Nightfall came, and it was Damian's turn to keep watch and patrol the border. Alongside him were his good friends, future alpha Lucas and future gamma Jason.
Damian dressed in his attire for the night, wearing his combat uniform. The well-built and tall frame of his body filled the uniform, and Olivia could seemingly see his solid muscles.
She gazed at her mate through the mirror, making plans in her mind. But when she looked at Damian's handsome face and sexy physique, a spark of desire flickered in her eyes. Her wolf wagged its tail, seemingly encouraging her to approach their mate.
However, Olivia knew tonight was not the right time.
Damian caught the look in Olivia's eyes. He walked up behind her, embracing her from behind, and whispered into her sensitive neck, "Don't think about me." His hot lips and eager kisses sent shivers down her spine.
Olivia tilted her head back and let out a soft moan, causing Damian's Adam's apple to bob. Damian held Olivia even tighter, pulling her body closer to his sturdy and steel-like frame.
"You're so sexy," Olivia couldn't help but think. She pressed her neck against Damian, intensifying his desire to kiss her.
The air inside the room grew more alluring as Damian's lips murmured against Olivia's. After a brief but fiery kiss, he gasped and said to Olivia, "I really want to mark you right now." With that, his lips moved to her sensitive neck, the place where he would mark her in the future.
Olivia chuckled, "Let's wait for the ceremony."
"But I can't wait any longer," Damian abruptly pulled Olivia's body towards him, his strong arms enveloping her as he passionately kissed her. Olivia was left dizzy by his kisses, her hands holding onto his neck, skillfully teasing him with her agile tongue.
"Mmm," Damian moaned as his hand moved to the edge of Olivia's T-shirt and slipped inside her clothing.
"Mmm!" Olivia eagerly offered her body, their bodies pressed tightly together, with only their garments separating them.
Suddenly, Damian wrapped his arms around Olivia's legs while teasing her with his tongue. Olivia responded by skillfully lifting herself and wrapping her legs around his waist.
They had experienced such intimacy countless times before. However, their pack forbade werewolves, especially female wolves, from engaging in intimate acts with the opposite s*x before finding their mate. Therefore, they had never made love.
Damian carried Olivia to the bed, and she lay down, allowing Damian's solid and scorching body to come close. More kisses and caresses followed. The pressure of Damian's body brought pleasure to the very core of her being.
Olivia's hands roamed desirefully over Damian's heated chest, and she began to breathe softly, unable to resist anymore.
"Stop!" Suddenly, that voice echoed in Olivia's mind. The voice from before influenced her, making her desire to go forth, accompanied by an intoxicating sensation.
"Who are you?" Olivia mind-linked back, but the other person seemed to sense Olivia's previous fervor and remained silent. However, the power that affected Olivia was still present.
"Who the hell is it?" Olivia felt a mix of anger and disappointment. She couldn't quite explain why, but there was a part of her that had been anticipating that voice and the inexplicable desire that made her go crazy.
"What's wrong?" Damian noticed her distraction. Olivia shook her head and quickly pecked Damian's lips. "You're about to leave, or you'll be late."
Damian chuckled and gave her one final kiss. "Once these damn rogues are dealt with, we can continue with what we have planned."
Olivia nodded with a smile, looking forward to it as well. But her thoughts were still drawn to the voice from earlier.
Soon, she saw Damian furrowing his brow. It was evident that someone was mind-linking him.
"What's up?" she asked.
"Amy has been captured," Damian said, standing up and adjusting his attire. "These damn rogues."
"What?" Olivia exclaimed. Amy was the gamma's youngest daughter, Jason's little sister, not even nine years old.
"These rogues are insane," Olivia thought.
After bidding her farewell, Damian left. Olivia was worried about Amy. She had been Amy's babysitter and had a deeper connection with her. Moreover, Amy was a member of their pack.
"If you want to save her, leave the city alone," the voice mind-linked her again.
"Who are you?" Olivia couldn't contain her anger any longer. "You won't even spare a nine-year-old girl."
Yet, silence was the response she received. She could even sense the man's anger, causing her to tightly grip the bedsheet.
After a while, he spoke again. "Come alone in a car. Remember, alone. If you dare to inform anyone else..."
"I swear I'll tear that girl's body apart." Then, he forcefully and coldly severed the connection.
This lunatic.
Olivia quickly got up and prepared to leave. She couldn't toy with Amy's life.
But from that moment on, Olivia would forever regret her decision.
As it turned out, playing the hero alone was dangerous. Just like now, Olivia was bound and helpless in the hands of several rogues.
Olivia had never been more aware that she was going to die here tonight, in this deserted place.
