“ The patient is fine now. Fortunately, the amount of egg he consumed was less, otherwise, things would be bad.”, the Doctor explained Dan’s condition to Pablo and Valda, while Dan was lying on the bed. He was conscious but was exhausted.

“Thank you doctor.”, Pablo thanked the doctor.

The doctor nodded, then explained the medication to them and left.

“I still can’t understand how you have consumed egg? All the staff in the Tyler's Villa's kitchen have been working with us for more than a year and they are all aware of your egg allergy, and they have always been careful. Then how come this can happen today?”, Valda shared her worry with Dan.

“ The doctor said the amount he consumed was less. Maybe they used a spoon or a bowel that had been used for eggs.”, Pablo shared his thought.

“That’s not possible they are very careful about it. For Dan, they always use a separate set of utensils. Still, it’s our staff’s fault, because of which you have to suffer. I am really sorry.”, Valda apologized sincerely.

“That’s true, it’s because of their negligence that you have to get hospitalized, but don’t worry, I will fire them all.”, Pablo said with a straight face.

“AH Valda, please don’t apologize and, Pablo, you don’t have to fire them. They won’t do such a thing purposely. It must be a mistake.”, Dan said with guilt.

“How come. Because of this mistake, you could have died. Pablo is right, so we should fire them all. Such irresponsible staff is not worthy of working at Tyler’s Villa”, Valda said with a grumpy face.

“No, Valda. It’s not their mistake.”, Dan said anxiously.

“How is it not their mistake? They were responsible for cooking for you so, of course, it was their mistake”, Pablo said.

“It’s not, I mean what if I had not consumed egg from the food they have cooked.”, Dan said in a very low voice with guilt.

Pablo saw Dan’s behaviour and felt something was not right, “Dan, what’s going on? Have you eaten something else than the dinner cooked by Tyler’s Villa’s cooks?”.

“I … I …”, Dan tried to avoid eye contact and continued, “Actually, when you left to see off Rija I had a muffin, but it was just a fourth part of the muffin my great granddaughter gave me.”.

Pablo and Valda both gasped. “Dan Miller, are you out of your mind? How can you eat a muffin casually? Don’t you know your own body?”, Pablo scolded him.

“I know my body. I thought it did not have an egg. Usually, whatever comes home does not have an egg. So, I assume it also doesn’t have.”, Dan lowered his face.

“If you assume it doesn’t have an egg, then why do you eat it in my study room? Why didn’t you eat it when your great granddaughter gave it to you? Huh?”, Pablo questioned him. He was well aware of Dan’s personality. According to his understanding, Dan knew that there was an egg in the muffin. That is why he did not eat it directly but consumed it secretly later.

“I …. Fine, I knew it had eggs. It was clearly written on the packaging. My sweet great granddaughter gave it to me. At first, I did not take it but she started crying, so to coax her, I kept it. I was not planning to eat it, I thought I would throw it away or give it to someone else. But then in the study room when you left, I found it in my pocket. I wanted to call a servant and give it to them, but I couldn’t. How can I throw away and give away the muffin my great granddaughter gave me with so much love? I tried but I failed to do it and ate it. When I ate it, I waited for any symptoms to appear if something would have happened, I would have taken the medicine but nothing happened that time, so I thought the amount was less. That is why my body did not get affected.”, Dan explained.

“You had your medicine with you? Then why didn't you tell us we would have fed it to you?”, Valda became angry.

Valda roared, “You had your medicine with you? Then why you did not tell us we would have fed it to you.”. When they saw Dan's condition they were so scared and the worse thing was they were blaming themselves and their staff for his condition but in the end, it was his own fault. not just that he ate a muffin that contained egg, he even did not give them a hint that he had his medicine with him.

Dan lowered his head more in embarrassment and answered like a child who made a mistake and was scolded by the teacher, "I was no use if I had told you about medicine. as I still have to be hospitalized.".

"you i***t if you had told us about it, we would have to feed it o you before bringing you to the hospital. fortunately, the hospital was near otherwise if the hospital was far away your condition would have worsened when we reached the hospital.", Pablo shouted, his face became red and he was so loud that his voice could be heard on the whole floor.

"Hey buddy but look nothing happened to me. I'm fine now. Can we just forget about it, please.", Dan pleaded.

Pablo looked at his friend's face and decided to let it go. After all, he is not feeling well, he will get even with him once he gets better. Pablo then turned to look at Valda and said, "Let's forget it after all he is not feeling well. I will beat him once he gets better.".

Valda was still angry she looked at Dan and Pablo with sharp eyes and then said, "Fine I won't say anything. Anyways I don't have to say anything Maria is on her way. She will fix him by herself.".

"What? Why is she coming? How does she know?", Dan panicked.

"Of course, I told her. you were all red and unable to breathe. What if something happened to you? How would I be able to face her.", Dan said with a grumpy face.

"Why have you told her about it? I wasn't dead, it was just a small allergic reaction. Why do you have to inform her about it? God, she will create a scene about it.", Dan shouted in panic and anger.

"Now you know how to worry huh. If you had acted more maturely and had not eaten that muffin nothing would have happened. You ruined the dinner my wife personally ordered the staff to make.", Pablo scold him.

"She just ordered around like a queen. She did not make it personally will you stop bragging about it.", Dan said with a grumpy face while trying to get out of the bed.

"What are you doing lie down? Your body has not recovered yet.", Pablo panicked when he saw Dan getting out of the bed, he pushed him back on the bed.

"Let me go I have to get out of here before Maria comes. I will hide for a week please try to calm her anger till I come back, my brother. Please do it for our brotherhood.", Dan begged while trying hard to get up again.
