CHAPTER FOUR: Once In A Lifetime Moment

Logan's POV
The scent was gone, I kept looking out the window until Martin tapped my shoulder.
“Are you okay?” He asked while staring at my face.
“I am fine” I replied with a sigh.
“Are you sure, cos your eyes keeps changing colors” he said.
I took a deep breath with my eyes closed and opened it a few minutes later.
“So, what happened?” Loyd asked with a worried tone.
“This might sound crazy guys” I said with a little laugh.
“Come on let it out” Martin urged me with a light punch.
“I felt my mate, her scent was nothing like I have ever smelled before, but it was only for a few seconds” I said with a sigh.
It took them a few seconds to digest what I just said, as they were too stunned.
“This is great news!” Martin shouted while laughing excitedly.
“Yeah, when you find your mate, the rumors about you being punished by the moon goddess for killing your brother will completely be dispelled” Loyd said happily.
I smiled and looked out the window again, she is in this city and I will definitely find her.

“My Prince, the meeting is about to start” A guard informed me as soon as I stepped into the palace.
I went to Martin's house to freshen up before coming, so that I wouldn't be late.
I walked to the meeting hall and as soon as the door was opened, everyone's gaze was on me.
I actually don't care about anyone, so I just walked to the center of the hall and greeted my parents with a bow.
“ Son, didn't you say you couldn't make it?” My father asked me with a smile while my mother kept glaring at me.
“I finished up early and decided to meet up” I replied with a smile.
“Are you sure you finished the task?” My mother, asked with a sneer.
“The rogues were all driven out and the village is safe, I also left some people to watch over them for a while” I said with a serious tone while staring at her.
The councilmen were all happy with the news and welcomed me with a lot of praises.
“Take your seat, we were about to begin” my mother said angrily, clearly not pleased with the way I was being praised by everyone.
Karl, my younger brother, immediately got up, as he was sitting on the seat that's meant for the crown prince.
“Sorry brother, mother forced me” he whispered an apology and took his rightful seat by my mother's side while I sat on my father's side.
“Do you have to be so petty over a seat?” My mother asked me angrily.
“It is mine according to law and no one can change it” I said without even looking her way.
“That's enough!” My father said and the hall became quiet.
“I called this meeting because I was notified by the head of the shadow guards that some rogues are planning to attack the place where the concert is to be held.
It's a good thing that my eldest son is back, he will be in charge of the security” my father said.
“Why does he have to go? The concert was clearly Karl's idea. He saw how uneasy the people were and decided to organize it.
He did all the work but someone else is taking all the credit” my mother said angrily while glaring at me again.
I no longer feel sad or hurt whenever she talks like this, I have become numb to her sharp and hurtful words.
“Nobody is taking credit for anyone's work Mom, Karl doesn't know anything about security, he can't even protect himself in a fight while Logan has been taking care of the whole nation's security for years.
He is just going to make sure that everyone is safe, Karl included” Halsey replied her angrily.
Halsey is the my youngest sibling and only sister, we are very close and she is the only one that still makes me feel at home in the palace.
“You little brat, what are you doing in the meeting hall?” My mother yelled at her.
“I was told that my big brother was back, so I came to see him before leaving for the concert” she said with a smile which made our mother more upset.
“We will feel safer with big brother there with us, right Karl?” She asked with a smile.
“Yes, I think it's good for big brother to come with us too” Karl said with a smile.
“Then it is settled, you can all leave now” our father said with a smile.
Our mother walked away in anger while father gave me a light tap on the shoulder.
“Big brother let's go” Karl said with a smile.
I nodded and walked out of the hall with him and our little sister, who was clinging to me like a plaster.
My feelings towards Karl have always been neutral, he keeps saying that our mother is the one forcing him to take my position but he has never resisted. I even found out that he sometimes secretly helps her with her plans.
“We got your message” Loyd said with a smile.
He was already waiting with Martins and royal warriors were lined up behind them.
We quickly entered our cars and made our way to the concert ground.

“Let's welcome, DC!” The emsee announced that the singer was taking the stage and the crowd went wide.
By the time I was done with arranging everything that was needed to secure the venue, the main concert was just about to start, so I went to the front rows that were reserved for the royal family.
“Big brother, she is my idol, I am so happy!” Halsey’s screamed when she saw me and I couldn't help laughing at her overly excited expression.
“Arcadel, make some noise!” The most beautiful voice that I have ever heard, entered my ears.
I felt drawn to the stage, but there was no one on the stage yet but the best has already started and the crowd was going wild.
“Do you believe in love”
“Have you fallen in love before”
“Do you know how it feels”
“Do you want to feel it tonight”
“Baby, I will give you love tonight”
As soon as the artist started singing, I could felt a rush of excitement, I don't know the son nor the lyrics but the voice felt like a part of me.
The stage opened up and I saw the most gorgeous girl that I have ever seen, her hair, her red lips and the red gown that accentuated her curves, everything was just perfect.
“Baby, I will give you love to night”
“Baby, I…..”
The music abruptly stopped as soon as that unique scent entered my nose again.
She started looking around like she was searching for someone.
Her manager got on stage but our eyes were locked on each other.
I don't know how I got on the stage, all I know was that I was holding her in my arms.
The concert was being broadcasted to the whole nation, more than a hundred thousand people were present to witness this once in a lifetime moment.
The mic was still connected when we both growled at the same time.
“MATE”
Everywhere became deathly silent.
