HUNTER POV

"Wow, I've never seen a pack congregate like this together," Cromwel said as we all looked about at the gathering, which was alot are dancing and eating, speaking, and excited about something.

He takes a taste of the drink in his hand. I look at him blankly because I can't talk to him right now. As I observe the crowd, the ice in my drinking glass begins to melt.

My wolf continues to roar, snarl, whirl around, and whine. He's the reason I'm not in the mood to chat to people; I'm expecting a headache as a result of his muttering.

"You know what, holding parties like this may be a good idea if we had something like this in our pack," Levi said as the other nodded in agreement.

My wolf merely kept pacing back and forth, paying no heed to our discussion. He only rolled his eyes at my pals before returning to whispering in my brain. He was just concerned with finding our mate in this busy environment.

As the darkness deepened, the sun concealed itself in the mountain. Some individuals have gathered around the campfire and have begun to dance with their mates.

"Where is your mate, Alpha?" Carter questioned, and I gave him a death gaze that made him quickly shut his mouth.

Cromwel and Levi laugh a little, and I snarl at them, forcing them to swallow the spaghetti they're eating rapidly.

I know Carter is a man-w***e because even after I told them Crest was my mate, he kept drooling over her and asking about her all the time, making my wolf even more furious and frustrated. He has no regard for relationships. If he wants someone, he'll go to any length to get it.

I hope Crest doesn't fall for his tricks; if he ever tries to flirt with her, my fist is ready to smack him in the face.

"Alpha Hunter."

I stood up, then I looked to the voice and nodded, "Alpha Silver."

"I'm glad you've made yourself at home, and I hope you're enjoying your time here," he said.

"We are, and thank you for your care."I said.

"Hey, dad, tell me Jill is coming; Jack is worried that all of this will be for nothing," Simon interjects.

"Don't worry son, she's coming; I think the women had a lot of preparations for her that night since they waited too long to show up here," Alpha Silver said.

"Good," Simon groaned, "Jack will absolutely eat us alive if she doesn't come out here; we're running a bit late."

"Don't worry, son; everything will be okay."

"Simon! Don't you dare forsake your duty, get your ass back here,"His sister yelled, and he grumbled and scratched the base of his nose.

My wolf swiftly moved in front of us to observe our mate approaching us.

'Wow. Mate is hot,' he said, wagging his tail and sticking out his tongue.

'Aren't we horny, little rascal?' I said, but he merely rolled his eyes.

I took a deep breath as I prepared to face her in the eyes. She was dressed in a silky white single trap dress with a small split on her left leg. Her curves are seen in every area of the clothing, and her wavy hair is topped with a white carnation flower on its untidy buns.

'She's beautiful, A'right.' I said to my wolf.

'Told you so. Mate with her now!' He rolled his eyes and excitedly gazed back again at our mate.

"Come now, Simon, help me out with Jack; he's on fire!" she said, grabbing her brother's hands, who lazily followed her.

'Oh, that meaty bum!'

'My wolf purred as we saw the curve of Crest's waist and her peach-shaped buttocks.

'Will you please stop?' I scowled at him. I can't concentrate to face this situation with all of his whining in my head.

After a little pause. Alpha Silver moves to the center of the crowd, causing the pack members to stop dancing or doing whatever they were doing. They devote their whole attention to their Alpha.

"Ladies and gentlemen, this night is very special for us, as we were not only going to witness the sacred mate bond ceremony, but also a very special occasion for the two wolves to unite for the rest of their lives." He said, smiling at the male wolf. I guess his name was Jack, who was dressed in a white polo with blue pants. In fact, they were all dressed in white cotton.

Alpha Silver motioned his hand towards the band, which was playing serious lovely music, and suddenly a group of female wolves emerged from a door near the home. A gorgeous woman dressed in a long gown stood in the center. That might be Jill, I suppose. The ladies in front of her are throwing various little bouquets as they walk down the aisle. What is this a wedding?

When the woman approached the man, Jack kneeled and pulled out a small box, saying, "Jill, I knew the moment we met that you were going to be my mate in the future, and I am just so lucky that it came true. The Goddess has blessed us with a mate bond, but I want our soul, heart, and human body to bond for life. Will you marry me?"

