After all of that drama, it was calming to have a little bit of silliness. Even Alex had laughed at us. I would have given him a hard time about the kisses if my stomach hadn't growled loudly. Now I was sitting in the private dining room eating with Alex and the kids. Phoenix let Sapphire do most of the talking as he always did. I smiled softly as Saph told us all about a dream she had the night before about a giant teddy bear she made friends with.
Though I was enjoying my time with them all, I had a nagging feeling in my gut. Something that would not go away. I poked at my food more than I ate it. Alex took notice of this as the kids were finishing their food. He frowned deeply and then turned to the kids.
