Cassie was the kind of woman to keep the head of men turning whenever she passed by. Although filthy rich, she sometimes preferred to walk, and have a good feeling of her beautiful legs. It was also a way to keep her physically fit, and avoid so-called non-communicable diseases.
Jerry arrived at the venue of their meeting and met an angel. Her casual dress was like no other, and he almost questioned the gods about what he did to deserve such a beautiful girl.
Dating a beautiful girl is not easy. Jerry knew that for her to consider him, she had forsaken several men in the process. Such a woman was not to be taken for granted and Jerry vowed to give his woman all the love she deserved in the universe, even if it meant learning some of the finest dating skills in Google.
"You still haven't told me how you got so successful at such a young age." He started.
"It's hard work." The lady said.
"Spare me, okay? I know your father made it so easy for you."
Jerry knew Cassie's father. George was the true definition of a black letterman. That combined with the customary title of 'the devil's advocate in the legal space made him one of the most sort after lawyers. His repute and wide legal knowledge made him promoted to various positions in the legal field and only later was he made the county court judge.
George was doubtlessly an affluent man and he could even afford to educate his only daughter at a foreign prestigious university. Therefore when Jerry made his assertions, he knew Cassie's background from the palms of his hands.
Unfortunately for him, Cassie seemed not to understand his correct position. She hated it when men thought a woman could not work hard by her means and become successful in her life. Was that the reason he thought she had her car bought by a sugar daddy?
"How do you mean? I know my father is wealthy but I worked hard for everything I have now."
"Okay agreed. I know you are hard-working. You have always been hard-working."
That lessened the tension and blew away some hot airs that were almost forming. "… But take the example of your father. He could not do most of the things he has now in those days… I mean, it could not be so easy for you. It is just the other year when he sent you off to the United Kingdom."
"Oh, you still remember?" There was a sudden excitement in her tone.
"Of course, I remember, you know. I remember how you left, I didn't keep in search anymore."
"Coming from someone that didn't even notice me back then," Cassie said.
"You think so?"
"I know so." She said.
"Wow, okay listen. Cassie, you are way too beautiful not to be noticed or liked by anyone and that is a fact, okay. I was just broke back then, I was not ready for a relationship and broke guys have no business being in a relationship, it's a rule."
"Jerry!"
"Yeah."
"But you were hanging out with other girls."
"I was?" She nodded.
"… I can't remember but that is in the past, okay? This is the future, right?"
"Okay." She agreed.
"Ao, do you still live with your parents or do you live alone?"
"Jerry, I'm an adult now, okay? My parents are still in New York. I chose to come back and yes, I live alone."
"That is great. Okay, let's eat up coz there is this series that is out. I think it is called the black… err… The blacklist."
"Yes, the blacklist." She said.
"I have heard people talk about Raymond Reddington and Elizabeth Keen. I have also seen the advert."
"My friend also saw it and said it is great. So why don't we go and watch a few episodes in the evening?"
"Yeah, it is fine. I don't have anything that I am going to do today." Cassie agreed to go with him.
