SUMMERS POV

Summer, summer I hear Sean say.

Hmm I groan.

Summer wake up sweet you need to take some tablets Sean says.

Why I moan opening my eyes buy I feel like I need to sleep more, I just feel so tired.

Because your running a hi fever your burning up Sean says looking concerned.

Come to think of it I do feel a little hot I think to myself. I sit up slowly and look around my head feels a little foggy and I feel sick still.

Where's Skylar I mumble noticing she isn't in the room now.

I took her into Lisa so you can rest, here take these paracetamol with this bottle of water Sean says.

I take the painkillers.

I've rung the doctor to come by they will be here soon just lay down and get some more rest Sean says.

I don't need a doctor I will be fine after some sleep I say.

No, the doctor can tell me that. Why didn't you tell me you felt ill? Sean asks.

Because I didn't feel this bad earlier and figured I'd be fine there was no point giving you an excuse to skiv work I say closing my eyes.

I'd of not been skiving I'd of come back to look after you and Skylar, in future you tell me don't keep it from me Sean says while stroking my hair.

Okay I mumble.

The next thing I know I'm waking to hear Summer can you up, I'm Dr Nelson say a women.

Hmm, I moan opening my eyes.

I'm sorry to wake you, but let's give you a once over while I'm here she says smiling at me. Dr Nelson looks like a middle aged women with blonde shirt hair wearing a navy blue suit.

It's okay, I'm sorry Sean called you out, I'm sure I will be fine after some more sleep I say sitting up.

Well no need to be sorry since I'm here, how about I check you over anyway she says.

Let's start by checking your temperature she says.

Okay but seriously I just feel a little sick and my head now feels a little groggy I'm sure I will be fine in a day or so I say.

It's nothing related to recently giving birth is it Sean asks worriedly standing by the door. I didn't even notice him u til he spoke.

I will know more once I've checked Summer over the doctor says.

Okay I'm sorry I'm just worried Sean says.

Okay let's take your tempture the doctor says placing the digital formonitor near my head.

Hmm when did you say Summer took the paracetamol the doctor asks

Around 50 minutes ago why what's wrong Sean says.

Well summer's tempature is still very high at 39.1 do you have any iburfin? The doctor asks.

Yes I will go grab it Sean says running out the room.

Okay let's have a look in your ears and mouth the doctor says to me. I open my mouth to she can have a look inside. Then she checks my ears.

Okay are you feeling a little dizzy at all? The doctor asks.

A little since not long before I came to bed why? I ask.

It seems you have a ear infection and that's what is wrong with you don't you have any ear pain? The doctor asks confused.

No it's just felt a little hot but not painful as such so I didn't think much of it I say.

Okay well I'm going to prescribe you some antibiotics it's important you take the full course and make sure you stay on top of paracetamol and iburfin to help with the temperature as well. Otherwise you should start to feel right as rain within the next few days and hopefully fully better in time for Christmas the doctor says.

Then Sean burst back through the door with the iburfin.

Here I've got the iburfin he says.

Thanks, it's just a ear infection. However I will be prescribing antibiotics for this but if the temperature doesn't go down within the next hour then I suggest you go to the hospital so they can try and get it under control the doctor says while stating to write up a prescription.

Thankyou doctor I say.

Okay I will make sure to do as you say thankyou doctor Sean says.

It's my pleasure make sure you get enough rest Summer it was nice to see you again Sean she says before walking out. Then it clicks to me Dr Nelson is the name of Seans doctor.

Will you be okay for a minute while I got let everyone know, your mum has the our dad's and Ryan and luke coming back since she is also worried about you Sean says.

Yes I will just take these tablets then go back to sleep for a moment I say.

Okay I will be back soon he says before dashing out the door.

SEAN'S POV

As I head back downstairs with the prescription in my hand I see my mum seeing the doctor out.

Thanks again doc I say walking past to head to the front room where Lisa is now sitting with Sandy and Skylar.

What's wrong with Summer sandy asks seeing me walk in.

She has a ear infection if her temperature doesn't go down with in the next hour we have to take her to hospital though as its very high. I've also got her prescription here for antibiotics I say.

I will go collect that now my mum says walking into the front room.

Thanks mum I say could you also buy some more paracetamol and iburfin just incase we need more I ask.

I was going to anyway the poor love getting ill so close to Christmas my mum says.

Okay well I'm going to ring Tom and let him know he sounded really worried when I phoned him half hour ago.

Okay I will go sit with Summer make sure she is okay if your still okay to watch Skylar I ask Lisa.

Yes, go we will be fine Lisa says.

I will be up once I've finished speaking with Tom Sandy says

Okay well I will get going and get this prescription out my mum says.

With that I head back upstairs to make sure Summer is okay.

As I walk back into the bedroom I see Summer is sat up still.

Hey, how are you feeling I ask.

I'm fine you should stop fussing Summer says annoyed.

No, your not fine that's why the doctor has prescribed antibiotics and you could end up in hospital with that temperature yet, so stop acting tough for once I say sitting next to Summer on the bed.

