Little monster.
It is 9:00 a.m. in the Voss's mega mansion. The maids walk around in panic while the entire family is on their respective phones. The eldest son, next to being the family head, turns on the TV to the news. They all watch in silence until they finally hear the news they were hoping not to. They all broke down in tears as they heard the sad news about the passing of the youngest among their father’s children.
“Bring in that monster,” Grandpa Voss ordered the maids, as a single tear falls from his eyes. Vincent walks in between the two maids. He adjusted his pajamas, without minding that they are all grieving the loss of a loved one. He puts his hands behind his back and proceeds to walk down the stairs gracefully.
“Vincent Voss,” Grandpa Voss said fiercely the moment Vincent steps into the room. With respect, Vincent places his hand beside him because the one person he respects most in the world is his grandfather. His grandfather walks up to him one step after another.
“Such a bad boy, you killed my daughter!” Grandpa Voss screams at Vincent, but Vincent stood still and did not utter a word.
“He is not my son,” Vincent’s mom lamented as she walks away from everyone “Why did you do it! Why!" Everyone in the room starts yelling at him, but still, Vincent did not utter a word. He did not look happy, scarred, nor feel remorse for the dead.
“I did not do it,” Vincent finally says something, but instead of listening to him, his grandfather slapped him so hard across the face that Vincent fell flat. No one moved to help him stand or calm their father down because they were sure Vincent is the killer,he had always been a troublesome kid whose parents always cleared out his crimes for him.
“Lock him in his room,” Grandpa Voss ordered the maids again. Without uttering a word, Vincent stood up, dusted his body, and followed the maids obediently.
“Will I at least be given food?” Vincent asks the maids as they push him inside his room, but none of them answer him as they leave the room. Vincent moves closer to the standing mirror in one corner of his room as he smiles in excitement. “Best summer ever!” he said, raising his hands up in the air and laughing wickedly.
About five hours ago, Aunt Amy had dragged Vincent out of her car because he had refused to give his iPad to her baby girl. She collected the gadget, threw it to the floor, and stepped on it until it broke. She started hitting him so hard that he had a tiny cut on his nose because of the ring on her finger. Yet, Vincent did not cry. It hurt a lot, especially the fact that he is only fifteen, but he is the type that endures a lot.
After she was done hitting him, she hops into her car and drives off, leaving him behind. Vincent could only sit on the floor, stay quiet, and hope she comes back for him.
Aunt Amy could not take it any longer. Realizing it was wrong to leave a fifteen year old alone in the middle of the night out of nowhere. She turned the car around. But Vincent was no longer in sight. She gets down from the car and realizes he is indeed nowhere to be found. She starts to panic.
Vincent rushes toward the car, happy that his aunt had turned back around, only to find the baby in the car. He had only left a few minutes ago to ease himself. Vincent carries the baby, petting her. He stood in front of a dark valley. Vincent turned to leave, only for someone to run out of that corner. He did not see the face, but he knew this person had the same height as him. He walked back to the car, picked up his aunt’s phone, and turned on the flashlight. Vincent walks slowly toward the dark valley until he finally comes across who he has been looking for,Aunt Amy.
But it was too late. Aunt Amy is now in a pool of blood, her eyes wide open, and her throat slit. What caught his attention was the signature the killer had left on her body. It looked like an A without the stroke in the middle, a C but facing the wrong direction, and an F written under the two alphabets like a math formula. The most captivating part was the one the killer had drawn on her face, a moon with a tiny star in the middle.
Instead of screaming out in fear or calling for help, Vincent gave a smile of satisfaction. He walked back to the car, used Aunt Amy’s phone to call for help, and pretended to cry on the phone. Vincent could have defended himself, but the fact that he was satisfied with his aunt’s death made him stay silent, because he was just as guilty.
“Aaarrrrrrgghhhh!” one of the maids screamed in terror as she opened the door to Vincent’s room. She ran down the hall, pointing toward Vincent’s room. When they opened the door, they could not believe what they were witnessing. Vincent was on top of a maid who looked like she was either in a deep sleep or had passed out. He was drawing the signature of the killer on the maid, His grandfather pushed him off the maid just as he was about to draw out the star in the moon.
