I made sure Aria and I were on the front steps when Susie got back from picking up Lila and Emma from school. Lila actually tackled me to the ground with a huge hug, and I could feel the relief pouring out of her that I was right where I said I’d be.
Aria and I had made a huge chalk drawing of the country and all its parks on the back patio earlier in the day. We showed it to Lila and Emma, who were satisfactorily impressed. They were also very excited when we explained the game we had invented, which combined math, tag, and geography using the map we’d created.
