Chapter 18 That Tuesday morning we were sitting at the kitchen table drinking coffee when someone knocked on the back door and opened it. “Good morning!” A tall woman, about my age, walked into the room. “Hi! Come on in!” Janet called. The woman came in and gave Janet a warm kiss on the cheek, then she looked at me. “This is Shelby Flynn,” she told the woman. “Shelby, my sister Judy Grant.” We shook hands and then she walked over to the cupboard and took a mug. She poured herself a cup of coffee, returned, and pulled out a chair to sit down. “You’re the orchestra conductor, aren’t you?” she asked. “Yes, I am.” “I’m sorry I missed your last concert.
