I watched Jay silently taking in his changing expressions as he spoke to Malachi. Without the mate bond that allowed shared telepathy, I couldn't get past the only thing I noticed as I looked at him. Whatever Malachi, the leader of the vampires had told him was unsettling. I was still thinking about what Morgana had told me and everything that had happened after including the divided reaction after I was announced Alpha but what unsettled me most was the urge to push and know more about Morgana.
