SHE WOKE UP FACE DOWN on land, and gentle waves lapped at her body. She was alive, but she couldn’t move—it felt like something was broken. It was also unbelievably cold.
Akshara rolled herself over and screamed as she realized her leg was broken. A bone was sticking out through the flesh, and blood was everywhere.
“Erevia!” she called out. But the sorceress gave no answer.
“I brought you where you wanted to go,” the voice of Tars’keli said.
As Akshara managed to sit up, she saw a woman coming towards her in a flowing red robe. Her long black hair was longer than it had ever been, but Akshara recognized her now—it was Fari!
