THE PROPHECY
YOU ARE IN DANGER,AND I DO NOT THINK I CAN PROTECT YOU.
These were the words coming from Scott.
The Moon shines bright in the night sky, casting a colorful glow over
the forest. Scott sat at the edge of a tree, his eyes snapped open, his heart racing with the remnants of a haunting dream.
The smile of a lady he was unable to recognize lingered in his heart, and the smell of an unknown destiny hung in the air.
The wind rustled his hair, and he breathed in deeply, sensing the pack's presence around him.
As the alpha of the Silvermoon pack, Scott felt a deep connection to the moon.
He knew every inch of the forest, the ancient trees, and every hidden stream. This was his domain, where he was born and where his children would be born, so he protected it with his life.
But tonight he felt different, he felt restless and a sense of anticipation he couldn’t explain. His quiet moment was interrupted by the loud noise of the pups that were turning for the first time in their life, this brought back old memories of the first time he turned, he remembered how painful it was, it felt like the pain would never go away.
He felt his wolf stir in him, the relentless feeling came back. Little did he know that his life was about to change forever.
Lydia went about her daily routine, her mind numb from the repetition of it all. She poured herself a bowl of cereal, the milk moving around the bowl of cereal while she stared out the window.
As she ate she couldn’t shake off the feeling that something was missing. It wasn’t just the job she hated or the town she felt trapped in, she had a feeling that there was more to life than her everyday routine.
Lydia sighed and pushed her bowl of cereal away, her appetite gone, she noticed her phone flickering coming to life with a test from her friend, Sarah. ‘’Hey mind to grab a cup of coffee after work today’’ she read, he hesitated a while before responding with an emoji, maybe a chat with her friend will help her shake off her mind from the feeling of emptiness.
Lydia went on with her day at work, unable to shake off the feeling of missing something in her life, something exciting, something that could change her life forever.
Scott steered his SUV down the windy road of Ravenwood, as he navigated the familiar route back home, the annual meeting of the neighboring packs had been productive but also exhausting.
As he approached the town’s main street, Scott noticed the small grocery store by the roadside. He pulled into the parking lot, with the intent of grabbing a few essentials.
Inside the store, Lydia was restocking the shelves with a look of concentration on her face. Her dark hair was tied to the back in a ponytail. Lucas noticed an intoxicating smell and he was wondering
where it was coming from, he had never smelled something so intoxicating and delicious in his life before.
His wolf started jumping and trying to communicate with him but he had to calm him down since he was in public.
Scott tried to trace where the delicious scent was coming from and he saw a lady whose back was turned to him bending towards the shelf, his wolf jumped in joy while screaming Mate.
He beamed with joy at the happiness of finally finding his mate after almost 10years of finding her, he controlled himself from hugging her, Lydia unaware of what was going on behind her stood up since she was done arranging the shelve, she was surprised to see someone starring at her and she instantly felt a pull to the tall handsome man in front of her, she had to control herself since he was a costumer.
She smiled at him and asked him what he wanted Oh sorry I was unable to find the shelf where the deodorant is’’ Scott said. Please follow me let me show you where it is ’’Lydia said.
They were interrupted by another young man who wanted Lydia‘s attention he asked her to show him the shelf with the vegetable’s, she told him to check the second shelve by his right that he will find it there but he was not comfortable with her response, he dragged her hand and Scott wolf growled in anger immediately, his eyes turned dark and her colleague Emily came to interfere immediately asking the guy to respect him if he doesn’t want to be banned from
coming to the store, he dropped her hand and Lydia quietly thanked Emily before asking Scott to follow her. On their way to the shelf What’s your name Scott asked?’’ Lydia
‘’she replied quietly feeling a little butterfly in her belly Nice name,’’ I’m Scott’’ he said his voice low and smooth. Their eyes locked briefly for a moment, and time stood still. Scott knew in that instance that his life was about to change forever when he realized that she was human.
Lydia went back to the counter to join her friend Emily ‘’Why is your face red, don’t tell me you are disturbed about the guy who dragged you earlier ’’No I am fine I was only shocked for a moment Lydia replied.
Scott came to the counter to make payment after picking the things he needed, Lydia felt a spark of electricity run through her when she saw him again, after making his payment, he smiled at Lydia sliding a small paper to her that read ‘’Meet me outside’’.
Lydia blushed at the letter and her friend Emily asked what was the content of the letter, she smiled sheepishly and told her that she wants to step outside briefly, she saw Scott standing at the front of his car ‘’can I get your number please’’ he said handing her his phone she collected it and input her number, as she got closer to
him their hands touched, a jolt of awareness ran through the both of them.
But before they could process the connection, a menacing figure emerged from the shadows, the eyes fixed on Scott with intensity.
’’You’re making a mistake the figure growled, before turning to Lydia and whispering You don’t know what he his capable of ’before disappearing. Lydia froze not knowing if she was daydreaming or if it was real.
