Alexander As Cass drifted off to sleep, I felt a brief sense of relief. I clenched my jaw harshly as I laid her down on the bed softly. I ran my fingers through her hair lightly. "Why you Cass?" I felt anger fill me. I stood and walked to the balcony and looked up to the sky. "Take it back you cruel bastards!" I growled into the empty sky. "I don't know what sick game this is for you but I refuse to be your pawn in it." I wouldn't let anybody put Cass in danger. Not even the gods themselves.
