Serenading

Arfah POV  I got dressed staring at myself as the makeup artist tied my head tie, I was wearing a tight fitting top and skirt made of a blue and white Ankara. The top had two layers, with a flower pattern around the chest area while it had a mid length arm to go with it and an A Shaped skirt to complete the look. My makeup was simple I didn't wanna cake my face and was going with a neutral and natural look. I walked out of the dressing room and into the studio to find muayyad in a blue kaftan matching the color blue on my Ankara, a matching cap and black covered shoes with a wrist watch to tie the look together. In other words he looks handsome as ever. "You took your time" he mumbles his eyes still on his phone "You can't rush art" I reply which finally got his attentions as he raises his head from his phone to look at me with a smirk "Not too shabby, now let's get this over with" he slip his phone into his pocket looking at the photographer for directions. I stood in front of him placing his hands on my waist while mine slide to his upper right arm and I held it " let's make art baby" I say with a big smile as the photographer snaps away  I turn to look at him left hand around his neck and the other on his chest while he still hand his on my waist, he actually was making an effort giving the fact that he was trying to give the best smile he could conjure which could pass off as a genuine smile. We switched a lot including me sitting and he standing behind me hand on my shoulder as mine sat on my lap . We took a break and music was played to calm the atmosphere, it was trey songz nobody but you which was my jam. 'I don't want nobody else but you' I sang softly turning to look at him with a huge smile as he shakes his head, and let's just say we serenaded each other without knowing it was being recorded the whole time while we innocently wanted to break the ice between us. ' Mufeedah  I still couldn't believe that muayyad was getting married , I sat at the hospital lounge feeling weak and dizzy from a long shift. When he first told me I thought it was some sick joke, but I soon came to understand that wasn't the case at all  Flashback..... "So I told mama that orange wasn't my color and I wasn't getting the bag" i finish the story with a pout, I noticed he was absent minded and wasn't truly listening to what I was saying  " muayyad are you listening to me ?" That seemed to get his attention as he turn to look at me shaking his head with a sigh  "I need to tell you something fifi" he says in a low tune I roll my, it's his mom and her dramatic ass. The woman hated me and the same could be said for me, she wanted muayyad to break up with me and I knew that would never happen as I got him wrapped around my finger. The b***h was just dramatic and annoying just like her daughter. "Fifi I don't even know how to say this but here it goes , I'm getting married" I nod with a smile  " I know baby we've been talking about that and I told you, my parents won't accept until you're at a certain level that's why we're waiting for that big promotion remember ?"  He shakes his head  "No fifi you still don't get it, I mean my parents are making me marry someone else and I'm so so sorry but there's nothing I can do about it" I could hear his voice breaking and the guilt in his words and my head still couldn't believe what I was hearing  " so you're getting married to someone else ? When ?" " in two months, her family set the date and it wasn't something I can control" I felt numb, my finger nails biting into my skin as I close my eyes trying to keep my emotions in check  Present time..... I still felt that bitter taste in my mouth, I couldn't say I loved muayyad. I did greatly care if him and that's about how deep my feelings were for him but he was an investment. I knew as long as I married him he'll love me unconditionally and worship the ground I walk on. All that gone because his parents thought I wasn't worth it. "Girl you can't believe what's trending on i********:, I mean this cute couple is everything look at them?" My coworker aziza who happened to be a nurse rushed to me  I collected her phone as the video starts playing, few of our colleagues joined to watch. It had muayyad and another girl who's back was facing the camera, she was singing to him as she held his hand in hers, at first he couldn't look at her almost shyly as she sang the lyrics to the song playing Oh stand by you She pulled him closer and she intertwined their hands making muayyad smile  Oh stand by you ,I'll stand by you  he let a huge smile break his lips as he turn to look at her pulling her closer to him  I'll stand by you oooh  I'll stand by you stand by you  He bends down a bit placing his forehead  on hers and closing his eyes a smile still present on his face  I will fight, for this right  I will break through , I will stay true  She pulls away dancing a bit around him as he starts full on laughing at her theatrics  Through the words I say the song I sing and I need  He held her hands twirling her around as she starts laughing so hard  Baby baby how amazing,Love is crazy, crazy crazy  He pulls her into his arms staring at her like she was a diamond in a gold mine, so much adoration on his face as he lean down to give a soft kiss on her forehead The video ended and I could hear them gushing about it and one particular person stood out to me as she worded "Yup that's hidayas best friend, my little sister and her practically grew up together. From what I heard everything happened so fast, she's Malik Gana's only daughter the second richest man in Nigeria Arfah. She's a sweet girl and also pretty I'll say he's lucky to have her as a wife" she finishes and questions were asked  "That's not right he has another daughter she got married like 2 years ago or so" aziza argued " that's his step daughter Salma, she comes from His wife's first marriage along with her brother Aslam" maimuna stated  "Oh I know Him he's so handsome, I thought he had a twin brother or something, he's got him all over his page and vice versa" "They aren't twins they're just really close to the point that people call them that" I tune them out as my head starts reeling, so not only is my fiancé getting married but he's marrying a billionaires daughter, I let out a soft laugh, how could I ever compete. But I knew, I knew he loved me so much And I'll use that to my advantage.  Arfah Malik Gana you'll know no peace until I get back what's mine!