Her hands were tightly bound by adhesive tape, and she couldn't break free. Her left cheek was swollen, and her right arm was severely bruised. All of this was because of the three rogues standing in front of her.
Noah, the rogue King, stared at her with eyes as cold as ice. His two henchmen, Hank and Zach, had greedy and lecherous looks on their faces.
Olivia closed her eyes in disgust. She shouldn't have listened to the signal earlier and come alone to find these rogues. Although Noah was now preparing to release Amy, as they had agreed before.
"You can go back alone," Noah crouched down and looked at the pitiful little Amy. Amy trembled, clutching her doll tightly. Tears filled her eyes.
Then, she looked at Olivia, who was bound. Tears had already blurred her vision.
"Don't be afraid, Amy," Olivia reassured her through mind-link. But at this moment, it was Olivia who needed comforting. Because she noticed Noah's smirk as he glanced at her, with a look that hunters have when they see their prey.
"Don't worry, Olivia came here to exchange herself for you," Noah gently ran his hand through Amy's hair. Olivia was surprised to find that he could be gentle with people too.
However, his gentleness sent shivers down Olivia's spine. Was this devil putting on an act?
"You promised to release Amy," Olivia shouted, concerned that the crazy and barbaric rogue, Noah, might go back on his word.
But Noah ignored her and continued to speak tenderly to Amy, "Don't worry, just follow the road back home,"
He then turned Amy's body in the direction of her pack. "Keep running in that direction and mind-link your family when you're close to your pack."
Noah was surprisingly gentle, and Olivia stared at him with wide eyes. Even though Amy had been trying to avoid him, and his two henchmen were eager to tear her apart because of the girl's crying. Noah stopped them with his gaze and patiently comforted Amy.
Olivia even thought she might be hallucinating.
It wasn't until Amy spread her legs and ran toward home, creating enough distance, that Olivia breathed a sigh of relief.
But when the three men turned their attention back to her, her nerves tightened once again.
No, she couldn't die here. Her parents were still waiting for her, her mate Damian was waiting to embrace her and mark her.
She had to find a way back, to leave this place alive.
As a Delta trained since childhood, she had always been confident in her combat skills. But tonight, she tried to resist, tried to escape, yet no matter how powerful she thought she was, she was no match for three male rogues who were always on the brink of danger.
Mind-link didn't work as she was out of range of her pack. She shouldn't have come alone to save Amy in these woods, but that devil didn't allow her to tell anyone, using Amy's life as leverage. She couldn't gamble with Amy's life.
But now wasn't the time for regret and despair; she was on the brink of death.
She couldn't help but look at the rogue King, Noah. He sensed her gaze and slowly curved his lips. But it wasn't a smile; it was the triumph of victory. He was telling her that she could never defeat him. And her reckless actions tonight had pleased him.
Olivia was a brave she-wolf, one of the finest warriors in the pack. But she had to admit that tonight, she had been deceived by some kind of power.
Olivia told herself that she only wanted to capture these criminals. But there was another reason, one she could never admit to herself: she wanted to see this man who stirred her heart and had a connection with her similar to a mate bond.
However, Olivia deeply regretted it. From Noah's icy gaze, she knew that he could never be her mate.
Besides, she already had Damian. But why would the Moon Goddess play such a cruel joke on her?
"Don't struggle, beauty. You can't escape," the rogue named Hank smirked triumphantly, his eyes not hiding his greed and desire for Olivia's body.
"Disgusting man," Olivia wished she could transform into a wolf and tear his throat apart, gouging out his repulsive eyes.
"Hank, have you found out her identity?" A low, smoky voice resonated. Olivia couldn't help but tremble.
The voice belonged to Noah, and his powerful aura and words terrified Olivia.
Her wolf started to stir, and she caught that scent again. It was the same scent she had detected earlier, the one that captivated her. It was also an important reason why she wanted to take a chance and venture out of the car alone to rescue Amy. Saving Amy was just one of the reasons.
Noah glanced at Olivia, his eyes cold, sending shivers down her spine.
What was happening to her? Why did she feel the same as when she met her mate, Damian, again?
Olivia noticed a flicker of coldness in Noah's icy eyes. She gritted her teeth to calm herself down. If this man hadn't been so powerful that she couldn't resist, she would have escaped with only two rogues left!
"Maybe we should just kill her," one of the rogues nodded slightly and replied, "As a comfort to our fallen brothers?" Although he greedily glanced at Olivia once again. The nauseating feeling made Olivia's body tremble.
The other rogue, Zach, looked at Olivia with a certain gleam in his eyes, "No matter what you plan to do with her, I'll have a taste of her first." His greedy eyes disgusted Olivia.
"I haven't touched a woman in a long time," Zach said.
