~ Luna Laila's POV ~
The pain coursing through my body was unbearable, but not as gut-wrenching as I would have expected d***g from vampire venom to be. I was hoping that the intense pain I was feeling would force Liza to come back through my mind; however, that didn't happened. I was completely and utterly alone in this darkness, feeling the venom filter from the bite on my neck from Prince Kyo through my blood stream. Writhing on the dirty, stone floor brought another amount of pain to my already tender and sore body. I could feel every loose rock as it dug into my back and side while I twisted and turned in agony, agitating the wounds from the a***e I have endured here.
OH MY GODDESS! What is happening to me? I thought while rolling on the floor. I would imagine that d***g from the vampire's bite would be quicker than this. I understand the pain, but it seems to be lasting f*****g forever!
Suddenly, I could hear the thumping of a set of feet coming towards my cell in the dungeon. I tried to move my face to look up at whoever could be here to t*****e me, but the pain I felt at that moment forced me to curl into the fetal position instead and close my eyes.
"What in the world?!" I heard a random masculine voice say, seeming distressed. "I need to go get the prince. This can't be possible! She should be d***g!"
Should be d***g, I thought as I heard the footsteps hastily run back to the doorway of the dungeon and push open the large door to leave.
"AHHHHHHHH!" I screamed into the dark nothingness when the stinging sensation reached throughout my entire body, leaving me completely breathless and in a worthless heap lying on the stone.
Finally, the pain ceased; however, I didn't feel d**d like I should be. I was still here and breathing, heavily at that, as if I were trying to catch my breath after an intense workout. Soon after I caught my breath, I heard multiple footsteps headed in a run towards my cell. I looked up when I realized whoever had come here was just standing at the bars, watching me. Anticipating seeing nothing but darkness like usual without my wolf, I was shocked to find that I could clearly see through the pitch-black cell . Someone who I assumed was a guard and Prince Kyo were standing at the bars of my cell, staring in shock at me.
"What are you two looking at?" I asked, hatred lacing my words, strength and power beginning to course through my body. "Wait a minute, how am I able to see you? I know Liza isn't back and you bit me so I should be dead, but I'm not."
Prince Kyo looked to the supposed guard instead of replying to my questions, "How in the f**k has this happened, Seth?! She should be dead, she is a wolf after all and our venom is usually lethal to them."
"She doesn't really smell like a wolf though," this Seth guy said as he sniffed the air towards me. "And if I am correct about this, her wolf might have left her after being dosed with so much wolfsbane over these past couple of years. If her wolf left her due to the poison, she would evidently have been reverted to human...and not a wolf at all."
The vampire prince glanced at me immediately, "How long has it been since you last talked to your wolf?"
"Umm, the last time I talked to her was when I shifted to fight you about the boys...before that I hadn't shifted or spoken to her in about a year, pretty much since you guys started upping the dosage of wolfsbane in my food and I was denied the chance to see my own pups," I stated while standing up, stretching, and feeling a magic in me.
Seth looked at me in shock and whispered something to the prince, who in turn looked at my body up and down, making me feel disturbed and disgusted.
"Well, I guess it is slightly good news for you then. You have been turned into a superior being, by a prince nonetheless, and no longer have to be chained as a filthy mutt. You do, however, still have to be chained in this cell.," Prince Kyo said while leaning against the cell bars and shrugging his shoulders. "At the least though, your body is healing thanks to the vampire blood being created by your change and you will gain some extraordinary abilities again that you lost by not being in touch with your wolf."
I held my hand to my chest, feeling my now vampiric heart beating fast. My Goddess has forsaken me? I am no longer one of her children and am now a vile creature of the night?! What does this mean for my children, my mate...if I ever see him again, will we still be mates? Will we still love one another like the mate bond facilitated into our hearts and minds? And my children...how can I ever show them how to be wolves if I am not even one myself anymore? I won't be able to shift with them...I won't be able to speak to them through a familial or pack mind link...how can I help the feud against werewolves and vampires and fight for the side I love when I am now a member of the other side? What good am I now, to myself...to anyone? All of these thoughts filtered through my head while I stood shell-shocked in front of my new sire and whoever this Seth guy is.
"Well Laila, welcome to the vampiric family I suppose," Prince Kyo said while beginning to turn around to leave. "I do have to say that I am sorry that I lost my temper on you and managed to apparently sire you, but at least you're not d**d like we both thought you would be."
