Chapter 7. Think Of Another Plan

Old master James who was silent all this while finally spoke up.

''Selina, you are my granddaughter and I can't watch you suffer that is why we are suggesting this to you.''

He then said earnestly, '' But if you don't like it then so be it. We will just invest in your company to show our good will. ''

Mathew and Franklin were surprised by their father's words. wasn't the plan to make them divorce? they thought.

'' Okay grandpa. Since you wish to invest, then I'll be more than grateful to oblige. Since we are family after all.'' Selina said after giving it some thought.

Old master James stood up, with hands behind his back, he said,'' Lets talk about this tomorrow as I'm already old and tired. It's good to have you back in the family.''

He then left with his entourage.

Selina and family then went back to their hotel.

In the hotel bedroom.

'' I still don't believe they you guys and want to reunite. They must have ulterior motives. '' Kelvin said concerned.

Grace was triggered ,'' How can you say that. They are even willing to join our company by investing. Although I don't agree eurh their divorce agenda. I'm starting to think otherwise .''

''Mom I too think something is amiss. But I can't put my finger on it. We just have to wait for them to bring it out.'' Selina voiced out her opinion.

Grace was still doubtful but decided nit to talk back.

'' Dad why did you change the pan at the last minute. We could have used Grace as a breakthrough to Selina. Make her divorce, entice her with family then send her off to the warlord in the Congo, Africa.'' Mathew said to his father.

He was angry at his father but he dare not show it.

Franklin chimed in at this moment, '' We should just think of another plan since dad ruined the other one.''

'' Why don't we just kidnap Selina and send her over to the warlord. Why do we have to be discussing this?'' Charles said, drawing the angry stares from his elders before him.

'' Why don't we just send you over to be his plaything. '' Mathew reprimanded his son.

The Smith family had long since reached their limit in the city and were this close to being out of the top ten families in Liberty city.

Hence the went to the Congo in Africa to invest. Charles was given the lead role as he would take be patriarch in future. This was also a great opportunity to learn and for him to mature.

However, fooled around with women. Offending a warlord in the process. He hurried back home. The warlord took the Smith family workers as hostage and demanded compensation. Else he would takeover their company.

He wanted a plaything from the Smith family given them three months.

That was the reason they invited Selina's family back. Since she was already pregnant, it made no different. The only important thing to them was not losing the company they had set up.

It was bou.d to make them one of the top three if it was successful.

With only one month left, the were walking in egg shells.

Franklin suggested they look for other ways to force Selina into submission.

They brainstormed the whole night before deciding on a breakthrough from Kelvin.

Selina and family returned to discuss the terms.

Old master James and his sons sat main seat. Whiles Selina and family sat opposite them.

They had agreed to pressure Kelvin to initiate the divorce with Selina. They had heard he had an inferiority complex and was timid at home.

They first started with their investment in Smith Corporation.

Both parties agreed on an initial investment of 50 million cedis for 20% of the company shares. This made them one of the biggest shareholders in the company.

They then went on discuss the conditions as to which they would rejoin the family. It was then that old master James and his sons put pressure on Kelvin to leave their daughter.

This time they didn't allow Selina or Grace to intervene. They used 'We want to see how capable he is' to remind Selina and Grace that Kelvin was a good-for-nothing man and had no background or capabilities.

Fortunately for Selina and vice versa for the Smiths, Kelvin had long let go of his inferiority complex. He was now able to look people in the eye and spoke with the confidence that seem to come out of the heavens itself.

He was able to answer the question put before him. Even when it came to business administration. He answered them perfectly giving them the impression of someone who seemed to have infinite knowledge.

It was not because Kelvin was reborn or cultivation. But it was because of the various self help books, Self improvements, business booms and ones on how to talk like a boss.

And it was because he was an A student back in school. He was able to remember it all after thorough think. That was his secret.

But how was the Smith family to know about this. Even Selina and Grace were blown away by how much Kelvin knew.

Their impression of him improved by leaks and bound that day. Grace was even doubting if the man before her was still the useless son-in-law she knew.

Selina too realized that the man before her had changed and would be able to accomplish the task set before him.

Spending the rest of my life with him isn't that bad. Selina thought. Why do I has the feeling that he can turn 1 million into 10 million or more in six.

'' Kelvin, how would you face of challenges if you were to offend people you aren't supposed to.'' Mathew said seemingly frustrated at not being able to find the breakthrough with Kelvin.
