Daisy The late morning had turned hot and I paused to wipe my arm over my forehead, turning the dirt caking my skin into mud. I'd abandoned my flannel shirt a few hours before, stripping down to my tank top, but the sweat was still pouring off me in rivers as I stacked hay bales in the storage barn. The shadows were shrinking as the sun headed to its zenith, and I knew we'd be breaking for lunch soon. I just needed to stack a few more bales before I could quit for a few hours. There was a mountain of paperwork still waiting for me, and I knew I really should use the hot afternoon to try to get some of it done and organize my office. At least a little.
