"Half the world is starving, the other half is trying to lose weight." -Unknown. ****************************************I am harshly awakened by my ringtone blaring in my ears. I groan, flinching my eyes open, allowing them to adjust to the sudden light. I grab my phone from the bedside table and look at the screen. I roll my eyes when I read the caller ID knowing he was calling me to annoy me at this time of the day. "Alec," I grunt as a greeting, "what do you want?" "Is that how you greet people who first thought of you when they woke up and decided to call you?" He says amusedly. A blush creeps up my cheeks when I hear him say that but I knew he was joking and I shouldn't be making a big deal out of it. "What do you want, Alec?" I repeat. "So I was wondering, what wig should I wear today? The blonde one or the brown one?" He asks seriously. I take in a deep breath trying to control my anger. "Alec. You called me at freaking 9am on a Sunday morning to ask me THAT?" I spoke practically through my gritted teeth. "Someone woke up in the wrong side of the bed today," he mutters. "It's 8am, Summer." "Even worse! Goodnight Alec," I finally say, getting ready to hang up but I was stopped by Alec's voice. "Get ready, i'm picking you up in an hour." "Where are we going?" I ask cautiously, preparing myself for the worse. "You're giving me a tour of this beautiful island," he answers me, and I could practically see the grin on his face even though I couldn't see him. "Oh I would love to, i'm glad you asked," I mutter sarcastically, shrugging myself off my bed sheet, standing up. There's no point in going back to sleep now anyway. "Come on, it's actually sunny today. I think we should enjoy the beautiful weather," his voice comes through the receiver. "Whatever. Breakfast is on you," I tell him before hanging up. I make way to the bathroom, switching on the shower, waiting for it to get warm as I slipped out of my clothes. Once I removed my trousers, I realized I didn't shave. I groan before closing the tap, I hated wasting water. I take my shaver and the shaving cream and started shaving my hairy legs. After what seemed like hours, I was finally done shaving, I turn on the tap again and quickly bathed. Once I was done, I walk over to the sink, brushed my teeth and wrapped my body in the towel. I walk out of the bathroom, trying to towel dry my hair as I walk towards my closet. I bend down to take my bra and panties when a manly voice spoke. "Well that's a great view." I scream holding my towel tightly against me as I looked at the owner of the voice. "Alec!" I shout, my face pink with embarrassment. "Get out, you perv!" Alec chuckled before raising his hands up,"I didn't know you would come out in a towel." I glare at him,"so you thought i'd walk inside my room with what? A bed cover, after showering?" He gives me a smirk, "i'm going to wait for you downstairs." I watch him as he walks out of my room, closing the door behind him. "He's so infuriating!" I mutter with a groan once he was out. I sat down on the floor for a few minutes trying to think about how he just saw me in a towel. In only a towel. I couldn't stop blushing! After a while, I finally drag myself up and rummage through my closet for something suitable to wear. I grab my baggy long sleeved sweater and a pair of black tight that reached my knees. I slip into my underwear and wore the clothes I chose then quickly ran my fingers through my long hair, trying them up in a rough bun. I wear my glasses, grab my phone and walk downstairs to find Alec in the kitchen eating a bar of snickers. "You know it's like 26 degrees outside today right?" Alec asks me when he noticed me. "Yeah so?" "Long sleeves? Full black?" He points out as he observes my clothes. "I wore short leggings, didn't I?" "Alright, but when you start sweating don't ask me to borrow you my shirt," he says walking towards the door. I give him a glance, observing what he wore, a black sleeveless vest and blue shorts. Perfect for a sunny day. "You really want to explore Sitka like that?" "I'm not the one wearing winter clothes," he defends, taking a bite from his snickers. "No I mean looking like you. What happened to staying low key? We bought those disguises for a reason you know," I scold him, folding my arms against my chest. "Oh that! The wig was itchy so I took it off," he says holding up a blonde wig for me to see. "And i'll be wearing sunglasses so I think that would be enough. If you thought i'd be wearing those ugly outfits then you thought wrong." I roll my eyes, I don't bother to argue with him. He could be quite stubborn if he wanted to. "Alright, you better put on your disguise now," I inform him as I made my way out of the kitchen. He follows me, wearing the blonde wig, his shades on his hands. "I don't know, I still feel like people would recognize you," I tell him, after I looked him over to check if his disguise was okay. He rolls his eyes in reply, holding my shoulders, pushing me out of the house. "You like overthinking things. Live a little." "With the way you're acting, I don't think you'll last two weeks without the paparazzi noticing," I inform him as we stepped out of the house and the heat hit my face, instantly making me regret wearing the top, but there's no way that i'll admit this to Alec, so I sucked it up and followed Alec down the steps. "Where's your car?" I ask him, when I notice that there's no car at the driveway. "We're walking. How do I get to enjoy seeing a new place in a car?" He asks, looking at me with a big smile etched on his face, winking at me before he puts his shade on. "But I hate walking, or anything that has to do with me physically moving," I whine, wishing I had a driver's license and an actual car. I had to put aside the fact that he looked so hot when he winked at me even with his now blonde hair on. "Well too bad," he answers, not so sympathetically. He starts to walk out of the drive way. "Are you coming Summer?" He asks me, without looking back at me. I don't answer him as I half-ran towards him, "so where do you want to go first?" I ask him, wishing I had a cap on. "It's a beautiful day to go to the beach," he answers me. "I really want to go for a swim." "Uhm. Alec-" "Celebrity, blah blah, I know I know," he says with a sigh. "I still want to go to a beach, or you got another idea?" "Well if you want to swim, we could take a boat to the middle of the ocean and you can swim with the dolphins," I suggest. His eyes widen and a grin forms on his face, "we can do that?!" I