Chapter #5: Three Way Street

546 Words
As the group arrived at Sarah’s apartment, they got out of the van Sarah had been driving and ushered themselves into her cabin. Fortunately, the kitchen was more spacious and already had chairs set up at the table. The entire group sat down at the kitchen table; George and Hita included. Sarah offered everyone some beverages and they all mingled until Duke spoke up. “So….to the new people. We apologize for the smaller meeting space, but we usually don’t have this much people to organize. The New Mecha Warriors have just been a smaller group, up until this point. If this place is too small, we can move out meetings to our training building,” he said. “No no, this is mighty fine apartment,” George said. “Yeah, this is fine…..cozy as one would put it,” Hita said. “Thanks…. we try. Myself and Keiji mostly live here,” Sarah said. “Us 3 have a separate apartment down the hallway – about 4 doors down,” Ricky jumped in and motioned to himself, Hella and Duke. “That’s good, so you all live close to each other,” Hita said. “We saw it as a chance to keep in touch with one another, yeah,” Ricky said. “You all must be really close…” Hita said. “Very,” Ricky said. “I’d trust these people with my life.” “Feelings mutual ol’pal,” Duke said. “So, what’s our next move?” George said. Keiji who had been quiet this entire time, was letting everyone get to know each other before chiming in again. However, at this he cleared his voice and spoke up. “I feel as though we should decide together; we need leads though…..” Keiji said. Hella looked at Keiji thoughtfully before responding. “I could investigate the ship Zeta Society came in again….I’m sure I could fine something,” Hella said. “I’ll come with you,” Duke said. “Very well, that’s one split team going to the docks,” Keiji said. There was a moment’s pause before Ricky followed up. “I think it would be necessary to have more people on our side this time. Zeta society brought with them a whole lot of people. Even with 7 of us, it would still not be enough…” Ricky said. “What do you have in mind Ricky?” Keiji asked. “I was thinking we could recruit the Mecha Station police into our ranks. Not officially, but just as a substitution for man power,” Ricky said. “Done…I’ll head with you over to Fox’s office and let them know,” Keiji said. “That leaves myself, George and Hita,” Sarah said. “I can monitor communications for now while at the apartment. Give you guys a heads up if anything interesting pops up…” Hita offered. “Sounds good,” Keiji said. “Alright everyone, be safe, and let’s track these Zeta society members down.”
