VINCENT POV

Sun peeked from my room window disturbing my sleep . I open my eyes to look around. It’s 9 am .

What the f**k!! I have never slept for soo long in my life . I have always been an early riser . Today’s is gonna be hectic day and out of all the days i have to get late today . I took a quick shower and got dressed in a dark blue Armani suit , jimmy choo shoes and rolex watch . After spraying cologne and setting my wet hair , i exit the room and head towards dinning room . As soon as i sat on the chair maids started bringing my breakfast, I could feel their nervousness and i smirked . I ate my food quickly and head out .

My car was waiting outside . ‘Good morning sir’ Marcus greeted me and opened my door . My other bodyguard stood stiff as soon as they saw me . I slid in my car . Just then I received a call from my father. ‘ good morning son, your mother wants you here before the party starts . So keep your schedule free accordingly’ I signed and replied ‘ morning father, why does mother want me early to the party .’ I heard shuffling ‘ son you better come here at 6 , you are going to another date tomorrow with my friends daughter’ i rubbed my forehead and signed ‘ fine mother , but if you set me up for another date I promise I’ll kill them with my own hands,’

‘fine son , i just don’t want you to stay alone.’ ‘I’m not alone mother , and I’ll see you in evening. Bye mother’ I replied coldly cause i didn’t want to hear the same thing again . ‘ ok son ,See you in evening.’ I signed and look at the scene passing by .

I was in deep thoughts that I didn’t realise when we reached Radcliffe enterprise . Marcus opened my door and i step out . I buttoned my suit and started walking inside . As soon as i step inside every one bowed their head . I could literally see many of them shaking like a leaf . Flynn came running towards me and started telling me my schedule for today . My guards took another elevator. Where me , Flynn and Marcus took my private elevator. I wait for Marcus to press the button , which he does and stand beside me . ‘ sir you have a meeting in half hour.’ Flynn informed me . ‘ fine , and keep my schedule free after 6.’ I replied coldly . ‘But sir you have a important meeting at 7’ he replied hesitantly. ‘Soo , just do what i say , If you don’t want to die.’ I could see sweat forming on his forehead . When I heard a ding i step out and started walking towards my office . I sat on my chair and started going through files for today.

It was 5:30PM when I finished my work and head out of my office . Flynn and Marcus right behind me . ‘ Flynn make sure you get the reports on windsor’s .’ ‘ yes sir , it’ll be on your table tomorrow morning’ . As i step out of the building my car was waiting. Marcus nodded his head to other guards . He might have increased my security. I slid in my car . Marcus drove me to my mansion. I took a quick shower . I choose a black versace suit . I wore my diamond cuff links and my rolex watch . I spray my cologne and fixed my hair . I took a good look at myself. I was quite satisfied with my outfit. I went down and Marcus was standing near my new Rolce Royce. We head straight to my parents house .

As i saw my family house , i knew mother overdid herself again . The whole house was sparkling from miles away . When i guards saw it was my car , they let us in and bowed towards me . Everyone who enters the mansion has to go through security checks.

I step out of my car and started walking inside . I could hear my mother’s voice as she was telling someone to be careful and not break anything. As i entered the main hall , I couldn’t believe what i was seeing. She completed changed the look of the whole house. And that too only in few hours of time span . I couldn’t help but roll my eyes at my mother’s excitement. “ are u just gonna stand there the whole day son” my mother voice echoed in the hall . “ good evening mother, you really mean business when you plan a party . Huh !!” I walked towards my mother . She was about to hug me but i step aside. She knows i hatee hugs . But still she does it only to get me annoyed.

