Chapter 6
Janet’s recovery time was staggering. I had barely taken ten deep breaths when she rolled over to face me.
“Let’s go upstairs. There’s more room there.”
She stood up and reached for my hand and we padded our way out of the room and up a flight of stairs in the foyer. She led me into a room at the top of the stairs. Her bedroom was enormous. It was superbly decorated and there was a king-size bed.
She turned to look into my face.
“You are incredible,” she whispered. “I’ve seen you conduct before but it was never like tonight.” She leaned forward and kissed me. Like the others, it had an extra special feel to it. I wanted to sink into it with everything I possessed
“You made that happen,” I said softly.
“No.” She shook her head. “I just opened the door. You walked out.”