nod my head with a chuckle, taking his arm and pulling him towards the sidewalk, suddenly excited about this tour. "But we gotta have breakfast first." We walk to the café I usually go to, Josh, a.k.a the guy I have a tiny crush on, wasn't there and I was a little disappointed. I had not seen him ever since I opened school and I kind of do miss him. As we walk to the counter, Evans, one of the baristas, gives me a friendly smile. "It's been long," he comments. I return his smile,"yup, been busy with school." He's the owner of the café, also Josh's father. He was a friendly guy and he used to get along well with my father. "So what would you guys want?" He asks. "Mh, i'll have the hot chocolate and a chicken sandwich," I tell him without reading the menu. "Of course, why did I even ask?" He jokes, writing the order on a notepad. "And your friend?" "I'll have a café latte," Alec answers, as he looks at the blackboard where the menu is written. Evans writes his order and we walk towards the tables, choosing one at the café window. "You come here a lot?" Alec observes. I nod my head, "yeah, almost everyday during the breaks." We make small talks, mostly about the trip to the dolphins that we'd be having until our order came. I ate my food while he drank his coffee and we continued our journey to the beach. "I'm so tired," I complain, only about ten minutes into the walk. "Your lack of health saddens me," Alec says, placing his hand on his heart, mocking me. I roll my eyes, swatting his arm. "You aren't the one wearing long sleeves, and I don't even have a hat to protect my head. I'm sweating like an old lady in a marathon," I complain. Alec faces me, quirking an eyebrow questioningly. "An old lady in a marathon?" He asks amused. "I can't think straight with this heat!" I complain. I'm pretty sure the temperature has increased by 5 degrees by now. "Well I did tell you to change," Alec reminds me, earning a glare from me, but he didn't seem fazed by my glare as he just continued."I think this is where I tell you I told you so," he says with a smirk, giving me a sideway glance. "Whatever," I mutter. We were near the place anyway so i'll just suck it up. We reach the beach and I sigh when the breeze brushes through me, going to the beach was definitely a good idea. There was a good amount of people walking around, kids playing sand castles, some people surfing and others just getting a tan. Looks like a lot of people wanted to enjoy this sudden warm weather at the end of January. "All I need is a good swim and sea food," Alec says smiling as his eyebrows furrowed. Okay I just realized I forgot to carry my swimsuit. "I forgot to take my swimsuit," I voiced my thoughts, pouting as I look longingly at the sea. "That's alright, there's a lot of shops selling swimsuits," he says as he looks around the area. I notice that a lot of the female population were staring at us. Or more particularly, at Alec. I hope they don't realize that it's in fact him. "People are staring," I tell him, my voice low. "That's because you came to the beach wearing a freaking sweater," he replies, taking my hand and pulling me towards the shops. "I'm pretty sure their attention is focused on you," I insist, watching as two teenage girls look at him, whispering to each other. "Summer," he groans. "Stop over analyzing things, we came here to have fun. Now try this bikini on." I gasp as I look at the revealing bikini. It was a sky blue two piece, with two straps on top, the panties had to be closed by a strap at the sides. Only a person with a model body can pull that off, someone like Alexis. The only swimsuits I wear are the one piece, the ones with a skirt, not the usual tight ones. Speaking of Alexis, we totally forgot to call her for this trip. "First of all, I will never wear such a bikini," I point out, "and we forgot to call Alexis to join us." "Why would we call Alexis?" He asks, as he puts the bikini back on the rack and starts searching for another one. "Because she's our friend?" I tell him, only it sounds more like a question. He ignores my statement as he pulls out another two piece bikini, a black one this time. "This is so hot," he says with a smirk and I immediately snatch it away from him. "Perv, i'll only wear a one piece." He pouts as he walks out of the stall, walking inside another stall with me following behind. "Oh this is a sexy one piece," Alec says with a whistle, holding out a red one piece for me to see. It was barely a one piece! It was like a bikini with three straps joining the top part with the bottom. "I think I better shop for my own swimsuit before you suggest another one," I announce, walking over to the racks and pulling out a black with little blue lines lining the straps and between my chest and stomach. It was one of those with a skirt so it was definitely a plus. "Please don't tell me you're buying that grandma suit," Alec complains, his eyebrows furrowed. I roll my eyes as I don't bother answering him, walking over to the cash register. "It's illegal to wear those!" Alec goes on, making the cash register, who was a young teenager, smirk. He was hot, his skin was tanned, his eyes blue like the ocean with his sandy brown hair. "Well, I think she can make the swimsuit look hot," he comments making me blush. This is the first time a guy like him ever complimented me. I mean, apart from Alec, but Alec is just being Alec. It's weird and unusual. He's probably one of those guys who compliment every girl they see. Alec's eyebrows furrows as he takes out his wallet. "No one asked for you opinion beach boy," Alec says, his voice clearly annoyed. He opens his wallet taking out a one hundred dollar bill. "You probably should wear them, or if they have an even more modest, swimwear that would be great," he goes on talking to particularly no one. I was about to comment about his weird behavior but something else caught my attention. "Uh, what are you doing?" I ask him, eyeing the money he was giving the hot guy. "Paying for the ugly swimsuit." "No way, i'm paying. It's my ugly swimsuit!" I protest, my arms crossed against my chest. "Oh yah? Where's the money?" He challenges with a smirk, folding his arms across his chest. I clamp my mouth shut when I realize I forgot to carry my money. Ugh I hate it when people pay for my stuff. "I'll pay you back though," I mutter, watching as the hot guy accepts the money and hands him the change with the swimsuit in a plastic bag. I accept the bag and quickly walk out of the stall, ready for my day at the beach.
