Chapter 4“What happened?” I asked, now on the lawn, the beast, at the very least, tamed. For the time being. But, sad to say, all bets were off when it came to it as of late. “Good news,” said Ted, stroking my forehead. “Your date isn’t dead.” “Obviously,” I groaned, gently moving my nose from side to side, making sure it wasn’t broken. “But he’s clearly pissed about something.” I sat up and stared at his house. “Think you can take him if he tries that again?” “Me?” said Ted. “What about you?” I grinned. “I’m a lover more than a fighter.” “So I’ve noticed,” he replied with a giggle as he helped me to my feet. “In any case, you don’t have a choice.
