Legends of Tech Season One: Advent Exponent

The Polyverse, a multi-multiverse containing all to ever exist, defended by each universe's champion. But a threat is soon returning that will take unparalleled power to defeat: the power of an Astral. For this, the Goddess of life, Gaia, chose a human from Earth to be said Astral, who would otherwise be harvested by this soon returning threat. And this is where our story begins... RDS'S POV  I was living a dream before this all started. I had nice friends, a stable family(which was rare) and high grades. The school year was over, and I planned out a nice, lenient summer. But none of it had mattered. RDS:(wakes up)Time for another great day of games! But something seems off for some reason. Like I could blow up any second. ???: Seems like we have a gamer here. What a weakling. Little does he know this is the last day of his world as he knows it. ???: Leader, this planet is brimming with souls! This is the last harvest we need! And there seems to be many more than required for us to take form. ???: Then let us commence, and since I'm feeling less evil today, I shall make their deaths quick and painless. Commence the laser strike! Back to the RDS Yeah, something's definitely off... Like a cataclysmic event s gonna happen. He looks up. RDS: Thats an orbital laser strike. And I'm dead. The laser fires. [Corruption's Reap Laser.] 9999 fire damage. Crit. [HP: 0/134] (Yeah, there's no way you're surviving that.) [You fell unconsious.] ?: It's done, lord. What now? ?: To the Hacker's Modem. ?: Affirmative. (Now before we move on I know what you're thinking: Why would the main character die in the intro? But he didn't. I only said he fell unconscious, or should I say,I did. This is my story.) (There will be MANY different video game characters from MANY different companies and series in this book. They belong to their respective owners. The OC's and I belong to myself, with a few exceptions.) Prepare to dive into the world of fiction. RDS wakes up in... A void?, and hears a gentle, feminine voice. ?: Ah, you're awake! I thought I was too late. RDS: Yeah, I thought I was dead for a sec. Then another voice sounded, a commanding male one. ?: Fool! That is not how one speaks to a goddess. ?: Calm down, Eternus. He's only a child. Eternus: You are fortunate to be on our side, RDS. We gave you life and can take it in an instant. Wait a second... Life... The God of mortality and Goddess of life...Aha! RDS: Greetings, Gaia, and Eternus. Two divinities stand before him. One, a stunning woman in blue-trimmed sapphire dress, with long white and blue hair and diamond earrings. The other, a tall, proud, gold plated knight with runes on his armor. Gaia: It is a pleasure to meet you, RDS, Gamer of Earth. But I must ask... How do you know my name? Me: Simple logic- In true form, the name Gaia is the name of the nature goddess, a life bringer. A great and fitting name. (Already a 4th wall break, that thing doesn't exist here) Gaia: Aw, thanks. If we're taking you under our wing, can you tell us a bit about yourself? RDS: Well... Avid epic gamer who stands for justice. Nothing special. I'm familiar with some anime too, but I'm not devoted to it. Eternus: Hm... a boy familiar with fiction who stands for good... Gaia, you may have outdone yourself. Me: One thing I'd like to ask; where will I go, now that my planet is destroyed? Gaia: We can send you anywhere in the Polyverse you wish. Me: The Polyverse... Wait, an infiniversal dimension consisting of all things in existence? Eternus: (How the hell does he know this?) True. But you will have to fend for yourself. Gaia: But that's not entirely true, there will be characters there. And each universe is still separate from the other ones. Eternus: Though we will not be with you, we will not leave you helpless either. RDS: Well, how? I'm nothing special. I don't have powers, I'm no genius, I'm weaker than average physically... The only real thing I've got is my iron will. Gaia: Negative. I've been observing your planet for years, and you have rare qualities among the males. Rationality, deception, mood-lifting, you're actually more clever than most... Eternus: And by Gaia's standards you're not, as she would say it... A jerk. Gaia: By that, your charisma factor is incredible! I'm astonished! RDS: I guess there's that. Gaia: I will grant you my ability to use Ether magic since I seem to be unable to harness it fully. If it isn't much trouble, I was able to recover your soul, but not all your DNA, so I'll have to build you a new body. RDS: Wait what? Magic? New body? Eternus: Indeed. As to ensure success in your ultimate mission, I will grant you the ability to save and load your state at will. Gaia: And as a small bonus, we will let you choose a power to take. Select carefully, you only get one. RDS thinks for a few seconds, then gets an idea. RDS:(How can I get stronger easily, while eliminating grind, while also getting stronger as I fight? Aha!) Me:*confident tone* I give myself the power of exponential growth, with my proficiency and power doubling for each level I gain in the RPG system! And as for where I go, I choose to proceed to Gensokyo! Gaia: Fine choice, Exponential.*giggles* Me: Farewell to you two for now- and thank you, Gaia.*hugs her* Gaia: *Shocked somewhat by the sudden hug, but returns it* I-it's not a problem. May your ventures be well. As I pulled away from Gaia, I was warped away in sudden light, and my adventure truly began. Gaia: I should have known a kid like him would be flamboyant. But it's kind of cute, the way he acts... Eternus: Oh and best not to tell him yet, but he's pseudo-immortal- that's included with the save and load. Gaia: Okay. But his companion might.