Vincent had manipulated the maid into drinking the glass of milk on his table, saying she needed to make sure it was not spoiled. She had no option but to obey, not realizing he had spiked it with a heavy dose of sleeping pills. When asked why he did it, he simply replied that he wanted to see if he would enjoy it. For the next two days, Vincent was denied food, no outing, and no visitors.
On the day his aunt was to be buried, being left alone in the house, he seized the opportunity to finish his work of art.
He ordered a maid to buy him flowers and lots of gifts, gifting them to the maid he had hurt to earn back her trust. Vincent walked back to his room, waiting for his food, knowing she would bring him his dinner to show her gratitude.
Vincent and the maid talked a little before she finally stood up to take her leave. Vincent counted to six and then left his room, following her quietly. Since all the maids were now outside gossiping, Vincent took action. He pushed her as soon as she got to the stairs, making her pass out. He then dragged her to one of the rooms, brought out his special small knife, and successfully shaped out the star in the moon. He dragged her back to the stairs, smiled out of satisfaction, and walked away, leaving her there bleeding.
Clara stood still looking at the body in front of her. Her hands are a bit shaky, but at least it is worth it. Clara had witnessed how Vincent’s Aunt had dragged him out of the car that night. Clara decides to take her life so she will never have to disturb Vincent again.
After taking Aunt Amy’s life, Clara trembles out of fear, picks up a bicycle which she had used to follow them, and heads back home. No one ever notices when Clara leaves the house. In her household, there are a total of twelve children, all from her parents.
Clara is the number eight, and the first girl in the family. She does whatever she wants. Clara is always treated right. Instead of knocking on the gate like a normal person, Clara jumps into the house through the fence. Unlike the Vosses, Clara is very poor compared to them. Her father works at different construction sites to feed his family while her mother sells one or two things as a stay at home mom. The house belonged to her late grandfather, which makes things not so difficult for them.
After making it inside, Clara carefully removes the clothes she is wearing, takes a clean bath, and hides the clothes she wears. Early in the morning, she had woken up again, picked up the blood-stained clothes, put it in one corner, and burned it right there, erasing the evidence. Clara did not feel bad about it a bit. Instead, she was very happy about what she had done, believing it is the best thing she can do for Vincent.
Clara was only nine the first time she met Vincent. On that fateful day, Clara had chased down his small ball for him, and as she handed it back to him, Vincent smiled at her and thanked her. It was at this moment Clara lost it. His smile captivated her and at such a young age, Clara knew he is the one for her and she will do anything just to have this handsome soul in her life. Clara asked what his name is, which he answered.
Then it hit Clara, how will she ever have him to herself if they both come from different worlds? The Vosses are very famous, wealthy, and powerful, unlike her poor family.
Right there at that moment, Clara starts plotting. How will she make it to the top? How will she impress him? What does he like and what does he not like? And the best way is... stalk him. “Where were you last night?” one of her older siblings asks her. Clara could only look at him surprisingly because she did not expect anyone to notice her disappearance.
He had woken up to use the restroom, counted all of them before going back to lie down. He opens his eyes slowly as he realizes something. There are only eleven people in the room including him, instead of twelve. Someone is missing.
He stood up again and counted everyone, and then he got to the eighth born, Clara. He knew at once that she is the one missing. He almost feels disappointed because he could have just guessed right away since she is the first girl in the family.
“Why don’t you mind your business?” Clara snapped at her brother. He tried hitting her but her mom defended her. Clara is in fact not the only first girl in the family but the only girl as well. As over pampered as Clara is, she will often lie to her parents about everything the others had done, let them wash her clothes and dishes, run errands for her, and even teach them how to make money for her.
Whenever any one of them does not comply to her needs or bring home enough money for her, she would often punish them, and they will blindly accept her punishment because they do not want her to report them. That is the worst punishment yet because that means they will do all the house chores, get flogged or given no food. So rather than all this, they accept her punishment instead.
Because she does not want to pressure her parents, she starts using her brothers to get more money, exploits money from them, and saves them in a place no one will ever find it.After saving for a year, Clara starts to buy lotions and other stuffs, Seeing how beautiful she now looks, she starts auditioning to be a model and eventually succeeded,so she can save money to attend the same school as Vincent.
