“No, you two stop taking his side. He has to stay here till Juliet comes.”, Maria said with a grumpy face.

“Phss ... Pablo hey listen brother.”, Dan whispered in Pablo’s ear.

“What now?”, Pablo whispered too. He understood Dan wanted him to do something without telling Maria.

“How about you go and complete my discharge procedure, then I will ask your help to take me to the bathroom, then we will run away from here.”, Dan whispered.

“Damn it, Dan, are you trying to run away from the kidnappers? It’s your wife from whom you are trying to escape. Where you are planning to go after running away from here.”, Pablo whispered in irritation.

“Pablo Brother, of course, I can’t leave my wife and family. All I want now is just to hide from them for a few days till they forget about my hospitalization.”, Dan whispered.

“No, right now you need someone to take care of you. You must stay here obediently.”, Pablo rejected him.

"Pablo are you my friend or not?", Dan said with a grumpy face.

"I am your friend. That is why I do not agree with you", Pabo replied.

"Pablo, please, I promise I will do anything if you help me to escape today.", Dan pleaded.

"HU, what can you give me?", Pablo replied.

"I'll lose every single chess game from now on", Dan said.

"I already told you I don't want you to lose. I need fair competition.", Pablo said.

"Then what do you want?", Dan asked.

"Your farmhouse", Pablo said.

"Which farmhouse?", Dan asked.

"The one that is near the X river.", Pablo said.

"No way", Dan rejected.

"Then forget about escaping too.", Pablo replied.

"You opportunist.", Dan gritted his teeth.

"Of course I am", Pablo said with a cunning smile.

"You ... damn it, fine I will give it to you.", Dan agreed.

"You will sign the transfer papers as soon as you get out of the hospital", Pablo said.

" OK, as soon as I leave the hospital I will call my lawyer to prepare papers.", Dan said.

"Don't worry about it. The papers are ready, you just have to sign them.", Pablo said.

"You were ready for it.", Dan said.

"I prepared it to make you sign when you lose the chess game. Who knew you would like to gift me just like that.", Pablo said with a cunning smile.

"Yeah, gift you just like that. Now that I have gifted it to you, so will you help me.", Dan was trying hard to control his anger.

"Wait here, I will go and complete your discharge process.", Pablo said. They both nodded at each other in agreement.

Dan lay down on the bed calmly, while Pablo cleared his throat, "Hmm, Maria, Valda, you two stay here with Dan. I will go and ask the doctor about arranging a nurse for Dan.".

"Nurse, for what?", Valda asked in confusion.

"I think if Dan has to stay here, then we should get a nurse for him who can stay by his side, as we can't stay awake every moment. What if Dan needs something? A nurse is a must.", Pablo just casually made an excuse.

"Hmm OK, do whatever you want.", Maria wasn't bothered about it.

Pablo sighed and quickly left.

* * * * * * * At Rija's Private Villa * * * * * * *

Rija came back home with Nanny Rose and driver James. Driver James went straight to his room while Nanny Rose followed Rija. Rija opened the door of her villa and went in. Darkness welcomed them home. Nanny Rose turned on the lights, and they both changed their shoes.

"I will go and prepare something for you, you must be hungry.", Nanny Rose said while taking a step towards the kitchen, but before she could move further Rija stopped her, "Nanny Rose, no need. I will do it myself. You go and have some rest.".

"How come? I am here. How can I allow you to do it by yourself?", Nanny Rose rejected.

"Nanny Rose, I have to stay awake for the whole night for work. So, to not get sleepy, I have to keep myself busy. If you cook food for me and I have to wait, I will get sleepy. So please go and rest. I need you to be up early tomorrow so you can help me get up early. So, please go.", Rija said while pushing Nanny Rose towards her room.

"That won't be a problem, baby Rija. I will be up early. And if you get sleepy while waiting for food, you can take a short nap. I'll wake you up.", Nanny Rose still tried to make her agree.

"No", Rija rejected. She pushed Nanny Rose inside the room and continued while holding the door, "If you want to stay here with me, then listen to me and sleep.", then she shut the door.

Nanny Rose wanted to open the door and go but she stopped. She knew if she went out Rija would send her back to Tyler's villa. From the time Rija turned 12, she started doing all her work by herself. No matter how many times she or other servants try to pursue her, she will never listen. Rija always made her own food and washed her own dishes by herself. And after she moved out of the Tyler family, she became more independent, and she doesn’t let anyone else do her work.

Nanny Rose was sure Rija would make her own food and eat it before sleeping. So, she reluctantly turned to go to bed.

After sending Nanny Rose to her room, Rija walked toward the kitchen. She made supper for herself, then set her table in front of the TV and ate while watching TV.

There was an animal documentary running on TV. Rija ate quietly and kept staring at the TV screen with depressed and wet eyes. Right now, she was not the bright, confident, lively, and ambitious girl like she was in front of her colleagues and grandparents. Right now, she was a lonely, depressed, and sad little girl who had been abandoned by the world.

This is her life the whole day. She wears a happy face mask to hide her loneliness gifted by her parents.

“Alas … Looks like you have to do it alone as well, Rija. Anyway, if they were here, they wouldn’t be able to help me anyway.”, Rija tried to cheer herself up. She tried her best to make her mood better, but nothing worked. She started eating as fast as she could, then turned off the TV and ran into her bedroom. She quickly changed into her pajamas and sat in front of the computer screen.

She turned on the computer and whispered to herself, “I can’t waste your time in thinking about them while they are busy doing what they love. I have your own life and own dreams.”, she took a deep breath and continued, “The University of Y City here I come.”. As soon as she finished her words, a bright smile appeared on her face and her fingers started dancing on the keyboard.

Rija was totally on her computer because she was not aware of what was happening around her or how much time had passed. All she was worried about right now was her dream to study at the University of Y City.
