The rookie policeman fast asleep in his chair didn’t notice the man quietly enter the room. It was almost five in the morning and the man was dressed in scrubs and surgical mask with a stethoscope around his neck. The young patient was also sleeping, his wrist handcuffed to the sturdy railing of the hospital bed.
The man went to work quickly, injecting a lethal dose of morphine through the port on the drip. He switched off the heart monitor before stealthily slipping from the room.
