I continued to walk down the path next to the stream, deep in my thoughts about the terrible way I had acted towards Charlotte. And treating her that way in front of so many members of Moon Lake definitely didn't help the situation any. I was so deep in scolding myself as I absentmindedly walked along the water stream that I didn't realize someone had started to walk next to me until I was roughly pushed into the water.
It took a minute to gather myself when I realized what had happened. Falling side down into the creek and having rocks jab into my side made me have to take a breath before I wiped the water out of my eyes and shook my head like a wet dog.
