In the world of wolves, a mate rejected by her Alpha in public has only one fate—exile.

On her eighteenth birthday, Lila waits for Alpha Kallen to declare her as his fated mate. She has waited six years, ever since she first saw him at twelve. What she gets instead is a single sentence: “She was a mistake.”

Cast out from the Moon Shadow Pack on the same night, Lila discovers she is pregnant. No shelter. No food. Only the wilderness and the hunters Kallen sends to finish the job. He doesn't just want her gone—he wants her dead.

But when death closes in, something ancient stirs inside her. A bloodline thought extinct for a thousand years awakens—the White Wolf, the ancestral power that rules over all Alphas. When four trained warriors fall to their knees before her, unable to resist the force radiating from her veins, Lila understands the truth: she was never a worthless orphan. She is the one thing every Alpha is born to obey.

In the wild, she meets Ronan, a rogue Alpha cast out by his own pack. He recognizes the scent of the White Wolf on her and offers a deal: he will teach her to survive and fight, and in return, she will grant him protection when she rises. Lila accepts. From the ashes of her old life, a new pack is born—White Moon, a haven for the rejected, a force no Alpha dares to ignore.

But the awakening of the White Wolf draws attention from across the land. Sebastian, an ancient Alpha from the frozen North, arrives carrying secrets of a curse only her blood can break. Aiden, a prince of an enemy pack, is sent to assassinate her—and finds himself her captive instead. And far away in Moon Shadow territory, Kallen finally realizes what he threw away. Not a mistake. Fate itself.

The Rejected Luna's Crown is an epic tale of power, vengeance, and the choices that define us. When Lila returns to Moon Shadow with the strength of the White Wolf behind her, Kallen kneels and asks if they can go back to the way things were.

Chapter 1: Judgment Under the Moon
On my eighteenth birthday, my Alpha publicly rejected me. No—rejected wasn’t the right word. He erased me. As if he’d taken a knife and carved me clean out of his life, then told the world I had never existed at all. The bonfire roared at the center of the celebration, sparks snapping as they leapt into the night sky. Silver ribbons draped across the entire Moon Shadow Pack territory, shimmering under the full moon. The scent of roasted meat drifted through the air, so rich it made even the warriors stationed on patrol swallow hard. All of it had been prepared for me. Eighteen. My coming-of-age ceremony. The ritual that would reveal my fated mate. The day every she-wolf dreams of. I had dreamed of it too. Pathetic, right? Looking back, I’d been waiting for this day for six years. Ever since I first saw Karen Bloodfang when I was twelve. He had just become Alpha then—so young it was almost unbelievable. His black hair gleamed coldly under the moonlight as he stood on the high platform, accepting the congratulations of every clan. From beginning to end, he never smiled. People whispered that the new Alpha was distant, untouchable. But I believed he just hadn’t met the right person yet. I thought that person would be me. God, I was such a fool. “Lyla.” The Elder’s voice snapped me out of my thoughts. I drew in a breath and stepped forward onto the petal-strewn stone path. The pack’s eyes clung to me—some curious, some envious, some genuinely warm. I spotted Old Mary in the crowd, winking at me as she clutched the shawl I’d mended for her. I smiled back. Looking back now, that was the last real smile I gave that day. Karen stood waiting on the platform. He wore the Alpha’s ceremonial robes—deep blue, the Moon Shadow crest embroidered in silver across his shoulders. Firelight danced over his face, catching in his gray-blue eyes. He didn’t look at me. Not once. Not from the moment I stepped onto the platform. I should have realized something was wrong. After everything between us, when had he ever ignored me like this in public? But my heart was racing too fast, my palms damp. I could only think of what was about to happen—he would take my hand, announce before the entire pack that I was his fated mate, chosen by the Moon Goddess. Then we would— “I, Karen Bloodfang, Alpha of the Moon Shadow Pack, hereby declare—” His voice cut through the air, cold as frozen steel. I lifted my gaze, waiting for the words I had held onto for six long years. “The Moon Goddess has not granted her blessing.” The fire crackled. For a moment, I didn’t understand. What did that even mean? “There is no destined bond between Lyla and me.” His voice wasn’t loud, but it didn’t need to be. Every word carried the weight of Alpha authority, sharp and undeniable. Whispers rippled through the crowd, rising like a swarm of insects, buzzing into my ears. My legs felt weak. “She—” He paused. Just for a second. Then he looked at me. There was nothing in his eyes. No regret. No hesitation. Not even a trace of warmth. It was the same look he would give while stating a simple fact—like bad weather, or a mistake that needed correcting. Yes. A mistake. “She’s a mistake.” The words fell, final and absolute. The bonfire still burned. The ribbons still fluttered. The feast still filled the air with its rich scent. But my world had already collapsed. Old Mary’s shawl slipped from her hands and fell to the ground. No one moved to pick it up. I wanted to speak. I wanted to ask why. To demand answers. To remind him of the words he whispered to me just last night. To tell him that this morning, I had discovered something that should have changed everything— I was pregnant. With his child. The truth lodged in my throat like a bone, impossible to swallow, impossible to spit out. My lips parted, but no sound came. Then I saw the way everyone was looking at me. Those eyes—those same eyes—had changed. Curiosity twisted into mockery. Envy turned into satisfaction. A few women who had never liked me exchanged glances, their smiles barely concealed. Others watched with cold detachment, like they had known all along how this would end. Only Old Mary looked different. Her eyes were red. I couldn’t bear to meet her gaze. I was afraid that whatever fragile thing remained inside me—pride, dignity, something unnamed—would shatter completely. Karen turned and walked away. His robe brushed against the platform, stirring a faint cloud of dust. His back was as straight and commanding as it had been six years ago. The only difference was that back then, I had been looking up at him. Now, I stood beside him—only to be crushed beneath him. The Elder cleared his throat, his tone as indifferent as if he were announcing tomorrow’s hunt. “By clan law, any mate publicly rejected by the Alpha shall be exiled to the Unclaimed Lands. Effective immediately.” Immediately. No farewells. No time to gather my things. Not even a moment to look back at the small cottage I had called home for eighteen years. Two guards stepped forward and seized my arms. This was the moment I should have broken down. Begged for mercy. Thrown myself at Karen and demanded the truth. But I did nothing. I let them drag me down from the platform, through the crowd, and past the village gates I had crossed every day of my life. The bonfire shrank behind me. A loose ribbon fluttered in the wind and drifted to my feet. I stepped over it. At the edge of the wilderness, I glanced back. No one came after me. The gates slammed shut. I turned toward the endless darkness ahead and placed a hand over my abdomen. It was still flat, still silent—but I knew. Something was there. A life. Unwanted before it had even begun. “Don’t be afraid,” I whispered, my voice rough and unsteady. “Mommy’s here.” That was the first night of my exile. The moon hung full and bright above me. The Moon Shadow Pack always said a full moon was the Moon Goddess’s greatest blessing. But that night, its light felt cold as a blade. Only later did I understand— It was the first lesson the Moon Goddess ever gave me. In the world of wolves, no one will save you. Not the one you would have died for. Not even yourself.
