the couch by him. “You never took us for pizza. You promised.” His stomach twisted at the thought of that greasy, cheesy dish and he clenched his jaw. He hadn’t thrown up yet and he had no intention of changing that. “Peter, don’t talk about food. Mister Terry’s belly hurts.” Maggie took his hand. “Come on, Mister Terry.” She grinned at his glare. “Let’s get you to bed.” “
