Chapter 24
The next week was hell for me. The spring concert was two weeks away but I felt confident that everything would be ready. I spent the days going through libraries looking for music for next year. I spent days getting the programming done and my nights in my apartment, pacing. I was angry at her. I couldn’t believe she’d acted that way. What right did she have to treat me like that? If she treated everyone who wanted to get close to her like that, no wonder she’d been alone for five years. Part of me was still furious with her, the other part just wanted to get this over with. I wanted to move on to other things and leave this all behind.
I came up to my apartment with my mail and sat down to sort through it. There were three advertisements, the electric bill, and two envelopes
