I stayed at Oliver’s for maybe an hour or so and I was about to leave until Oliver asked me to stay.
“Do you want to stay for dinner?” Oliver asked me.
“What are you having?” I asked, suspicious it was me who was for dinner.
“Chicken with hollandaise sauce, green beans, Croissants with honey and for dessert: Ice cream, your choice.” Oliver said and I had to admit it did sound good.
“Let me ask my dad before I say anything, can I use your phone?” I asked
“It is down the hall and it is hanging on the wall, here let me show you. It is less confusing if I show you.” Oliver said, leading me down the hall to the phone.
“Thanks,” I said and dialed my number on the phone,
“Hey dad, it’s Rose, I was wondering if I could stay at Oliver’s for dinner,” I paused, listening to his answer.
“Great, thanks dad, oh S.A.R.A.H should have something to eat for you, just check in the fridge.” I said then hung up.
“So, can you stay?” Asked Oliver, standing there while I was talking to my dad
“Yes I can.” I said to him with a slight smirk.
After Oliver introduced me to the rest of the family, Oliver and I went upstairs to the table to eat dinner. I had to admit Demiritrana was an amazing cook.
“Wow, this food is amazing, you have to give me the recipe sometime.” I said to Demiritrana with half a mouthful of food.
“Of course Rose I’d be happy to give you the recipe, Oliver here helped with half of it.” Demiritrana said, gesturing to Oliver.
“Oliver helped? He did well.” I said eyeing Oliver, who was looking down.
I got my books and projects after we were done and Oliver walked me home, he kept looking at me and I kept wondering what he was thinking or if he knew what I was thinking.
“Thank you for a wonderful meal, Oliver, it was amazing.” I said with emphasis.
“No problem. I…um was wondering if you would like to come over again later tomorrow.” Oliver said, stammering his sentence.
“I can’t, tomorrow I’m,” Hunting rouges and I’ll have to rain check on that, “going somewhere with my dad and he won’t tell me where.” I lied.
“Oh, ok, maybe Friday then?” Oliver said with a glint of sadness in his voice.
“Yea, Friday might work, I’ll have to check.” I said, walking into the house.
I looked out the window and saw Oliver leaving and… fist pumping? Ha-ha, he was funny. Funny, smart, cute… I can’t fall in love, can I? Even I didn’t know the answer to that question yet. It was the best day ever, but it just got bad as a heavy shiver went through my body. I grabbed my katana and waited for the rouge or rouges to come. The shivers were warbling between horrid and wretched. Five… Four… Three… Two… One. By the time I was done counting, five, or more, rouge vampires were circled around me and heard them growling and hissing at me.
“Rose, Rose, Rose you know you shouldn’t try to win this game, because your outnumbered seven to one. Attack her!” The main rouge snarled and a bunch of rouges jumped at me.
Mistake number one, I easily slashed them with cat-like reflexes and smiled.
“Looks like I’m evenly matched.” I said, smirking at the lead rouge.
“RAAAAAAAAWG! I will take care of you myself.” The lead rouge said.
Mistake number two, I caught him by the collar and drove him into my katana and pinned him against the wall like a bug.
“TELL ME WHOES NEXT YOU IMPURE SON OF THE DEVIL HIMSELF!” I yelled at the leader, who was squirming with pain.
“T-the Berollese c-clan is next, that is all I know.” The leader said, obviously scared out of his mind right now, which was expected of most rouges.
I smiled and said: “Thanks.”
After the leader confessed, I beheaded him and S.A.R.A.H incinerated every last one as an extra precaution and other safety reasons that I don’t like to talk about. No rouge has gotten away alive unless that rouge was an in between vampire that turned good. Vampires’ eyes are how you could tell if they were good, bad, or not decided. A rouge vampire’s eyes are like big black holes that won’t change colors, a good vampire’s eyes are a mix of blue and purple in one, and an undecided vampire’s eyes are a grey color, like grey clouds, and won’t change until they pick a side and commit to that side. Undecided vampires are the only ones, besides good vampires, that I cannot “feel” with my little fun sense. I wish my so called “gift” would stretch to at least undecided vampires, or both good and undecided, but it would be a warm feeling, no cold feeling to the shiver.
It was finally Friday today and I was happy that school was almost over with, but also relived that I have no homework on Fridays and that is a bonus.
“It’s finally Friday, Hallelujah.” I said, throwing my arms toward the sky
“Yea, thank whoever invented the day of Friday.” Said a girl from my class, Chericia I believe it was. She was the kind of person who was very light and bubbly; she was also a good friend to me and everyone else in this cursed school.
“I heard Diamond is back, you know “I’m so popular, I’m dating Oliver, and I’m richer than everyone” Diamond that we know.” Said Geminia with a snotty tone to imitate Diamond.
“Who’s Diamond?” I asked when suddenly a girly girl from behind me tapped my shoulder
“I’m, like, Diamond, like, why does this loser not know who I, like, am?” said Diamond, who is clearly not as popular as she may think. “Diamond” has way too much make up on, too much bracelets on and I have the desire to punch this girl so hard her great, great, great, great grand children will feel it.
“I don’t know who the heck you are and wouldn’t care, because I am kind of new here and I don’t want any trouble.” I said and boy was Diamond angry!
“You going to, like, get trouble geek.” Diamond said, pushing me out of her way. GRRRRRRRRRRR that was a horrible mistake anyone would make to get me mad.
