ARIA’S POV
“GET THE DOCTOR NOW!”
I pushed the gurney into the hospital, running faster and faster. The other nurses could barely keep up. Grace almost stumbled and fell, but she managed to regain her balance as we pushed Damien into the building. I didn’t stop, nor did I take a break as we headed deeper into the hospital.
Why the hell was the surgical suite so far inside?
As we rushed in, I saw Dr. Lee running towards me. He grabbed the other side of the gurney and pushed.
“Gunshot wound,” I said automatically. “Male, early thirties.”
The doctor nodded solemnly. “How long?”
“A few minutes ago. Security has apprehended the suspect.”
I spoke with the calm I reserved only for patients and doctors. I couldn't let myself feel, couldn't see him in that position.
