THE DISCOVERY I am not supposed to be talking to you ‘’Lydia said, her voice trembling from what just happened, she glanced around the empty parking lot. ‘’You shouldn’t’’ Scott replied his eyes locked to her. But you are, and I think I know why’’. Lydia scurried back to the store with fear on her face’’Are you okay’’ Emily asked ‘’I’m fine she replied. Her day went about quickly with fear of what had happened earlier still lingering in her heart, and she kept wondering why she was still drawn to Scott despite what had happened earlier. After closing for the day she went straight home, she pushed the door to her room open, the fluorescent lights flickering to life as she stepped inside. She couldn’t shake off the feeling that Scott‘s piercing gaze had left on her. She kept wondering who he was and why she felt like she had known him for a long time. Scott on his way back home kept wondering why he had to be fated with a human despite waiting a long time before finding her. He got to one of the pack perimeter and the gate was opened for him, he nodded responding to the greetings from the park members at the gate. He packed his car in the parking lot of the pack and he was greeted by a few pack members, while he went straight to his pack office, he met his best friend Asher who is also the pack beta at the entrance of his office. Why do you look worried ‘’he asked while closing the door ‘’I met my mate today’’ ‘’Wow finally you should be happy, what pack is she from, what does she look like? Why do you look sad’’ Asher asked. Scott sighed, She is different’’ he said ‘’she is human, she is not a wolf’’ ‘’Oh, now I see why you looked worried, what do you plan on doing’’ Asher asked. ‘’Do you remember the old prophecy’’ “When wolf and human heart entwine ... Destruction or peace.” ‘’Yes I remember I do not think anyone can forget that’’ Asher said. That’s why I'm worried, Scott said. ‘’Now I understand why you look sad, but I don’t think that should be a problem, I'm sure there will be a way out, don’t worry you should be happy for now. Don’t let the prophecy weigh you down’’ ‘’Okay, I will try to be positive. I need to go home and shower, I had a very long day, I will see you tomorrow, Scott said while picking up his car key. Lydia's phone buzzed with a call from her best friend, Sarah bringing her back to reality ‘’Hey, girl! What’s up? You stood me up today.’’ Lydia sighed, feeling a pang of guilt. She’d been so caught up in her encounter with Scott that she’d forgotten about her outing with her friend. “Sorry, Sarah! I was in a bit of a situation today. I will tell you all about it tomorrow.” ‘’Hope you are good’’ Sarah asked ‘’Yes Lydia replied, We will talk about it tomorrow.’’ Lydia smiled with a sense of normalcy. Maybe tomorrow she’d be able to process her encounter with Scott and make sense of the strange draw to him. As she changed into comfortable clothes, she went to the kitchen to make herself a cup of tea, she met her mum in the kitchen. ‘’When did you get back, her mum asked’’. ‘’Not quite long Lydia responded while making herself a cup of tea.” ‘’You look sullen, hope you are fine, her mum asked.’’ Yes, I just had a long day, Lydia replied.’’ Lydia's mind went back to Scott, wondering if she would see him again and what would happen if she did. Just as she was settling down on her armchair, she heard a knock on her door and her sister peeped in with a smile You have a guest’’ she said. By this time of the night’’ Lydia asked’’ ‘’Yes her sister said smiling’’ Lydia stood up following her sister out of the room, Lydia's heart skipped a bit, she was surprised to see Scott standing by his car, she moved closer to him “How did you find my house’’ she asked quietly. ‘’I have my ways’’ he replied smiling. What are you doing here? She asked him. ‘’I needed to see you,’’ can I come in’ Scott replied. Lydia looked back and saw her sister peeping from the window. ‘’No let’s step outside’’ she said Lydia felt a sense of anxiety. What did he want from her? Why does she keep getting pulled to this strange man? What the strange figure from earlier said came to her mind again and fear returned to her once more. ‘’You look scared, what’s wrong ‘’ Scott asked. Lydia summoned the courage to talk. “You’re what is wrong, everything since I met you is wrong, the strange creature earlier, why I suddenly keep getting drawn to you and you getting where I live without me telling you’’ “Isn’t that enough to get me worried, what exactly do you want from me? She replied. ‘’Don’t worry I'm here to show you exactly what is going on’’ Scott said his eyes locked onto hers, his gaze burning with intensity that made Lydia's heart skip. ‘’Show me what’’ Lydia's curiosity increased. Scott’s smile was intriguing.’’ You’ ’ll see,’’ he said holding out his hand. Without thinking, Lydia took it, feeling a jolt of electricity as their palms touched, and then everything went dark. When everything became bright she was standing in a dense forest, surrounded by very tall trees that seemed to stretch up to the sky. Scott stood beside her, his eyes glowing with a fierce inner light. ‘’Where are we? ’’Lydia asked her voice shaking with fear.