“You know, I’ve taken almost eighteen classes in all forms of self defense, you do not want to make me mad.” I said, grabbing her wrist and slightly twisting.
“OW, let go you, like, geek, you are going to make me catch a disease.” Diamond said with fear in her eyes, good she SHOULD be afraid.
“Don’t over exaggerate and just because I have good grades doesn’t mean a thing!” I said, letting go of her wrist and sneering at the so called “Popular”
“You’ll regret this, Oliver; my boyfriend will take care of you, trash.” Diamond said with an over confident smirk. Strike two, one more and I’ll make her wish she was dead.
“What is going on here? Rose, are you alright?” Oliver asked, coming out of the crowd that was gathered around me and Diamond.
“You’re asking HER if SHE is alright, not ME your GIRLFRIEND?” Diamond said with a sneer, she was in her own little world of crazy.
“We were never dating, nor will we ever date, EVER!” Oliver yelled and raised his hands into her face so she could hear. Was Oliver defending me or just trying to tell Diamond the truth? Probably both.
“Y-your b-breaking up with me, the, like, most popular girl in school?” Diamond whimpered, was she going to cry? If she was I wanted it on tape, where’s my phone at? Right, in my locker, damn.
“Yes, yes I am. I never wanted to date you in the first place.” Oliver said, oh my god, Diamond was going to cry. Where is a cell phone or and IPod when you want to tape someone crying?
“Why me, Why HER? Why?” Diamond cried and ran off with a bunch of people cheering that she was finally gone.
“Oliver, that was awesome, I just wish someone was taping that.” I said, trying my best not to laugh.
“Thanks, it was about time someone told that- crazy girl that we were never dating and never would.” Oliver said, lowering his arms to his sides.
Oliver and I talked and walked to our classes, most of them he had with me or he just walked me to and then dropped me off while he went to class, then we walked home together and just talked about our day and how it went. I didn’t know about Oliver, but I had the best day since Oliver public ally humiliated Diamond.
We finally arrived at our homes and I didn’t know what to tell Oliver about his invite over to his house again.
“Oliver, I still have to ask my dad and I have no idea what he might say.” I said, looking at Oliver’s deep blue- purplish eyes.
“Ok, I can wait and if not then that’s fine I understand.” Oliver said, he did understand.
“I’ll be right back.” I said and then headed into the house to find my dad watching a spots event, football, I guessed.
“You call that a Pass?! My grandmother could throw better than that!” My dad shouted at the TV and I had to tap him on the shoulder to get his attention.
“You know they can’t hear you right?” I said looking at the game, scores were tied apparently.
“Yes, but still,” Dad said, pausing the TV, “look I have to work at nine and if you want to go over to Oliver’s then go ahead, but be back at a reasonable time.”
“I will dad, I promise.” I said glad I could be free of dad constantly shouting about how the team was playing.
I headed outside to find Oliver staring at the house and smiling, why?
“Well I can come over and dad is shouting at the TV FYI.” I said to Oliver, who was still smiling.
“I can hear him from here; no doubt the entire neighborhood could hear it too.” Oliver said, laughing a bit.
“Ha-ha-ha, oh so funny I forgot to laugh.” I said sarcastically.
“You laughed, even if you just said Ha-ha, you still kind of laughed.” Oliver said and smiled, but didn’t after he saw my glare.
“Really, did you figure that out on your own?” I said with an attitude.
“Ummm…no?” Oliver said, rolling his eyes toward the sky.
“Uh-huh, right.” I said with my annoyed glare
After dinner Oliver walked me home and it was very quiet, except for our little bits of words we threw out to make sure the silence wasn’t too awkward and one of us would sigh for no reason at all. It was the quietest, most disturbing walk I have ever had, ever, but it was also one of the nicest I’ve had.
“Well, I um have to go in now, see you at school tomorrow?” I asked, backing toward the house.
“Yea, sure and rose,” Oliver said and I looked at him for what seemed like an entire minute before he spoke again, “tomorrow is Saturday.” Oliver said and he backed toward his house, still staring at me. Saturday, I checked my phone and it was Friday today, damn I am so losing track of everything.
“Bye Oliver.” I said and then went into the house.
I stared at the clock and it read 9:30 in the evening and I wasn’t tired, like always, because I’m used to keeping awake to prevent anyone sneaking up on me, but I decided to head downstairs and try to get some sleep. I felt a person staring at me, so I closed my curtains and checked anywhere a person would hide, but there was no one; I guess it was just paranoia. I fell asleep that night, but I felt as if someone was holding me, but I just figured it was my own arm wrapped around my waist. I slept fairly well for someone who stays up almost all night to prevent herself from getting killed, I turned over to face the wall and I saw Oliver.
“Oliver what are you doing here?” I said to Oliver.
“I-um…can explain…um.” Oliver said and then bolted out the door before I could do any serious damage to him, which I didn’t want to do.
“Ugh, when I get dressed, I am going to kick you so hard you will land in Timbuktu very confused!” I yelled at him and ran out, after I got changed, to find him standing there with his hands in his pockets.
“I can explain everything!” Oliver said, putting his hands up to try to block me.
“EXPLAIN WHY YOU WERE IN MY HOUSE AND MY ROOM BEFORE I DO SOMETHING YOU AND I WILL BOTH REGRET!” I shouted with anger.