She rolled her eyes at me . “Come to your father’s office . We have something important to tell you . And call that brat brother of your to come home early . Otherwise I’ll chop his head off .” She said and walked towards father’s office . I signed and asked Flynn to call my ass of a brother. I know he might be out with his friends. “ make sure you tell him to come home within the next 30 mins .” I head straight to my father’s office . What is soo important that they made me come here so early . We could have talked about it after the party . I signed and knocked on my father’s office door . “Come in son.” I settled myself on the chair in front of my father . “ what is it dad ? It there something wrong.” My father chuckle and said “ no son there’s nothing wrong, I wanted to talk to about today’s party .” I waited for him to continue. “You remember my best friend Charlie Ambrose?” Ofc I remember him . “Yes, i do remember him . Charlie Ambrose of Ambrose enterprise.” My father smiled and continued “ yes , so he’s coming to the party with his whole family.” I looked at him puzzled and then it strike me his whole family that means the only heir and his most loving daughter would be coming too . That’s a big surprise. “ earth to son , i know what you are thinking. Yes his daughter is also coming. I had to literally beg him to bring his daughter with him . As we all know she doesn’t go to any parties . And stay out of limelight. No one has even seen her full face . She’s a beauty , that’s what everyone knows . Anyways, why i called u here is because i want you to take care of her .” He got to be kidding me , i replied coldly “ what the f**k father why should i take care of that girl . If she can handle a big ass company then she can take care of herself as well.” My father was not happy by my reply, I could see it on his face . “ son first listen to me , she is very capable of taking care of herself. She has been doing it since childhood but why I’m saying this to you is because she has a rare disease in which if a she has to stay away from people’s touch . No one has ever heard of this disease before so there’s no cure to it . So I’m requesting you to take care of her security because she is our guest today . And she’s my goddaughter as well .” To say i was shocked would be an understatement. How was she able to survive . I don’t know why but deep inside my heart something stirred, i wanted to do something for her . I signed and replied to my father “ fine father I’ll take care of it . But i have a question why do you want her to come our party ? Is there some special reason?” My father looked at my mother who has been sitting quietly this whole time . My father looked at me and said “ no son , there’s no special reason. It’s just I haven’t seen her for a long time . And we as in me her father thought if she comes to this party . It’ll be her first public appearance as a daughter and the heir of Ambrose.” He has a point. She doesn’t have a single picture of her on internet . Even paps couldn’t click her picture because of her high security.and if someone was lucky enough to get one either it was deleted or the company was bankrupted . “ It almost time son , few guests gave arrived. Let’s go downstairs.” My father as he got up from his chair and took mother’s hand in his and head out . “I’ll join you guys in a bit , i have some work to do.” I said and head straight to my old bedroom. Everything was same as i left it . I loosened my tie and lie down on the bed . I didn’t realise i was soo tired that I dozed off .

I woke up by a knock on my door and heard flynn voice . “ sir almost everyone is here .your father is calling you downstairs.” I sat straight and replied “ I’ll be down in 5 .” What the hell just happened, did I really fall asleep like for real . I couldn’t even sleep properly at night . I sat up and fixed my appearance . I head out of the room . When i reach the main hall I could hear people talking . Flynn was waiting for me near entrance. He opened the door for me , as i step into the hallway everyone was looking at me . Some bowed their head while some were shaking in fear . All the women here had fear in their eyes but that didn’t stop them from drooling over me .none of them caught my eyes .I went straight towards my parents , they were talking to someone . My mother noticed me and said “there you are son , what took you soo long .” The couple who were talking to my parents turn around. It was none other than the mr and mrs Ambrose . “ sorry mother i dozed off .” My parents were shocked to hear this . I know I’m shocked too . Anyways I greeted the couple . “ evening mr and mrs Ambrose. Thanku for joining us today .” Mr Ambrose smiled and said “ you have grown into a fine man son . And call me uncle .” I nodded my head .flynn brought me a glass of champagne. We were talking about business , when mom asked mrs Ambrose “ lily where’s our precious goddaughter, I really can’t wait to meet her .” Mrs Ambrose smiled and her eyes sparkled as if she was thinking about her precious daughter . “ she said she’ll be here around 9 . I call her to ask if she hasn’t changed her mind .” My mother and mrs Ambrose laughter at that . “ that child is just like our Vincent, can’t compromise with her work .” My mother said while shaking her head . As we were talking , i heard the door of the main hall opened . After that everyone was quite and all I could hear was gasps .Mr Ambrose had a proud smile as he said “ here come my princess.” I turned around to look at her .

