Busy Loving

“Love is for two and whoever is united, let no man separate.” We would all wait to hear the big words from the person who brought us together. I would not have imagined that a day like this would come, when a man like me would keep the most beautiful woman as a wife, “Today we've come here to celebrate the wedding of our own Vincent Bakes and Nesty Chats. May whatever the two of you bring from today onwards bring nothing but total prosperity full of blessings.” I was so honored on this day and could appreciate it more. Now we were going to match to our matrimonial home and start a life, For many years, I've been hearing stories about a wedding, and how it goes down after that with the honeymoon and not forgetting that wedding night which I had saved a lifetime for. This night that I had indeed anticipated had reached when I noticed unusual behavior by her. This had in turn brought a certain feeling that was just about to change my whole life. During the past few days, when we were still dating, I recalled visiting Nasty’s mother, who she had been staying with since they had long-lost her father from a plane crash. Now mama Nesty saw potential in me and gave me all her blessings, but there's this one piece of advice that she was sure that I got to listen to about her daughter. “My daughter has been through a lot and, just like any other person, her case isn't as special. Nesty is battling so much, and she was recently divorced. I want you to love her as a wife and promise that you will forever take good care of her. However, son, be very, very careful not to lose yourself in the process.” Now these were the words that would strike again like lightning, as I did not understand why it came to mind as a flashback during this time. I mean, we were lovers and never hid anything from each other and I remember her mentioning her divorce until I became a shoulder for her. To lean on. She had honestly been through so much and this had even given me the reason to even marry her in the first place.I wanted her to take a break from all the struggles of her previous relationship and also prove to her that good men still exist. Now I am entangled in a chain of dilemmas, wondering what the hell in the universe is happening seeing my wife looking so beautiful but believing that there must be something disturbing her since I could read this from her eyes. “Honey, look at how strong you've come to be and you're still moving. "Isn't life amazing?” I would try to light up her mood but all I could get for an answer was, “I need some space Vincent Bakes.” Could not believe that she called me by my biological name. “I understand that you might be exhausted from the wedding and all, but could you just take this moment to…” “I don't love you Vincent, I have never loved at the first step and never will!! Just leave me alone and let me live my own life!!” She would mention these stabbing words and leave me alone in a room full of deep thoughts. At that point, when I had just realized that I had married a stranger, I honestly didn't have an idea of who Nesty was until this very unfaithful day, a day that was to be the most important day in the whole of my life. This would make the whole place so quiet as I fulfilled her wish of living alone, but was not going to give up on her, only to be woken up by an unexpected conversation from a distance. I quickly rushed to peep and realized that it was all her in a phone call, “I'm coming for you, Tommy. Inform me when you arrive at the city.” Tommy was Nesty’s ex-husband who had just flown to the country and to many who knew him,he was a world class billionaire who owned Air Bombardier. A world-class name for the biggest company with fleshy airplanes, having inherited the company from his dad, money was not his problem. Recent news has it that the CEO, Tommy, had recently been involved in a plane crash and the bad news being that he had lost both of his legs. The good news is that he is still perfectly alive! That day all the media stations flooded his private hospital which he solemnly bought the entire building just because he believed what the words of the street were:the best healthcare center! So he needed everything to himself. Now here in Manilla, closer to where I am staying is where he was going to get all his attention from. What a confidence it was during our very own wedding night when he had perfectly called my lovely Nesty to arrange for a meet-up, claiming that he wanted to correct all his mistakes. That's why her mood changed so fast!! The mood that night was getting nothing better until it even worsened. Nesty had just seen her phone light up for a minute and this notification was about an anonymous message, “Hey honey, can't wait to see you again. Meet me in the very first place where we had our date and exchanged our vows, Tommy.” This turned out to be the beginning of my downfall and, just like they say about a fight, is that sometimes you can't fight, you definitely have to love it. And through this love, that is where the fight was going to come. “I'm going to see Tommy,” she said. “Well, let's go together. Since we already took our wedding vows and we're one. A person important to my wife as well as an important one to me!” I had made a stern decision to never let my wife be snatched. She had not known me either, for never ever in her mind had she ever thought of me ever being stubborn!!
