The little garden walks between Dominic and Aria seemed more important now that Lila and Nova had moved in. Though Dominic noticed that his daughter seemed a little quiet today as they followed along the stamped pathway.
“How do you feel about Miss Nova and Lila living with us for a little bit, princess?”
Aria beamed up at her father, her red hair tossing over her shoulder as she did. “I love having Miss Nova here! I know she’s not my mom,” she made sure to assure her dad, “but having her here all the time is the next best thing.”
Dominic smiled, understanding how his daughter felt. “And what about Lila? How are things with her?”
His daughter’s smile faded slightly. “Better, I think. She still likes Emma more than me, but I think she also likes me more than she used to.”
