ExpositionBelle, a young, beautiful, and brilliant college student, is on a scholarship program at Stanford University. Notwithstanding her excellent academic performance, she goes through the highs and lows of college life. Both the expected and unexpected. She is studying to become a neurosurgeon, a passion fueled by her love for her mother, who had suffered from brain cancer since Belle was in high school. Sadly, she lost her mom in the first year of College. It did not stop her from pushing forward and achieving her dream. In a way, the loss fueled it all the more, making her have a relentless spirit throughout her college life. Belle, although seemingly reserved and quiet, is brave, determined, and tactful. This trait of hers gives her the ability to push through tough situations. However, she is crippled when she had to deal with her growing love and desire for her college professor. Belle struggles deeply with her conscience, knowing fully well that her professor, James Carter, is also her dad’s very close friend. The age gap didn’t help either, and the unbreakable rule guiding teacher-student relationships. No matter how hard she tried, she couldn’t seem to shake off what she felt for him. Inciting IncidentAll her efforts to kill what she felt for him became pointless when her dad set off on a 6-month work trip and put her in the care of Dr. Carter. She tried to avoid the whole situation, but her dad convinced her to accept when he mentioned how much his friend had cared for both of them as they processed the loss of Lydia, Belle’s mom. She succumbed to the idea with a mixture of fear and excitement. Dr. Carter, on the other hand, was pleased to accommodate dear Belle. He had always loved and cherished her like she were his own. Now that she was under his care, he was able to express that even more. Belle had a striking resemblance to his late wife, Anne, whom he loved dearly. After her untimely death, James was utterly distraught. His efforts to connect with someone new after his tragic loss were to no avail. It was her eyes, Belle’s. His wife had the same color of green eyes. He had never seen a pair of eyes that beautiful. He was drawn to her because of it. Whenever he looked into her eyes, his heart stirred in a way that he only experienced with Anne. He didn’t want to admit it, but he wanted her. He wanted her in ways that he knew he shouldn't. So, he tried his best to be who Jack, Belle’s dad, wanted him to be, even if he wanted more. Much more. One day, right before James’s lecture, Vanessa, a mean girl who was fond of picking on Belle, found Belle’s journal. In it, she had written a poem about James titled ‘Desire’. Vanessa read it to the hearing of those present. James was intrigued and curious. He somehow knew the poem was about him because she referred to him by the name her father calls him. His hidden desire increased after hearing the beautiful poem she had written about him, but he did not let his feelings be known to her Rising actionAs soon as Jack left on his 6-month trip, Belle was taken in by James. They are both very tense. The chemistry between them is fiery, and they can sense it. At first, they resist each other, but eventually, they succumb to their intense feelings. Living together allowed them to know each other on a deeper level. James is everything Belle ever wanted and needed in a man– mature, kind, considerate, loving, and passionate. Belle was much more than James could have ever imagined. She was thoughtful, way beyond her age, tender, and sweet. They knew their romance was out of the norm, but they cared for each other way more than they cared about what society had to say. However, to protect Belle, James did his best to stop what they shared. He became cold and distant at times and tried his best to treat her like a daughter, but it did not work. The more he stayed away from her, the more he wanted her. Eventually, he succumbed to his feelings, and they both shared a deep, passionate romance. Nonetheless, it was nothing but hard. Helena, the college counselor and a very good friend of James, right from college, had always been in love with him. She had tried to win him over countless times, but James was not interested. She was not ready to give up. She found more creative ways to win him over. She began to notice a change in him. There was a new spark in his eyes that he only had when he was still married to his late wife, who is also friends with Helena. Her suspicions grew, leading her to investigate. She found out about James and Belle after stalking him. She was filled with jealousy and rage. She had counseled Belle a couple of times after her mom, but after Belle noticed the way she wanted James, she stopped trusting her. Helena devised a plan to tear them apart, but it came at a very high cost. She threatened to deal with Belle and even expose her if she doesn't stay away from James. In order not to lose her scholarship and possibly be expelled, she ended th
