THIRD PERSON POV Ravenna slipped free of Kael’s arms with a breathless murmur. “I have to go.” The warmth of his body lingered on her skin as she stepped back, her chest heaving and her heart a confused storm inside her. For a long heartbeat, neither of them moved. Kael stood frozen, his hand suspended in the air as if he still felt her cheek beneath his palm. Then she turned, gathering herself quickly before her courage faltered, and walked away from him. Her left hand pressed firmly against her chest as if she could still the wild racing of her heart, while her right palm rubbed her cheek where his touch had burned into her skin.