I froze on my spot .

I couldn’t breathe.

I melted in her hazel eyes .

My heart raced .

Was all this really happening to me? She had my undivided attention . I expected a rich spoiled brat, but I saw a girl in a pretty black dress looking pure as an angel whose beauty couldn't be compared to Aphrodite , goddess of beauty.She looked soo tiny , fragile yet so powerful. Her dress hugged her body in all the right places . Her guards surrounded her from all sides . I was feeling a lot of emotions that I had never felt. But my face remained neutral . For the first time in life I was finding it very hard to hide my emotions. I was taught not to show my emotions to anyone .

She had her hair in a loose bun and a few strands were framing her face . Her hazel eyes met mine and couldn’t look away .her plump pink lips begging me to suck on them , to claim them as his . At that moment, I knew she was mine . She is my woman . I looked around and every men present here was looking at her with lust in their eyes . My blood boiled after seeing it . They’ll face the consequences for looking at my woman this way . She was approaching us when Mr Salvator rushed to meet her . I became alert, seeing this, but before I could do anything, her guards pushed him away . Which caused him to loose his footing and he fell . She reached near us and greeted her parents. From the corner of my eyes I saw Mr Ambrose wearing a glove. I stared at him in confusion for a second . But when he hugged his daughter, I realised it was for safety. Her mother just smiled at them . “Good evening everyone, I would like to apologise for my tardiness. Uncle , aunt, you both look beautiful.” She replied in her angelic voice . My father smiled and said “Oh my dear goddess, you look soo beautiful my child . And i can understand you had some work to do . Anyways lemme introduce you to my eldest son Vincent.” My father pointed towards me . She turned towards me and gave me a sweet smile . “Nice to meet you,” she said in her melodic voice . Urgh, I wish I could touch her . “ nice to meet you too . I have heard a lot about you from my parents.” I smiled and said . We all talked for a while . Even with her family around, her guards were on high alert . Even mine and her father were very alert . Mr Salvator joined our conversation and Ashley took few steps back as if she knew something was supposed to happen . “So, Mr Ambrose, this is why you were hiding her for soo long . She really is beautiful.” Mr Salvator said and licked his lips . My blood boiled at this. How dare he ! Look at my woman like that . His death is near . I pulled his collar and warned him “ you f*****g stay away from her . If i find you anywhere near her . I’ll kill you .” He shivered in fear and ran away . I looked back at her , her hazel eyes met mine and they had a little fear in them . He father took hold of her hands and said “Princess, there’s nothing to worry about. See we are all here . I’ll never let anyone touch you .” He said, and my father agreed with him . Everything was back to normal . We all sat in our respective chairs . Mine and her family sat in front and shared a table . I was sitting opposite to her . On her one side was her father and on her other was another man whom I think was her head of security. They were talking among themselves when the guy left and when he came back he had a glass of red wine . Which he kept on the table . She smiled at him and took a sip from it . My father went to the stage and told everyone about the motto of today’s party . Everything went by smoothly. We all sat down to have our dinner . Everyone was chatting happily but she had a troubled look on her face . Didn’t she like the food ? She was barely eating. She only took a bite of her steak . So I thought about asking her . “Is there something wrong with the food amore , should i ask someone to bring something else ?” She looked at me and smiled weekly “ oh no everything is fine , and the food is delicious. It’s just that I’m not hungry.” I could feel something was not right but left it for now . She ate a few bites here and there . She’s so skinny she should eat more . After everyone was done . My father announced “ everyone I would like to make a toast to my elder son Vincent. He has made me soo proud of him .” Everyone clapped and my father joined a few business man . Ashley’s parents were also taking to someone . Ashley was talking to my mother with her guards surrounding her . Flynn rushed towards me