Everyone had their own 'aw' looks, and some were crying.

"Yes," she said, and they instantly formed an embrace and kiss, causing everyone to gasp, yell, and clasp their hands.

When I glanced at Crest, I noticed her lovely bright grin. She clapped slowly with teary eyes.

'That may be you and Crest someday,' my wolf remarked.

'Perhaps,' I responded gently.

"Congratulations," Alpha Silver said as he greeted the two. "We may now continue our celebration, South Pack!"

Everyone has moved into their own place and is eating, dancing, and talking. Then a wonderful tune sounded out, and every male wolf sprang up and began to search for a partner. Some were already dancing with their mates.

My gaze is drawn to a tall man dressed in a fitting navy long sleeve, and moved closer to where Crest was standing. He extended his hands and invited her to dance.

'Shvt, that man has some nerve!' My wolf quickly snarled. I tried to control him and myself to what we are seeing now.' That dude has guts! 'My wolf growled swiftly. I attempted to keep him and myself from reacting to what we were witnessing now.

They were dancing gently in the middle of the area. That man's hand is on Crest's waist, while her hand is in his back shoulder, and the rest are held together beside them.

I closed my eyes and took a long breath. I know I'm being dumb by not claiming what's rightfully mine right away, but I'm not going to make a fool of myself in order to cause scandal among this crowd. I must exercise self-control. I'm only here for business, but I've extended my stay to study her. My heart ached even more as I stared at them for a longer period of time. No! I will not give in to this mate thing, no matter how much it kills me.

"Hunter?" I snapped out to meet my Gamma's worried face.

"Are you okay, buddy?" Levi inquired.

"Yeah. I'm fine. Why, is there a problem?" I asked, which made him exchange looks with Cromwel and Carter.

"Uh. No. Nothing. You were just-"

"I hope you're having fun and would be willing to join us on our pack run." Levi didn't complete his sentence as Alpha Silver approached us and mentioned running. We all glance around at the mob that has already assembled, and some are getting ready to shift.

"This is a ritual of ours; after the engagement, we shall flee into the woods in our wolf form," Alpha Silver explained.

My wolf yipped. 'This is great, let me out!' He urged ecstatically.

"Sure. We'd love to join the pack run." I replied, ignoring my wolf. He nodded and returned to the crowd.

I unwillingly agreed to my wolf and unbuttoned my shirt, disregarding the unmated girls' stares, and my wolf emerged rapidly. He swiftly stretched his arms and legs before pointing his snout to the sky in search of his mate. Then a familiar fragrance caught my attention, and my wolf dashed towards it.

She was standing next to another she wolf. Her wolf has a hazelnut brown hue, and her tail was long and furry.

'Let's get her tail!'

'What!?'

'I want her tail!'

Without a minute for me to protest, my wolf went around her back. He quietly crawled towards her as she keep on chatting with her friend. He wags his tail excitedly as he was about to approach her closer.

'What are you doing?' I asked Fury, but he was too busy to hear me.

'Mate is pretty, her tail is good!'

'Stop this nonsense, rascal!'

'No! Mate is cute.'

He keeps on getting closer and closer, and it's a surprise that she hasn't noticed us yet. He waited patiently for the right timing until one second later he catched her tail between his teeth.

'Crap.' I facepalmed myself.

She whimps and turned her head towards him as we stood there with her tail in our teeth. We stared at her frozen, with her dilated blue eyes.

'Shvt! What have you done, Fury!' I cursed in my head.

A moment of silence took over us, as the other wolves stared at us. She blinked and blushed, then barked at us before pulling herself away from us. She gave us a death glare, but my wolf replied to her with a wolfish grin, and laughed.

'S—she's too cute with that face!' Fury continued to laugh. She then barked again and kicked us, then ran towards her father. My wolf, on the other hand, just grinned and chuckled again, as if what he did wasn't embarrassing for an alpha to act.

This was the first time in my life that I embarrassed myself in front of everyone. My beta as well as the others had a surprised looked on their faces while their lips twitched to smile.

'Look at her! Those bum bums.' He jokingly stated.

'Oh, stop!' I snarled at him.

'You're just jealous, 'coz I've touched mate, you couldn't!'

Great. Just great. I want to slap him without causing pain to myself.
