It's been a few weeks since Laila and Julien ran off into the woods. I have been able to keep up the ruse that the council allowed the two of them to go off to a pack for me on business. So far, the wolves of Moon Lake and the guests we have here permanently haven't questioned me much about the story, since they know that Mark and I need to stay in the pack in case the vampires decide to invade when we least expect it. Their need for safety overrides their need to make sure my mate is held in the dungeon until she goes into labor.
