Chapter 51 Feeling rough

SUMMERS POV

I was cuddled up to my dad who didn't hound or annoy me like everyone else. My dad just let me cuddle up to him knowing when I'm ill I hate noisy annoying people and just want peace and quiet so he didnt say anything.

I was just drifting back off to sleep when I heard the door open again. In walks Sean my mum and Tom with Lisa and simon also in toe.

What are you all doing here I ask?

We just want to check your temperature my mum says while Sean waves the thermometer in his hand.

Alright quickly then let me sleep I grumble.

Sean quickly takes my temperature while everyone looks worried.

It's 38.1 Sean says.

Well it's going down see I told you I'm not going to hospital now can I get some sleep if not I'm going home to my own bed and I will take Skylar with me I'm grumble.

Okay I'm glad your temperature is starting to go down we will leave you to it Tom says while taking Lisa out with him to says I hope you feel better soon.

Okay love I will go help Ryan and luke look after Skylar until bedtime then I will come stay with you overnight my mum says before also leaving the bedroom.

Im sorry I won't disturb you again until the antibiotics arrive or unless it's time for more painkillers to keep the temperature at bay Sean says.

Hey sis, if your not wanting pudding can I have your share Simon says winking at me.

I don't mind I say as he walks out the room also along with Sean.

Dad why is everyone so loud and annoying I moan.

Because they care but don't understand how annoying everyone seems when Ill your just like me hense why I'm the only person who never got on your nerves when you where ill growing up he chuckles.

Well don't let them back in until I've had some more sleep dad I don't think I can deal with anymore annoyance unless it's Skylar she is quiet like us I say.

With that I cuddle back up to my dad and go to go asleep again but once again as I'm falling asleep Sean walks back in.

What now my dad says beating me to it.

I've just come to bring the antibiotics my mum just got back here Sean says handing them to my dad.

Okay I will take them but don't come waking me again just yet I say sitting up.

I won't I promise Sean says then he quickly kisses my cheek before leaving the room again.

I take the antibiotics and then finally I manage to fall asleep pretty quickly afterwards once again cuddled up to my dad.

SEAN'S POV

Kenny had come down when Summer was in a deep sleep just in time for dinner which Simon ended up finishing as he started to reheat it while my mum was out getting the prescription as well as finish it off with a salad side or wedges side for a choice.

we ate dinner then watched some TV before everyone ended up going to bed I had to practically pry Skylar away from luke who would make a awesome dad I hope Ryan and Luke adopt a child some day they would totally make amazing parents I think heading up to the spare room next to my parents room. I made Skylar was fully settled in the mise basket before getting ready for bed myself. I couldn't seem to sleep at first as I missed not having Summer next to me and was still worried about her.

I hope she feels better in the morning and is well again before Christmas I think laying awake in bed. I don't know what time I fell asleep but I was soon woke to Skylar needing a feed. As I was feeding Skylar my mum came in. Hey I heard Skylar awake so I thought I'd see if you needed anything my mum asks.

No we are okay thanks mum, but how come your still awake? I ask.

Lisa snuck into our room half hour ago enougher nightmare she said.

Lisas been having nightmares? I ask

Yes every since she was attacked at first she would wake up screaming but after a week she started coming and in and waking me up so I'd go join her in her bedroom for the night. But since she came back from Summers the past two nights she just comes and climbs into our bed my mum says.

I didn't realise she never said or disturbed us at Summers but makes sense why she was awake so early and came and took Skylar early in the morning I say.

Night my mum Says before heading back to bed herself.

After I finished seeing to Skylar I made sure she was asleep before putting her back into the mosebasket I made sure the baby monitor was on taking one with me so I could go get a drink.

As I walk into the kitchen I see Summer sat at the kitchen table.

Hey, how do you feel? I ask.

I'm okay just needed a drink, I managed to not wake my mum to sneak down here Summer says.

I'm glad your feeling abit better you don't look so hot now as well I say going to open the fridge to grab the apple juice.

Asleep she just had a bottle and went back off pretty quickly, don't worry I have the baby monitor on me incase she wakes up but I've only come to get a drink as well I say showing Summer the apple juice in my hand.

I'm sorry for being snappy earlier Summer says.

I know you didn't mean it, I know you hate being fussed over but I was just worried I say pooring myself a glass of the apple juice.

