Alice POV
I focused back on scrolling through the TV, trying to pick the best movie to watch. My fingers paused as I pulled my phone off speaker and pressed it gently to my ear.
“Let me help you,” My voice came through, calm but with a hint of something I couldn’t quite place.
I could feel Brian eyes on me, watching.
“Alice, I don’t want it to seem like—”
I cut him off, selecting a high school series on the screen. “It won’t seem like anything. Just send the file.”
“Alice.”
I raised an eyebrow without looking away. “Send it now.”
He hesitated, then I added softly, “Please, Sam. Trust me.”
“Okay, I’ve sent it. Check your email.”
I checked and there it was.
“Thank you.”
“Okay.”
