I sat in the living room where I could clearly hear hauwa and her friend Arfah squeal loudly, talking about her friend she was always over and hauwa was on her way to her house too. The girl was cool and seem chill, but she had a huge crush on me. Not that I'm being cocky or anything but i came to notice it, she was always blushing around me, using any excuse to have a conversation. I didn't have a problem with that but I felt like I was leading her on, and for some reason it didn't feel right. 

After a while she came out with hauwa hot on her heels to see her out. 

"hauwa why don't you stay behind, I wanna talk to Arfah" that took both of them off guard especially Arfah

"okay then, I'll call you later. Safe" hauwa waved at her. 

I walk her to the gate as a Mercedes S600 Maybach Park in front of us. 

"um,look Arfah you're cool, I like you. But I need to get this straight, I'm not into you. Don't get me wrong I'm not trying to embarrass you. I just wanna be honest."

I could see her tense up as her eyes well up with tears, she looked embarrassed and without saying anything she got in the car and left. I felt bad but I also had to make it clear so she wouldn't get her hopes high, me and her are never gonna happen.

I was in my room when hauwa barged in without knocking, I turn to snap at her but I could tell she was pissed. 

"what did you say to her? Huh?" she fumed 

"I was just being honest, I told her to forget about ever being with me"  I answer with a shrug 

"oh really? So you emberassed her? Like wtf, so you'd rather choose that gold digger over a nice and well mannered girl? Just great" 

Now that did it for me

"what did you just say? Didn't I tell you to stop talking about Mufeedah that way? Is she your mate?" she rolled her eyes without a care in the world

"I don't care what you think, we both know how her family is, you're never gonna work out. And if I lose my friend cause of this I'm never gonna forgive you for this." she turns around and bang the door behind her, drama queen.

It's safe to say since my little confession to arfah she hasn't visited us again, hauwa was sulking because apparently she wasn't talking to hauwa anymore and that did a number on her. My mom wasn't so happy about it, my dad did hear about it but he didn't say anything which I'm thankful for. 

It's been a month and although I felt bad for ruining their friendship, it had to be done to get things staright. I was getting dressed for the party held by the company I worked in, I was taking my dads position and it's safe to say I was done with my internship and was about to officially start working. I fix my cap that matched with my kaftan, I sprayed my Ferragamo perfume before leaving the house, I got in my car and drove off to what I know would be a long night.

The party was at full swing and I was just so bored, I didn't know anybody here and so I was awkwardly standing my the side. I smile as mufeedah's call came in 

'hi baby' her soothing voice came 

'hi yadai?' ( hi what's up ?)

'I'm good just a long shift, I sometimes forget why I decided to be a doctor"

'I clarely remember you saying we needed more female doctors' she hums 

'I met hauwa today' her voice low as she says it 

'did you?' 

'yup and she just kept ignoring me, something about how I ruined her friendship or something like that' 

I sigh lowly 'that's my fault, and I'm starting to regret doing it.'

'hmm well I know you'll fix it, gotta go I just got pagged' 

'okay bye babe, take care of yourself'  

I ended the call before turning around to look around the room, everyone looked like they were having fun. A face caught my attention, a familiar one. My eyes widen as a gummy smile that I've seen before caught my attention, her eyes met mine as mine met hers which wiped the smile from her face.