and said “ boss i checked all the security cameras everything seems right butt..” i raised my eyebrows at him and asked in cold tone “ but mr salvator is behaving strangely, he wouldn’t stop looking at ms Ambrose and he even took pictures of her .” This made me alert that bastard was not going to see tomorrow’s sunrise. I turned around to look at her and saw her smiling at something my mother said . Suddenly mr salvator approached her and my mother . Her guards surrounded her and tony who’s name i came to know step forward a bit . Mr Salvator insisted on talking to my mother . It all seemed normal until mr salvator pushed my mother aside and went towards her . Before anyone could do anything he put a table knife on her throat. His other hand was holding her hands . I ran towards them but he pushed the knife deeper in her neck causing few drops of blood to come out . Her eyes widened and she was standing still . Suddenly her face expressions changed . As if sensing something her father shouted “ you bastard ill make you pay for what you just did . Leave my daughter at once .I’ll kill you .” He shouted and took a gun out , my father was backing him on this . He too took his gun out . That bastard laughed “ don’t you dare do anything, I’ll cut her throat out .” He whispered the last part and licked her neck . Her face color was changing, she was turning red . f**k her allergy is increasing . I immediately took my gun out and shot him on his arms which caused him to loose his grip on her . She stumbled and was about to fall when tony caught her . Flynn and the guards took him out . Flynn knows what to do with him . I rushed towards her and saw she was not able to breathe properly. Her eyes were shutting . “ hurry up you bastards.” Mr Ambrose shouted at the guards they brought a case in which i guess were her injections. Tony immediately injected the needle in her forearm . She had her eyes closed . “I’m sorry my child , I couldn’t protect you.” Mr Ambrose whispered . My father said “ lets take her to the hospital .” Everyone agreed when tony was about to pick her i told him I’ll do it . He gave me gloves and i pick her fragile frame up. I went straight to my car and made her sit on my laps . Flynn started the car and we all rushed to the hospital. As we reach there everything was ready for us . We head straight to the vvip room . Even president can’t have this room easily. But it was me who asked for it . Doctor checked her up while we all waited silently. Why can’t this doctor hurry . He was getting on my nerves . After doctor was finished with her checkup he greeted us and said “ good evening everyone. Mr Ambrose she’s fine for now . But you guys need to be extra careful. If this happens again things might get too serious for our liking. You may take her tomorrow morning . And Mr Ambrose i would very much like it if you could meet me tomorrow. I think it has started again.” Mr Ambrose froze when he heard that . What is it that they are talking about. I need to find it . “ I’ll see you tomorrow morning doctor.” When she left the room my father asked him . “ Charlie, what was it about. Is it what I’m thinking about.” Mr Ambrose signed and said “ yes , i think it has started again . But she didn’t tell me anything about it .” Everyone was quite for sometime . An hour has passed and she hasn’t woken up yet . I was loosing my calm so i asked mr Ambrose “ uncle how long will it take for her to wake up ?” . Before uncle could reply we heard a groan from her . I rushed towards her and saw that she was blinking her eyes in confusion. I called her name and she looked at me . My world stopped there . I help her to sit straight and handed a glass of water . Everyone stayed away , afraid they might touch her accidentally. She turned towards me and smiled sweetly . “Thankuu for saving me today.” She said in her little sweet voice . I smiled at her and said “ I’ll always protect you amore.” She smiled and turned towards her father. “How are u feeling my child? Is it burning somewhere ?” Mr Ambrose asked in soft caring tone . She smiled and said “ I’m feeling fine father . Nothing to worry about . I’ll talk to my doctor tomorrow.” Mr Ambrose signed in relief after hearing her reply. My mother started crying and said “ I’m sorry my dear . Please forgive me , it was all my fault. I should have refused him when he asked to talk to me .” Ashley frantically shook her head and said “ no aunt it’s not your fault. Plz don’t be sorry about it .”