With that said, Seth and the prince left me in the dank cell once more. However, at least now I am able to see my surroundings and anyone who may come by. I might even be able to fend off any attackers if they come to try and hurt me, since I have some extra strength now.
~ Prince Kyo's POV ~
"D****t, how did I manage to miss that she had become human before I lost it and bit her?!" I yelled in my office at nobody in particular, even though Seth was lounging on a sofa in the room with me.
I paced across the room over and over, trying to get the anger out of my system without hurting anyone or destroying anything. My children have already seen my temper enough, and with how my luck has gone lately, one of them would probably walk into the office as soon as I did anything, I thought. Seth just sat and watched as I spiraled into madness over the situation.
"Well, sir..." he said as he saw me finally calming down and going to sit at my desk. "What is your plan for the prisoner now? She's not a wolf anymore but one of us, and she is after all the mother of your sons..."
He said the last part of that sentence quietly, knowing how things dealing with my boys set me off. I glared at Seth who shifted in his seat uncomfortably.
"I am not going to do anything with her. She will stay in the cell where I had intended on her staying to the end of her days before I ill-advisedly visited her and went off the deep end for a moment. Just a moment of weakness and now I will have to know she is in that cage for the rest of her immortal life," I said while shaking my head at myself.
"We could just not feed her...and then she would d*e sooner from lack of blood," Seth said, trying to brainstorm on what to do with Laila.
I looked over at him feeling an odd sense of anger overtake me once more, "That would be monstrous and we are not like that! I would never deny one of my kind sustenance when they need it, no matter who they are. I will be the king after all and need to show what type of a ruler I will be when I am."
"Okay, so what about letting her out then? She is a vampire now after all and you are her sire. Surely she wouldn't fight against you, especially with the twins being around and being your heirs," Seth commented.
I threw my hands up in exhaustion, "Well I can't do that either! How can I trust that she won't go against us the moment she is able to?!"
"Okay so give her about ten years in the cell maybe, to make sure she knows that you are serious about leaving her there if she doesn't behave, then ask her if she is willing to? If she says she will abide by the rules of your kingdom, let her out to live among her new kind," Seth finally gave some sound advice.
I stood up gleefully, "That sounds like a plan! Let's arrange for someone to bring her some blood in the next few hours and then, we can continue letting her live a few more years in the dungeon. It will surely make her understand that it would be best to stay in line so we will let her out."
"Alright, I will get Isabel or a warrior or someone to bring her some blood soon," my second in command said as we both stood up to leave my office and get on with any duties we have.
~ Luna Laila's POV ~
Well, I might as well try to rest my body and let this new vampiric blood inside finish healing me, I thought while getting up from the middle of the cell flooring and going to a wall to lean on. All of a sudden, I heard a group of voices coming down the hallway to the cell I am in. They sounded like two female and two male voices, none of them sounding friendly. I inhaled deeply and stood while thinking, time for me to test out my new strength I suppose.
As the group got closer to my cell, I could see it was Isabel and a couple of warriors that had come before to t*****e me when I lived in the bedroom before. I noticed another woman a little way behind them, but she was hidden around a corner a bit so that I couldn't see exactly who she was.
"What do you guys want?" I asked the group with a surprising confidence and malice in my voice.
The three at the cell bars unlocked the door and threw it open, walking threateningly into the small space confiding me. One male vampire on either side of Isabel made me wary, but I am bound and determined not to back down.
"We," Isabel said while trying to appear innocent, "Just want to have a little talk with you now that you are one of us. We also have a little present for you that we were asked to deliver, if you behave for us that is."
One of the men held up a little baggy of reddish liquid that immediately had my mouth watering.
"Oh yes, boys. Seems like this newborn vamp might need a little bit of blood. Don't you two think so?" Isabel said mockingly and glanced at either of the men.
Both men nodded their heads and looked towards me like they wanted to eat me.
"Then it seems she needs to behave, right?" Isabel asked towards the men, but meant it as a question for me.
In an instant, the two males jumped forward and grabbed my arms, holding me still. Isabel then walked forward while licking her lips. I tried to struggle in the men's grip, but it didn't seem of any use despite my newfound vampire strength. Must not be as strong as I thought since I haven't even fed any since being turned, I thought.
"What do you want from me?" I asked, trying to gather confidence as I said it and failing miserably.
Isabel tsked at me for trying to seem more powerful than I apparently am and replied as she ran one claw down the side of my face and to my neck, "Oh dear, we just want to have a little taste, is all. A taste of a vampire created from our future king's bite is said to be the most amazing blood you can drink."