I know but I seriously didn't feel that bad my ear doesn't even give me any pain but felt a little hot honestly so I was shocked to discover I have a ear infection. And as for feeling sick I just thought I was having a off day and would be fine after a sleep Summer says.

It's okay I won't hold it against you I say putting the apple juice carton back in the fridge. Then joining Summer at the table.

Give Skylar a kiss for me when you go back to up Summer says looking sad.

I will, but what's wrong? I ask.

I just hate being apart from Skylar at night and this is the second night running I'm missing out on the night feeds Summer says.

It's okay, you get some more rest and I will sure Skylar is back giving you cuddles nice and early in the morning how about that I say.

I promise and if you can't hold out until then I'm in the spare room next to my parents with Skylar you can always come join us beforehand if you can't cope being away from Skylar to long okay? I ask.

Okay well, well I finished my drink as I heard you coming downstairs I should head back up and get some more rest before my mum discovers I'm missing she will wake the whole house panicking over me Summer says.

I was planning to do that originally but then I saw your beauful face and decided to keep you a little company I say placingy glass in the sink before picking the baby monitor up again.

Well it's fine come on let's get you back to bed I say taking Summers hand in mine as we walk out the kitchen.

Once we reach the room Summer is staying in my old bedroom I pull her in for a hug.

Get some decent sleep me and Skylar will be fine and we will see you in the morning I say before kissing Summers cheek.

I don't walk away until she has s**t the bedroom door which she did slowly while keeping eye contact with me the whole time.

SUMMERS POV

I woke up again at 8:36am with such a ear ache that it actually made me cry with pain.

Mum, I say through tears.

Summer what's wrong my mum asks worried while sitting up.

My ear hurts this morning can you go grab me some. Painkillers and water I already have the antibiotics on the bedside table I say through tears.

Okay I won't be long and I will get your dad also he is good and charming you down my mum says getting up.

Iay back down and close my eyes trying to block out the pain it doesn't take long for my mum to come back with the painkillers and water. I quickly take them with the antibiotics and lay back down as my dad walks back in with my mum.

Love do you want a cuppa mu mum asks.

No I'm Okay thanks I say as my dad comes and cuddles me.

It's alright love you go get yourself a cuppa and sorted for the day I will stay with Summer my dad says.

Which ear is it my dad asks.

This one it didn't hurt yesterday just felt got but I woke up suddenly to intense pain in it and a slight headache I say.

Okay well lay on the opposite side and place the quilt over your head slightly I fond that helps me whenever I got ear infections my dad says as I cuddle up to him. He then rubs my back soothing me until the painkillers tale effect and I fall asleep again.

I woke up again at 9:50am so I didn't sleep long but the pain in my ear wasn't so bad now just a dull ache.

My dad was sat on the bed next to me drinking a cuppa while reading the news paper.

How you feeling now? My dad asks

Better but I miss Skylar I say.

Well Sean tried to bring Skylar in but I said you needed some more sleep until the pain became manageable so he took Skylar downstairs, would you like me to go get Skylar my dad asks.

Okay I will also get you some breakfast Simon said he would make you gis famous waffles omlete you love once you woke up since you barely ate yesterday my dad says.

Okay tell Simon I said thanks.

With that my dad got up taking his cuppa with him and left me to wake up a little more.

It didn't take long for a worried looking Sean to walk in with Skylar.

Better now the painkillers have kicked in a little.

Yes, your dad said you were not good then your mum said the pain was bad this morning Sean says sitting on the bed next to me while handing me Skylar.

It was the earache certainly came full of rage and anger this morning I say before kissing Skylar on the cheek.

Well hopefully the antibiotics will take effect soon and your start to feel better Sean says as I lean against him. He wraps a arm around me and I cuddle in more while cuddling Skylar in my arms.

I hope so, I hate not being with Skylar please don't keep her away from me until I'm better I say.

I won't but when you need to rest promise me your lean on me to look after Skylar while you rest Sean says.

Okay, so long as you let me look after Skylar when i feel able to I say.

Hopefully I feel better before Christmas I don't want to ruin Skylar first Christmas being ill after everything that happened with the first few day of Skylar life I don't think I'd forgive myself if I'm ill and unable to make it as magical as I wany for Skylar First Christmas I say.