My mother was about to say something but was interrupted when doctors came in to check on her . While he was doing his checkup i was eyeing his every movement. I just don’t want him to touch her . When he was done , he turned towards mr Ambrose and said , “ everything is fine for now and she’ll get discharged tomorrow. But there are few things that you need to take care of . For few days she should not over work herself, she need to eat properly which she is not doing. Am i right Ashley? I told u before didn’t I ?” Ashley looked down and started biting her lower lips out of nervousness. Any one can tell , she was hiding something. Doctor signed and said “ anyways I’ll talk to you guys tomorrow. Have a nice evening everyone.” As soon as he left mr Ambrose walked towards his daughter. He asked in worried tone “ princess has it started again? Tell me my child . Is this the reason you are worried ?You should have told us . Since how long you are having that same dream again .” Ashley whispered in a low tone . “ 2 months father .” Her mother gasped from behind me . And walked towards her “ you should have told us my child . Charlie let’s not send her to her mansion. Let her stay with us plz . Ashley almost shouted “ no mother . I am fine , I promise I’ll take better care of myself.” Her mother was about to protest but mr Ambrose interrupted “ i also don’t want to leave you alone . But i also understand you want to stay alone and in your own space . So I’ll not force you . But you have to tell me everything about it in morning. For now we’ll leave you to rest .” She smiled sweetly at her father . “ thankuu father” mr Ambrose help her to lie down and within a few minutes she slept . I think it’s her medicine that’s reacting like this . She was sleeping so peacefully that i want to run my fingers across her face and kiss her until she wakes up .

I turn towards our parents my mother was consoling aunt Lilly . While our father was talking in hush tone . I walked towards them and sat beside my father . My father said “ let’s not worry over it . We’ll let her overcome it again . I really wish we knew that dream started again . She might have been so scared. She was going through all this alone .” I was becoming irritated about this dream that I didn’t have any idea about so i asked “ what dream are you all talking about ?” Everyone looked at me . My father and uncle were looking at each other as if they are having some silent conversation. Uncle Charlie stuttered and said “ well , since you are part of our family so I’ll tell you . But i want you to promise me that you’ll never talk about this to anyone not even Ashley.” I nodded my head . He signed and continued “ when Ashley was five , we all went to a beach vacation. We all were having fun . You and your brother were helping us in cooking and Ashley was building her sand castle. That was the last time i saw her happy. Her eyes was sparkling. And that was the last time I hugged my daughter without any fear . She didn’t had this rare disease .everyone was so busy that we didn’t notice that Ashley was not with us . We all searched for hours . When we reached the place where she was building her castle, we saw a note . It stated that they have Ashley. That’s it . We tried our best to find her as soon as possible. A week just went by and there was still no news about her . It was as if they wanted nothing but her . Then i got a signal from her watch . I gave her that watch to use in case of emergency. She just have to press a button and we’ll get her coordinates . The coordinates i got was from a forest. I still can’t get that image out of my mind . When i found her she was on the floor lying . Blood was coming out from every part of her body . Her pink dress was no more pink . When i took her to hospital. I came to know that her ribs , hands were broken . She was assaulted sexually. My world stopped there . My precious daughter was r***d by those monsters. She was in coma for 5 months . One day when she woke up , she didn’t remember anything. I don’t know if I should be happy about it or sad that I can’t lessen her pain or know what my daughter had gone through. When i hugged her . She screamed and started backing away from me . I thought she was traumatised. She blanked out . We could not understand what was happening to her . She would scratch herself, her allergy would reappear whenever someone touched her . Then mr william who is a renowned doctor and scientist told her about her disease. It was hard to accept it . But mr william said that her body is protecting her . She is traumatised by those bastards touch . And everyone now and then she’ll get the dreams about what happened to her. None of us know what pain she went through.” My heart was broken after hearing what my love went through.