I don't have time to be ill Sean we have a newborn baby so no matter what I'm not going to hospital I'm staying right here to look after Skylar, where is she anyway? I want to see Skylar Summer says.

In order to be able to look after Skylar you need to look after yourself as well, plus I'm here I can look after you both so just rest I plead.

Where is Skylar? I went to sleep with her by my side and woken up to her taken away from me Summer days annoyed.

She is downstairs with Lisa and Sandy she is fine I promise I say. Then that's where I'm going also Summer says going to stand up.

No please just stay and rest in bed I will bring Skylar up once your temperature has settled down a little I promise, just please rest for abit first I say while holding Summers hand.

No i want to see Skylar Summer says getting angry as Sandy walks into the bedroom.

And you will but right now you should be in bed love I will go get Skylar if it means that much to you Sandy says.

Fine but please go get my baby mum Summer says.

Okay I'm going now so you get back into bed Sandy says point to the bed.

Summer sits on the bed and turns to me looking proper pissed off.

See it's not that hard is it she snaps at me.

Summer come on be nice Sean is only worried about you, Sandy says before walking back out the room.

I'm sorry, I'm just scared your going to end up in hospital your really not looking well I say.

I will not end up in hospital summer says resting her head against my arm.

I wrap my arm around summer so she can lean against me more comfortably.

I hope you don't, I really don't want you in hospital I want you to get better for Christmas so we can enjoy it as a little family surrounded by our loved ones, plus I've always hated seeing you Ill you know that I say.

I forgot how much of a mother hen you turn into when I get the slightest illness Summer says.

Well it's only because I love you I say placing a kiss upon her head.

I know, bit stop fretting I will be fine childbirth is way worse than this if I can get through that I can get through a little ear infection Summer says.

I'm sure you can your like a superwoman I say smiling.

Skylar has been good as gold Lisa says walking in behind Sandy.

That's good then Summer says holding out her arms for Skylar.

I'm alright I have water still Summer says.

I'd love a cuppa I say.

Okay what about you sandy would you like one? Lisa ask.

With that Lisa dashes out the room.

Right me and Karen spoke we think it would do you good if you get a good night sleep so your options are either Sean stays in a different room with Skylar or me and Karen said we would share the night feeds between us what would you both like to do? But I will warn you if Sean looks after Skylar I'm camping in here with you summer Sandy says.

What do you want to do? Summer asks me.

I will do whatever you want to do summer you choose I say.

Okay you look after Skylar I know you missed her at work today Summer says.

Correction I missed you both, but if that's what you want I will look after Skylar so long as you don't end up in hospital because I will then come with you so your mum doesn't have to put up with a hospital chair for the night I say.

Well hopefully it won't come to that but if that's the case I agree with Sean I'm getting to hold to handle the hospital chairs sandy says.

Summer how are you feeling poppet Kenny says walking into the room with my dad and Ryan in toe.

I didn't plan it and I feel okay I don't see what all the fuse is about Summer says.

Yes we both discussed it in the car back and Tom said he is happy to do night feeds of needed as well Kenny says.

Well seems like all this planning and between the women and men yet no one consultanted the others Summer says laughing.

Well it's good everyone is happy to pull together to make sure your alright I say.

Hmm, I know thanks everyone Summer says followed by a yawn.

Okay hand over our baby girl you need some sleep Ryan says.

I just roll my eyes at him.

Okay, fight among yourselfs I've had a cuddle now Summer says before giving skylar a kiss and then handing her over to Ryan.

It's okay love I will stay with Summer for a while Kenny says.

I'm that case I will quickly go drink my drink then come back up to check your temperature I say to Summer before kissing her cheek then helping her to rest against the pillow instead of me before I got off the bed.

Kenny pats my shoulder while saying thanks son as I head out the room with everyone else.

I can't believe Summer was that ill and we didn't notice Simon says as I walk into the kitchen.

I can't believe she didn't tell me she was feeling ill yet we were messaging all day up until 4:30pm

Ah, that's when she went to bed with Skylar Lisa says.

Well whats done is done, all we can do is look after her until she is better I say.

And we will don't worry Lisa says.

Okay I know that but still I'm thankful so wanted to express it however I'm not thankful for the cuppa now though I say while poking my tongue out at Lisa.

Ha, you kids are never to old to argue my dad says walking into the kitchen.

It's just harmless sibling tit for tat I say.

I know, how's summer? My dad asks.

She insists she is fine but I'm still worried I'm hoping the temperature goes down otherwise its going to be a battle getting her to agree to go to hospital I say.

Okay well, your mum just messaged saying she is waiting for the prescription to be made then she will be back so hopefully the tablets kick in soon and then the antibiotics can do there magic my dad says.

I hope so Simon says.

Me to I say before drinking my cuppa even thought it's a little hot still I'm inpatient in wanting to go and check back in on Summer.

In then walked Sandy who looked just as eager as me by downing her cuppa just as fast as I did.

Still 15 minutes until we have to check Summers temperature Sandy says tapping her foot against the floor.

Don't worry we will all make sure Summer is feeling better in time for Christmas my dad tells sandy.
