So, the little darling doesn’t like making decisions, I can feel a ripple of excitement move through the room at the realization. Each of us happened to be uniquely qualified to allow the power exchange that she may not even realize she needs right now.
Getting to truly know her was going to be great fun.
“What do you want to do today, darling?” I grin as she crosses her legs and takes a deep breath.
“Some air would be nice, actually.” She said looking anywhere but at me.
“How about a trip to the mall? We can help you design your space. Or give you some space, while you shop.”
“Patrick will be here this afternoon to get a look at the attic and give us a quote and time limit so unfortunately you will have to go without me, but it’s a promising idea. You are going to need to pick up a few dresses, too.” Fox said, drawing her gaze.
“What kind of dresses?” Is that excitement I hear in her voice? Connor pulls up the calendar on his phone.
“I have an intern mixer on the 28th of October, black tie.” He said kissing her forehead as he stands to walk out of the kitchen, most likely to get a few of her things into his room before we head out.
“I have a dinner with potential investors to help us get Carnal House locations at other universities, semi-formal, and a charity gala to attend as well, black tie.” Ash said, giving her a sly smile, twirling a lock of her hair behind her ear.
“No pressure.” She said standing up to stretch.
“It won’t be so bad, we will have time to prepare for the dinner, talking points mostly. The gala will be more schmoozing and dancing, a chance for me to show you off.” He said, pulling her in close for a kiss I envied.
“Wow.” She said as he walked away, shaking her head. “So that’s three dresses, I’m guessing that you both also have things going on that I need to be arm candy for?”
“Boxer’s Ball, nothing like a hotel filled with hotheads and their trophy wives.” Fox says from the doorway, Ryker tenses.
“And girlfriends.” I add with a pointed look at Fox, his crack about trophy wives was in poor taste. For a young woman trying to find herself, her instant thought was to compare herself to a trophy wife, from the way she tensed she found herself wanting.
“We should take the Escape. Ryker why don’t you and I meet them out in the car, Fox can get the rest of your things sorted.” I said leading her to the side door, snagging her jacket from the chair.
